all must have multiple skills and be specialised in at least two specific technical areas.
Although engineering subjects are large and extensive, recent engineering graduates may
not be able to meet current industry requirements, as noted above. To fill this gap, engineers
in the new trade must be trained and certified in the Certification Program and have the
equivalent of an QA / QC engineer with at least 3-5 years of active industrial experience.

PHASED ARRAY ULTRASONIC TESTING
The phased array course provides the knowledge required to perform manual & encoded
phased array testing on butt welds in Plates, Pipes and Pressure Vessels. The course covers
theoretical and practical aspects on phased array application, its advantages and limitations.
The course also covers the requirements for application of phased array as per code
requirements. To impart adequate understanding for onsite application, our training is done
using all necessary accessories such as calibration blocks, validation samples, encoder,
scanners for different size applications, etc.
For this course, we strongly recommend participants possess knowledge in UT weld
examination as Level II. At the end of the course, examination shall be conducted. The training
programme shall be conducted by experienced PAUT practitioners and academic professionals
who have been working in the application of PAUT.
EDDY CURRENT TESTING
Eddy current testing is one of several non-destructive testing methods that use the
electromagnetism principle. Conventional eddy current testing utilises electromagnetic
induction to detect discontinuities in conductive materials. A specially designed coil energised
with alternating current is placed in proximity to the test surface generating changing
magnetic-field which interacts with the test-part producing eddy current in the
vicinity.Variations in the changing phases and magnitude of these eddy currents is then
monitored. The electrical conductivity variations or magnetic permeability of the test-part, or
the presence of any discontinuities, will cause a change. The changes are shown on a screen
for easy interpretation.

The Certification Scheme for Welding and Inspection Personnel is a comprehensive scheme
which provides for the examination and certification of individuals seeking to demonstrate
their knowledge and/or competence in their field of operation. The scope of Certification
Scheme for Welding and Inspection Personnel includes all levels of Welding Inspectors,
Welding Supervisors, Plant Inspectors, Welding Instructors, Underwater Inspectors and NDT
personnel.

CSWIP 3.2 SENIOR WELDING INSPECTOR
The CSWIP Senior Welding Inspector course is designed for experienced welding inspectors
and quality control staff, especially those who are proceeding to the CSWIP Senior Welding
Inspector examination. It is essential that you have a knowledge of the subjects covered in the
CSWIP Welding Inspector course before joining this senior welding inspector course. It is also
advised that you do some home preparation ahead of this course as it covers a wide range of
subject matter.
It is your responsibility as examination candidate to either hold CSWIP Welding Inspector or
consider attending the CSWIP Welding Inspector course and examination (WIS5E) prior to this
course/examination
BGAS GR-2 PAINTING INSPECTOR COURSE
This programme addresses numerous paint types and
systems used in the construction industry and is
suitable for candidates with or without experience in
industrial painting. The course is largely theoretical but
involves hands-on experience with relevant inspection
equipment and a bias towards British Gas/National Grid
painting practices. Most candidates attending this
course would go on to attempt the Painting Inspector
Grade approval.
