The 20th century conflicts and their outcome

In the recorded history the 20th century was considered as the bloodiest Century due to much loss of
lives in the during the conflicts that occurred. Although it was the century that contained many
conflicts it was also the important century because it consisted of much technology and scientific
progress compared to the other centuries. The causes of the conflicts are Militarism, imperialism,
Nationalism, Assassination, (Saugat A. 2019). To start off the main conflicts that took place in the
early 20th are WW 1, WW2, The Holocaust , The Cold War . Firstly the world war 1 started at early
1914, being introduced by the death of the Austrian Hungary general inspector Archduke Franz. It’s
in June 1914 that the inspector was killed by Gavrillo Princip.

The Austra Hungary declared a war on Serbia trying to revenge. This brings the aspect of alliance
between the countries as a cause for the war. The nations made Alliances in case for the attack by
the other nations. When the war started between the two nations (Serbia and Austra Hungary) The
other nations (France, Germany, Russia and Britain ended up being the participants of the war trying
to defend their allys . Also Nationalism ( the act of considering your nation as the powerful or the
best without seeing others), played a role in the world war 1, the superpower nations ( Germany,
France and Britain) were trying to show off their ability of power. Every nation was fighting for their
nation, there was no one that accepted the defeat. Also it was through Nationalism that introduced
militarism as the contribution of world war 1. The superpowers countries were attempting to prove
how far they have gone with their militaries. Each considered itself to be ready to fight for the war.
That led to much hostility between the nations. So the world war 1 was mainly caused by the
struggle for power, because each nation wanted to be more powerful than the the other either
Economically and politically. Especially Germany had pride thinking they were militarily powerful ,
which even led to

The Second World War which was linked with the Holocaust which both had occurred in(1939 to
1945). The causes of these wars are imperialism, scramble for resources, militarism. For instance the
European countries or super powers were struggling to be leading as powerful. The Great Depression
of economy that occurred in Europe has led to rising of conflicts between nation. When the
economy failed in Europe the German’s wanted to a leader who can help them through the
situation. Adolf hitler took the chance and promised to recover what they lost. Afterwards Adolf
started to creat his military army. On September 1 1939 When Germany invaded Poland under the
control of Adolf who wanted to send the German polish to the captive cities. The polish people had
the support from Britain and France. 3, September 1939 the Great Britain and France declared a war
on Germany where by it led to the beginning of the war between Soviet Union and Germany. Also
militarism was the one aspect in world war 2 and the Holocaust. Because by that time Germany has
started to create militarism that led to the beginning of the conflict through the pride that Germany
had on their military. The world war 2 was ended when Japan was exploded using atomic bomb.

The Cold War which took place after (1945-1990)the Second World War was caused by the increase
of tension between USA and Soviet Union, emergence of nuclear weapons , the fear of communism
in USA. Increase in tension between the Soviet Union and USA. The fear of nuclear weapons
increased the tension between them because each of them feared the effects of using them. Before
the end of the second war the The two powers were allied to France and Britain and were against
the Nazi Germany. When the Second World War ended it was finally because of the atomic bomb
that the USA created. The Soviet Union were not able to fight with them because they feared the
atomic bomb. In 29th 1949 the Soviet finally created their nuclear weapon, which was referred as the
first lightning weapon. Though the nuclear weapons has led to deep tension between the territories
but also it maintain peace between the two territories because it created the fear in them that the
war of the nuclear weapons will swipe all of them off.So as my opinion I agree that the world
conflicts are being caused by the struggle for power because every nation wanted there nation to be
powerful hence it led to a long war period in the 20th century. The struggle for power is the general
cause of the war because all the branches above are under struggling of nations for power, either
Economically, politically, and militarily.

The conflicts had impacts on world population and economy both positively and negatively. In the
population side the death rate highly increases causing the reduction of world population and low
birth rate. The First World War affected population negatively, it caused the lose of many people,
Over 16 million people died both civilians and militaries( Fraser .C, 2014) but post wars there was
reduction of death rates and increase in birth rates. In 1919 the year after election in France there
had been 15 women for every man between 18 to 30 years which impacted on population
positively. Also in the world war 2 over seventy million people had died which impacted the world
population negatively by reducing. Also the conflicts has led to population change in countries,
because it had led to emigration of people form their countries to the other trying to avoid the
internal conflicts in their countries which changes the population in an area. Apart from the effects
on population the war also affected economy positively and negatively.

Firstly many economy like the U.S.A economy failed because of the ongoing wars at that time. Many
resources were lost during wars Many buildings were frustrated, the decline of working population
which decreased the collaboration in the economy. Not only did it create unemployment but also it
somehow brought employment because of increase in military people, many people were engaged
in military at that time which created the positivity in economic collaboration and working
population. Bringing the connection between population and economy, the countries which their
economies had worsen by that time also had reduction of population because not only the war killed
many people but also struggle for survival in many countries. Also many economies have expanded
due to the introduction of new skills. It also increased in economic debt between countries, Also the
war had created much of technology in progress , several inventions took place example, the
inventions of radar, space travel, computers etc, because the great nations were trying to show their
power in economy (Myessaybook , 2020). Though the war had negative impacts on economy and
population but also it had positive impacts on human life. It’s through the war that many nations
have got independence and freedom including many African countries they learnt to become
independent after the colonizations by the whites.

The Supra National Institutions Led to a free and secure world by accomplishing the Goal they have
set which give a Common and Security Policy, cooperation in the fields of justice and home affairs ,
and the citizenship Union . They ensured that there is circulation of people freely, freedom to
provide services , freedom for establishment. They also ensured that there is education, public
health, industries, consumer protection etc, (Katie. M, 2015). The world conflicts have led to
destruction of the daily nation routine but this organizations had mend. Though the Wars have led to
increase in health facilities. So the organizations have worked and archived their goal by reuniting
nations through different means. These organizations include TWTO, NAFTA, EU, NATO.

I completely agree that the wars that had been taking place in the world during the 20 th century ,
have both impacted positively and negatively the life’s of human kind. Examples of negative impacts
are ; the reduction of world population, disagreement between nations and mostly the broke down
of many nations economy. On the other side the wars have impacted the human’s life positively ; the
introduction of new cultures and ideas, introduction of education and other social facilities, the
rising of other nations economies and development of technology. Mostly the war was caused by
the struggle for power between strong and superpowers.
