Demonstrating 2 and 3 Dimensional Figures
Name of Learner: ___________________________
Grade & Section: ___________________________
Name of School: ___________________________
    What I Need to Know
In this lesson, you will learn on how to draw the four basic
shapes (circle, square, rectangle and triangle) and construct
three dimensional objects (solid) using manipulative materials.
This will help you in facing real life situations in the future.
 Lesson
Demonstrating 2 and 3 Dimensional Figures
    1
Learning Competencies:
1.Draws the four basic shapes (M1GE-IIIf-3).
2. Constructs three dimensional objects (solid) using
manipulative materials. ((M1GE-IIIf-4)
    What I know
Try the following activity to test your ability.
Directions: Answer the following questions. Encircle
the letter of the best answer.
The figure shown is made from two shapes. One of
                     the shapes is a half-circle.
  1. What is the other shape?
     A. Rectangle
     B. Square
     C. Triangle
                               1
  2. Which is a triangle?
           A.
           B.
           C.
     Look at the house,
3. What is the shape of its body?
          A. rectangle
          B. square
          C. Triangle
          What’s In
There is another activity for you to answer
before proceeding to the new lesson.
Directions: A. Draw a simple house using the four basic shapes
  (circle= Rectangle= square= and a triangle
Put your answer in the empty box.
                             2
      What’s New
I have here different pictures in columns. The first column
shows 2-dimentional objects (flat objects) which have basic
shapes like circle, rectangle, square and triangle. The second
column shows 3-dimensional shapes like Cube, Rectangular
Prism, Sphere, Cone and Cylinder. Answer the questions about
them below.
            Column A Column B
(Look at the first column to answer 1-4
questions then the second column for the next.)
      Questions:
        1. Which object shows a circle? _____________________
        2. Which object shows a rectangle? ________________
        3. Which object shows a square?____________________
        4. What about the object that has the shape of
                   triangle?_________________
        5. What object represents the cube?________________
        6. What object shows a shape of a Rectangular
                   Prism? _____________________
        7. What object shows a sphere?____________________
        8. What about a cone?____________________________
        9. What about a cylinder?_________________________
        10. Can you site another object with their own
                   shape? ________________________
                             3
    What is it
The four basic shapes with 2- dimensions are circle,
rectangle, square and triangle. The 3-dimensional shapes are
cube, rectangular prism, sphere, cone and cylinder. You can
draw objects using these four basic shapes or 2-dimensional
shapes and construct objects like tower or building using 3-
dimensional shapes. One way of practicing how to draw is by
tracing objects.
Now, try to trace the four basic shapes or the 2-dimensional
shapes like circle, rectangle, square and triangle by using your
pencil. Do the same with 3- dimensional shapes (solid) like cube,
rectangular prism, sphere, cone and cylinder.
      What’s More
You are going to explore on your own.
Activity 1: Draw a robot using the four basic shapes like
circle, rectangle, square and triangle. Draw it inside the box.
                              4
      What I Have Learned
*The four basic shapes with 2- dimensions are circle,
            rectangle, square and triangle.
          * The 3-dimensional shapes are cube, rectangular
            prism, sphere, cone and cylinder.
You can draw objects using these four basic shapes or 2-
dimensional shapes and construct objects like tower or
building using 3-dimensional shapes. One way of
practicing how to draw is by tracing objects.
      What I Can Do
Try to test yourself about the lesson learned by
      answering the following activity:
      A. Directions: Encircle the shape which describes
                       the first shown object.
1.
2.
3.
4.
                              5
 Assessment
Directions: Answer the following questions. Encircle the
             letter of the best answer.
1. What is the shape of the flag?
     A. circle
     B. rectangle
     C. square
2. How many sides a triangle has?
     A. one
     B. two
     C. three
    Look at the house,
 3. What is the shape of its roof?
        A. rectangle
        B. square
        C. Triangle
