Reflection Paper
1) What Are the Core Concepts and Theories You've Mastered?
- I learned more about more complicated parts of CAD during the midterm time. I learned how to use
parametric tools, which are an important part of modern CAD programs. It helped me understand how
to use CAD software to make plans that are more flexible and dynamic by teaching me about
geometric constraints and how they work, as well as the Parameters Manager and inferred
constraints.
2) What New Skills or Techniques Have You Developed?
- During this time, many difficult skills were learned. I learned how to use parametric tools well, which
let me make patterns that were more flexible and easier to control. Knowing about geometric limits
and how to manage parameters has made my drawing skills a lot better. I'm also better at making and
managing blocks, like annotative and bursting blocks. This skill is very important for quick and well-
organized drawing, especially when working with complicated patterns.
3) What Challenges Did You Encounter, and How Did You Overcome Them?
- One big problem was getting a handle on how complicated parametric tools and limits are. At first, it
was hard for me to figure out how to use these tools effectively in my projects. But with consistent
practice and studying the materials given. I was able to fully grasp the subject and become proficient
in using it. The exercise that involved scaling was also hard. At first, getting accurate results when
scaling was hard, but I got better at it by practicing regularly and asking teachers and peers for help.
4) How Will Your Learning Benefit Your Future Career as a Civil Engineer?
- The advanced skills and information I learned during this time will help me a lot in my future job as a
construction engineer. I will be able to make accurate and highly detailed engineering plans once I
know how to use parametric tools, make section views, and manage blocks. To plan, design, and
carry out civil engineering tasks, you need to have these skills. My better ability to make and
understand complicated drawings will make working with other professionals in the field a lot easier.
These skills will help me be a better and more helpful civil engineer by making my work faster and
more accurate.
