think of when I say Video and Audio
(Students will put their answers on the app)
Conferencing.

Explain
You already have an idea of our topic for today.
Let us first know what audio conferencing and
video conferencing are.
Can you please read Eloiza What is audio
conferencing?
(Eloiza reads the Audio Conferencing)
Audio Conferencing - a meeting among three or
more persons in different locations that typically
use handheld wired telephones, speakerphones,
or mobile phones. Since audio is used during
this conference, it is a must to have a clear
transmission of everyone's voice.
Video Conferencing - is a meeting among
participants in different locations that typically
use computer networks to transmit audio, text,
and video data. To participate in a
videoconference, you must have a video camera,
microphone, speakers, and videoconferencing
software along with your computer with internet
access.
The main advantage of video conferencing over
audio conferencing is that participants can see
each other which allows them to develop a
strong sense of familiarity. Thus, video
conferencing can facilitate collaboration without
requiring face-to-face communication.
(Students will Listen Actively)
After Knowing what audio and video
conferencing let’s move into the different
software that we can use to communicate and
collaborate with others.
Nowadays, making video calls is not as
expensive as before since there are plenty of
free video conferencing software that are
available. Some of them are:
Skype - is a telecommunications application that
specializes in providing video chat and voice
calls between computers, tablets, mobile
devices, and smartwatches over the Internet.
Skype also provides instant messaging services.
Users may transmit text, video,

Google Meet - is a video communication service

developed by Google. It is one of two apps that
constitute the new version of Google Hangouts,
the other being Google Chat

(Students will Listen Actively)

Facebook Messenger is an American messaging

app and platform developed by Facebook, Inc.
Originally developed as Facebook Chat in 2008,
the company changed its messaging service in
2010, and later released standalone 10S and
Android apps in August 2011 and standalone
Facebook Portal hardware for Messenger-based
calling in Q4 2018

Zoom is a full video conferencing suite aimed at

Enterprise-level users, with an attractive free
option. Zoom allows participants to join via the
web, dedicated #apps, browser extensions, and
mobile devices using iPhone and Android apps.
Users can call in via phone if needed. Free users
can also record video or audio locally and share
screens with other conference participants.
Microsoft Teams is your hub for teamwork,
which brings together everything a team needs:
chat and threaded conversations, meetings &
and video conferencing, calling, content
collaboration with the power of Microsoft 365
applications, and the ability to create and
integrate apps and workflows that your
business.

Google Classroom is a suite of online tools that

allows teachers to set assignments, have work
submitted by students, to mark, and return
graded papers. It was created as a way to
eliminate paper in classes and to make digital
learning possible. It was initially planned for use
with laptops in schools, such as Chromebooks,
in order to allow the teacher and students to
more efficiently share information and
assignments.

As more schools have transitioned to online

learning, Google Classroom has gotten far wider
use as teachers quickly implement paperless
instruction. Classrooms work with Google
Docs, Sheets, Slides, Sites, Earth, Calendar, and
Gmail, and can be supplemented by Google
Hangouts or Meet for face-to-face live teaching
or questions.
Again class, what are the different software that (Students will raise their hands)
we can use for audio and video conferencing?
Yes, Christine?
“Google Classroom’
Ria?
“Messenger Teacher”
Jennie?
“Zoom.”
Shaira?
“Google Meet, Skype, and Microsoft Teams
teacher.”
Very Good you are all listening to the teacher.

Next, let us tackle the different audio and video

conferencing guidelines. Virtual meeting
etiquette
Audio and Video Conferencing Guidelines
Before the conference starts, consider the
following:
• Look (for formal video conferencing) - be
concerned about your appearance especially if
the conference is formal. Dark or neutral colors
of clothing are recommended. (The students will raise their hands)
What appropriate clothes must you wear during “A formal shirt or Coat teacher”
a formal meeting?
Very Good!
How about what clothes should be avoided
during a formal meeting? “Sleeveless shirts or no top teacher”

Very Good!
• Equipment - Make sure to set up your
equipment ahead of the scheduled conference so
you can do testing of your camera, headset, and
microphone. Test also the connection early on.
• Preparations (for formal conferencing) - In
case the conference is formal, you must prepare
the agenda of the meeting as well as other
materials needed such as pictures. presentations.
name tags and others for video conferencing
• Venue for formal conferencing - In case the
conference is formal, you must ensure that the
venue is quiet for video conferencing, the
overhead lights and reflections must not be
placed in the camera’s view. Be aware of the
potential distractions.
“Yes, teacher”
Is that clear class?
Now let us move on to what we should do
DURING the conference.
Can someone please read the first guidelines (Students will raise their hand)
during the conference?
(Jed raised his hands, and read)
During the conference, consider the following:
• Wait until the speaker is finished talking
before you respond since there will be a slight
delay before you can hear what the speaker is
saying
• Be courteous and respectful.
* Keep the microphone muted When you are not
speaking
* Avoid excessive movement during a video
conference.
• Speak clearly.
After the conference, leave the venue the way it
was set when you arrived.
Now for the Virtual Etiquette.
Class, does someone know what is etiquette?
(Yafah raised her hand)
Yes, Yafah?
“Teacher etiquette is code of polite behavior
Virtual Meeting Etiquette in society or among members of a particular
profession.”

Excellent Yafah!
Virtual Meeting Etiquette is defined as the
unwritten formal manners and rules that are
followed in online social and professional
settings.
While virtual meetings/classes have likely been
part of your daily work routine for some time
now, it's still easy to fall victim to some major
meeting faux pas. Virtual meeting etiquette is a
whole new ball game compared to in-person
meetings, as many people are learning this.
To help you keep your meetings and classes
productive and professional, follow these seven
simple virtual meeting etiquette rules and tips.
1. Leave the keyboard alone
In attending the virtual meeting, avoid touching
your keyboard so as not to disrupt the flow of
the meeting thus, preventing you from giving
full attention to the proceedings.
Do not play with the keyboard, okay class?
“Yes, teacher”
2. Dress appropriately
Virtual meetings/classes still call for appropriate
attire. It will help you stay focused on
"work" or "study" even if you are miles away
from school.
3. Be aware of your surroundings and
unnecessary objects/things that might be
captured in the background during our natural
cases.

4. Mute your microphone when you're not

talking
Mute your microphone when you are not talking
during virtual classes/meetings This will help
eliminate unnecessary background noise that
can be heard in your environment.
5. Speak up
Identify yourself that you are joining the virtual
classes/meeting.
Ensure that you will be heard by everybody.
So, be polite and choose the words that you will
say is that clear class? “Yes, teacher hazel”

6. No food allowed
Just eat your snack before the start of the virtual
class/meeting or upon the declaration of the
break so as not to distract others or the one
discussing on the platform.
It is disrespectful to eat during the video
conferencing, so do not eat during the video
conferencing, okay?
7. Stay seated and stay present
Stay focused during the entire duration of the
virtual class/meeting. Be attentive.
And that’s it for our discussion.
Elaborate
For our next activity, I will group the class into “Woah, Role-play”
5 groups and each group will perform a role-
play about the proper etiquette in attending a
virtual conference.
Is that clear class? “Yes, teacher”
Any more questions? “When will we perform the role-play teacher?
Oh, great question. You will perform it by “Yes, teacher”
November 17, is that clear?
Evaluate
Now I would see if you really listened to me.
We will have a short activity.
Please Bring out a one-half sheet of paper. And
answer the question that I will present here in
front.
“No teacher”
Is that clear? Any questions or clarifications?
