Brief Introduction

“Terrible experiments are still ongoing on the island of betrayal. Will you be able
to escape the island?”

Island of Betrayal is a halloween event that takes place in an isolated island being run by
researchers who are performing mental experiments on humans. Experimental Subject units
have escaped the Mansion and are looking for a way to escape the island, while Researcher
units have been deployed to capture the escapists before they escape.
Teased already in the lobby screen before starting the game, Island of Betrayal serves as the
continuation to the Invitation to the Mansion event (Nightmares of the Mansion/Mansion 2022),
where it follows up the Exodus ending after escaping the Mansion. It has similar game
mechanics with the aforementioned event, where in 2 bad guys have to kill 6 good guys who
have to escape their current habitation.

Island of Betrayal also has a similar game play to Black Survival, where players are stuck on an
island, and they scavenge for resources. However, unlike Black Survival, players are split into
two roles: Researcher and Subject. Elaboration of these 2 roles at the Win Condition category
below.

The Island (needs confirmation on location items)

The Butterfly Island


The ‘Butterfly Island ’ is shaped like a Butterfly, with 6 locations in each wing. These locations
have different items and machines in them that can contribute to getting other items or
completing endings. These locations are split proportionally into two separate islands, and the
only things connecting them are the Tideland and the Cable Car vehicle.

From L-R, where in entity #, entity is the type of entity, # determines the level of object to
break/open/operate it, and the color determines what kind of tool or object you need/it is.

Forest - Contains Stone, Mushroom, Soil 1, Thicket 1, Rock 3 (hides Gas Mask), Firewood
-Where the Experimental Thief can be summoned.
-Where the Destroying Angel mushroom can be found, and therefore where Pestilence ending
can be obtained.

Beach - Contains Toy Shovel, Rock 2, Bush 1, Wall 2, Ocean (hides Golden Key)
-By using the Fishing Rod at the Pier, you can fish at the ocean to obtain the Golden Key.

Supermarket - Contains Can, Sack 2, Roof Item 1, Soil 1, Telephone, Vending Machine
-The Vending Machine can give different items by using the Coin or Hammer.
-The Vending Machine is also the source to the Note for the Mercenary.
-Location to obtain Armageddon and Bone Head Play endings.

Cave - Contains Branch, Soil 1, Sack 2, Vine 1, Cave


Inside the Cave - Contains whatsitcalled 3, Butterfly Slot (hides Rope, Guard Soldier)
-You can enter the Cave, but you need a flashlight to see the contents of the cave.
-You can summon the Guard Soldier by exploding the Cave (installing dynamite on the butterfly
slot or pouring water on the Butterfly Carving). More details about the character in the NPC
heading.

Mountain - Contains Climbing Stick, Box 1, Hoop 2, Loudspeaker, Cable Car


-Location to escape for the Serendipity ending, where you use your Flashlight/Mirror Shard at
the Helicopter that appears during 12 PM/PM 00.

Cliff - Contains Sea Shell, Box 1 (hides Hole 3), Telecommunicator


-At the right of the screen, you can see the ocean sprite changing in correspondence to the
tides rising and falling.
-Location to escape for The Selfish Gene ending, and location to start the Evocation ending.
Tideland - Bridge between the two islands that is available from 10am to 4pm and 10pm to
4am.
-Crossing the Tidelands at 3 am/3 pm or waiting until the tide rises will grant you Hydrolysis.

Lab - Contains Railing Rod, Sack 1, Tile 1, Sack 2, Fume Machine 2, Laboratory
Laboratory - Contains Researcher Nurse, Poster 2, Submarine Deposit
Submarine Deposit - Contains Submarine
-At the left of the screen, you can see the ocean sprite changing in correspondence to the tides
rising and falling.
-Location to perform the Destroying Angel, Pandora’s Box, and Salvation endings.

Cable Car - Contains Cogwheel, Box 1, Sack 2, Cable Car Operator, Cable Car
-Activating the Cable Car by using a Level 1+ Security Card allows a separate mode of getting
to the other side of the island.
-The Cable Car vehicle alternates between the Mountain and the Cable Car every hour. Multiple
players may board the Cable Car at the same time.

Power Plant - Contains Cutter Knife, Rock 1, Soil 1, Box 2, Safe 2, Electrical Post 1,
Powerplant Entrance 1
Powerplant Entrance 1 - Contains SP Mercenary
-The only location that features 3 definite items appearing; Butterfly Carving for the Safe,
Electrical Wiring for the Post, and the Mercenary for the Entrance.

Construction Site - Contains Old Shovel, Sewer Grate 1, Box 4, Rubble 2, Mirror 1 (hides
Piece of Mirror)
-Stores the hardest box to obtain, where you need a Rebar to get it.
-Starts the easy Serendipity ending by breaking the Mirror.

Pier - Contains Bucket, Cement Pile 1, Cement Pile 2, Sashimi Knife 1, Fishing Rod 3, Ocean
(hides Fish, Golden Key)
-The only location known to store the Fish and Fishing Rod.
-Location where the rescue team arrives for the Evocation ending.

Mansion - Contains Spoon, Thicket 1 (hides Marble Carving), Tile 2, Sack 1, Mansion Gates 2
(hides Mansion Door)
-Location of the previous experiment, and where the experimental subjects were previously in
before they escaped.
-Prime location to obtain the Stockholm Syndrome ending.

Win Condition
There are 2 roles : Subjects and Researchers.

Subject and Researcher Role Cards

The goal of the 6 Subjects is to escape the Mansion by any means, may it be through killing
other players to obtain their items, or working together to escape.

The goal of the 2 Researchers is to kill all the subjects that have escaped the Mansion. They
may use means such as gathering them together in the tides, separating them to kill one by
one, or using trickery to make subjects kill each other.

Researchers and Subjects can opt to work together and claim an easter egg ending, as it
results in victory for both parties as long as they fulfill the condition of the ending. However,
these endings require maximum cooperation and a lot of time, so unless you que with players
who are trustworthy and will help you, attempting easter egg endings will be hard.

Researchers spawn with one Level 1 Security Card and one Tracker each. They can use these
to access the Cable Car and Megaphone, or locate other players. Meanwhile, subjects spawn
with nothing.

Researchers can know who the other Researcher is by meeting them/encountering them. In
such case, the Researchers will see a red walkie-talkie icon on the other player, signalling the
fact that they are the second Researcher.

Stats
There are 6 different stat categories:
Healthiness - The health of the character.
Highest: Judge
Lowest: Prophet

Offence - The base attack power of the character, which determines the pure damage the
character deals..
Highest: Beast Man > Martyr > Hitman > Mafia
Lowest: Thief

Defense - The base armor of the character, which determines how much damage is negated.
Highest: Prophet
Lowest: Martyr

Resilience - Determines how much HP you can recover by resting.


Highest: Priest
Lowest: Hit Man

Agility - Determines the order of actions, wherein characters with higher agility perform their
ability before others.
Defense > Attack, Movement > Investigate, Exit (in cave, lab, etc), Rest
Highest: Beast Man
Lowest: Ghoul, Judge

Craftsmanship - Determines the probability of rarer items spawning from sacks, boxes, vending
machines, etc.
Highest: Thief
Lowest: Beast Man

As the tier goes up, the stats increase, keeping the same shape. An incomplete list of each
role’s HP can be found here!
Lovers, Cabal, Fanatic, Citizen, Villain are unavailable to play in the event.

NPCs

Non-Player Characters

NPCs can be found hiding on the island, and they usually appear only when a specific order of
actions is completed. Each NPC will be elaborated here.

Experimental Unit Thief


HP : 4000
ATK : 15-20
DEF : Low-Mid
The Experimental Thief can be spawned in the Forest by igniting the wood with a Lighter/Flame
Thrower. Once he spawns, he will continuously follow the player who spawned him as well as
other players. If the player is a subject, he will attack them, dealing small damage but inflicting
poison on the player who was attacked. Poison decreases your HP as the hours pass, and
the amount of HP lost will increase as the game progresses. You can prevent this by wearing a
Gas Mask or cure it by using Antidotes.

Once the Experimental Thief is killed, he will drop a Level 3 Security Card which can be used to
enter the Lab and meet the next NPC.

Researcher Nurse

HP : 140

The Researcher Nurse is a character that attacks both subjects and researchers. She can be
found inside the Lab. She has low health, but has high defense and attack power, so make
sure to use tanks such as Judge, Soldier, or Administrator when fighting her, because her
defense reduces all damage towards her to 5 damage at most..

Once the Research Nurse is killed, you can obtain the Pandora’s Box ending.

Search Party Mercenary

The SP Mercenary is an NPC that can be found at the Powerplant by breaking the wooden
boards that are blocking the entrance to the Powerplant. He does not attack unless provoked,
and will not move away from his post unless he hears the Soldier agent code.

The SP Mercenary can be killed as a step to obtain the Bone Head Play ending, or helped by
mentioning the 8-Digit Agent Code to him as a step to obtain the Resistance ending.

Research Facility Guard Soldier

HP : 5000
ATK : 20-200(depends on defense)
DEF : Low-Mid
The Guard Soldier is an NPC that can be found at the Caves. By exploding the caves using
dynamite, or butterfly sculpture and water, you can summon the Guard Soldier. His dialogue
changes for every 1250 HP he loses, and he drops a Weapon Level 35 Modified Rifle.

Items

Inventory List

Items can be found all throughout the island and some require the use of other tools to
get, while others can be found out in the open. Here is a list of each category of items.

Using items on environmental objects such as sacks, boxes, soil, etc. reduces 3
durability points from the item. Using the item as an armor, weapon, or rest item will only
deduct 1 durability point.

Hardness objects can be used to break boxes around the map. The levels range from 1-4. The
hardest object is a Hammer.

Shovel objects can be used to dig up abnormal soil bumps and cement in portions of the map.
The levels range from 1-2. The shovel-est object is a Field Shovel.
Armor objects can be used as Defense items whenever you encounter a Player or NPC. The
levels range from 1-35. The strongest defense item is a Riot Shield.

Sharpness objects can be used to cut open sacks scattered around the map. The levels range
from 1-4. The sharpest object is a Sabre.

Medical Supply objects can be used as Rest items whenever you have low HP. The levels
range from 1-300. The most efficient item is Antibiotics.

String objects can be used to pull out grates and hoops. The levels range from 1-3. The longest
string object is a Rope.

Weapon objects can be used as Attack items whenevr you encounter a Player or NPC. The
levels range from 1-35. The strongest weapon is a Modified Rifle obtained by killing the Guard
Soldier.

Rod objects can be used to reach high places or lift heavy rocks. The levels range from 1-4.
The longest object is a Rebar.

Card Key objects can be used to access certain machines and locations of the map. The
highest level card is a Level 3 Security Card, obtained by killing the Experimental Thief.

Miscellaneous Objects are objects that have a different label which is not enough to classify as
a category for that object. These items are listed below:
● Coin (Coin Level 1)
● Magazine, Book (Inflammable Level 1)
● Magazine on Fire, Book on Fire (Burnt Level 1)
● Tracker (Tracker Level 1)
● Filled Bucket (Water Level 1)
● Golden Key (Key Level 1)

Endings

Mansion 2019 Event Ends…

There are a total of 15 endings. This involves…

Death Endings : Dead Men Tell No Tales, Armageddon, Pestilence, Hydrolysis, Heterozygote
-These 5 endings are obtained by means of dying, either by getting killed by a player or NPC,
exploding the phone, dying of poison, drowning in the tidelands, or getting left behind. Apart
from Armageddon, these endings decrease your RP.

Win Endings (Researcher) : Initialization, Destroying Angel


-These 2 endings are obtained usually by eradicating all subjects as a researcher, may it be by
manually killing each subject or poisoning them with the Destroying Angel mushroom. Both
endings will increase your RP by ~300.

Win Endings (Subject) : Evocation, Serendipity


-These 2 endings are obtained by escaping the island through many means, such as calling the
rescue team by the pier or signaling a helicopter. These endings will increase your RP, and if
any player gets them, every other player will receive the Heterozygote ending.

Win Endings (Common) : Salvation, The Selfish Gene


-These 2 endings can be obtained by both researchers and subjects. They may be obtained by
accessing a submarine in the laboratory or taking a jetski and jumping off the cliff.These endings
will increase your RP, and if any player gets them, every other player will receive the
Heterozygote ending.

Easter Egg Endings : Stockholm Syndrome, Pandora’s Box, Resistance, Bone Head Play
-These 4 endings are special endings that can be obtained by both researchers and subjects,
and will involve lots of cooperation, teamwork, and patience. These endings can be obtained by
killing a major NPC, returning to the Mansion, or reuniting lost connections, and will usually give
a good amount of RP.

Rewards
Me getting the rarest item in the game

After finishing a game, you will get RP, which determines your placement on the leaderboard,
and Research Notes, which you can pack with Clipboards from the store. Use a Clipboard and
1000 Records to obtain a prize. The more expensive the Clipboard, the higher chances of a
good reward.
