IB1 Term 1 Reflective Exercise
Name:
What two IB learner profile attributes do you think you have developed the most so far and are
most proud of? Reflect on how this has come about.
(100-120 words)
I think that “balanced” is a IB learner profile that I have developed the most so far as I think being
balanced in IB is essential to do well and thus to keep everything spread out and be balanced will
allow for greater efficiency in school which is why I can understand the things being taught in school
and gain a comprehensive knowledge. This was brought about by the way the subjects were taught to
me.
Another attribute that I think I have developed is that of “thinker” as in all the subjects I have taken, I
need to be able to think and analyse a situation or task in order to properly understand it and so far
with the methodology of IB I have been developing this skill
Mention one IB learner profile attribute you definitely want to develop further? How might you
accomplish this over the next year?
(50-75 words)
I want to improve the “reflective” attribute a bit further. I can accomplish this over the next year by
being retrospective with my thoughts and learning from the things I have done in the past whether
they be good or bad.

Reflect on your learning in each of your subjects – which subject do you feel you are making the
most progress in and why? What is the most interesting thing you have learned about?
(100-120 words)
I feel like I am making the most progress in Physics as it is generally a hard subject to grasp but I have
seem to found it fine and I am happy with my progress thus far. The reason I think this is that
whenever we have to solve numericals or questions in class, the conceptual understanding is
prevalent and I can logically deduce what to do in the sum. In the case of tests, I am relatively happy
with my performance however I feel like I can improve in topic 1.
The most interesting thing in Physics that I learned about is the derivation of the projectile motion
equations as it was an interesting concept to learn about.
What achievement or breakthrough are you most proud of this term? Please reflect on and explain
how you achieved this.
(80-100 words)
I’m most proud of the achievement that I, along with some of my other friends, started an initiative
called The Modern Parthenon Project that is aimed at bringing political awareness and education to
the students of our school.
So far, the engagement and interaction to our initiative has been good with us releasing regular
articles and informative segments that have helped bring light to important issues often neglected by
the students.
I feel like we have a lot more to expand and explore into and make this project something that’s much
more than just a school oriented project. To achieve this, my team and I will be coming up and
implementing new ideas that further helps strengthen our objectives

What subject do you feel holds the most room for improvement? What is the key to motivating
yourself to improve your learning in this area?
(80-100 words)
I feel like Spanish is a subject that I wouldn’t say has a lot of room for improvement, but relatively
looking as it’s an entirely different language. It is a subject that I feel I need to increase focus on as
sometimes there might be grammar misconceptions and rules that can easily falter my progress in
Spanish. Otherwise I think I’m doing well in Spanish along with actively participating in class as well
and being involved in the subject. Achieving this would be relatively easy if I were to dedicate maybe
15-30 more minutes to this subject.
Do you think you have become a more ‘internationally-minded’ person? Discuss a new perspective
or experience you have had that relates to the greater community and/or world.
(80-100 words)
Yes, I do think that so far, I have become a much more “internationally minded” person as being in
classes such as TOK and Spanish offer new perspectives into the lives of different cultures and people
that have made me sort of “step into their shoes”. A very fond experience of this would be the Day of
the Dead celebration in Spanish as it helped offer insight into Spanish culture and their customs. Being
internationally minded has its perks as it makes me a more open minded and liberal thinker which is a
quality that is necessary for IB.
