           INTRODUCTION
Electricity is the vital source to energy in the 21st century. Human cannot
wait for a minute without electricity. So, for lighting, and driving different
appliances electricity connection is more important for future
perspective. Wiring is important for smooth connection of supply with
load. Wiring is done different method.
       Different wiring methods are:
           1) Cleat Wiring (Temporary wiring)
           2) Batten Wiring
           3) Casing -Capping Wiring (Wood, PVC)
           4) Conduit Wiring (PVC, Rigid PVC, Metal)
           5) Concealed Wiring (Metal, PVC).
           6) Hybrid Wiring (Mix of above methods)
Factors affecting the choice of wiring:
          1. Durability
          2. Safety
          3. Appearance
          4. Cost
          5. Accessibility
          6. Maintenance.
From fire safety point of view, concealed wiring is found best with
joint-less method of connection. External fire cannot damage the
wiring, and provide light for safe escape, and in case of electrical
short-circuit, the fire arrested within wall, and cannot produce external
  fire.
Here we discuss with the Casing -Capping Wiring
 Note :
     1. Either 800 watt or 10 points, whichever is less, would be connected from
each single way from Distribution Box (DB).
     2. For future extension of load provision should be kept for either 20%
excess of total watt or sufficient excess points.

             PROCEDURE
The whole procedure of the casing and capping wiring is stated
below: -
  • At first, electrical drawing is studied and take down material
list and tools of the wiring installation, as per tables.
  • The tools list was prior given, and we take all tools as per
    list.
  • Then the materials are bought from the JU office workshop.
  • A small idea made by team members.
  • Thereafter casing and capping are cut as per size.
  • Then main switch is installed.
  • After that SPNDB is installed as per figure.
  • Switch board is also installed with proper switch connection.
  • Then casing is fixed with screw on the wall as required.
  • Then wires are cut by wire stripper and laying as per
    diagram.
  • Then power plug point is fixed as per diagram.
  • Switches are also interconnected as per diagram.
  • An earth bus is also installed, with a proper measurement of
    the system.
  • Earth wire is also connected with the system with green
    wire.
  • Holder is installed for bulb connection.
  • Ceiling rose is installed for fan connection.
  • A bell push switch is installed for a bell connection.
  • At last, whole connection is completed as per circuit
    diagram and gone for testing.
                 TESTING
Testing is taken a vital role for s installing electrical
system. Here testing is also done after the wiring. At
first visual checking of all wires terminals for
connection is done.
  • Insulation Resistance is checked by IR megger.
    With load off condition.
     Sl. No. Position IR Value
       01 Phase-Neutral 200MΩ
       02 Phase-Earth 200MΩ
       03 Neutral - Earth 200 MΩ
With load ON & connected condition.
     Sl. No. Position IR Value
       01 Phase+Neutral - Earth 200MΩ
       02 Phase – Earth 150MΩ
       03 Neutral – Earth 150 MΩ
       04 Phase - Neutral 0 MΩ
  • Then continuity test is also done by series lamp test
method before power up. The result is ok.
  • A load is connected with all respective points and
the results will be response ok.
  • At last, the wiring is completed.
 Remarks: -
➢ From my side the wiring diagram is ok.
➢ Casing and capping are not straight because of lack of
measurement, and absence of level pipe (water column).
➢ I learn the overview of a casing capping wiring.
➢ I also learn about the switch connection and electric bell
     connection.
➢ I learn that the estimation and costing of a electrical
     installation.
➢ Precaution during IR-megger test is well informed.
➢ Reason of Series lamp testing is verified by making
     deliberately shorting for fault.
Conclusion: -
In conclusion, the report on casing and capping wiring
highlights the importance of these protective measures in
electrical installations. Casing provides a secure
enclosure for wiring, safeguarding it from physical
damage and environmental factors. Meanwhile, capping
ensures a neat and organized appearance while offering
additional protection. Together, these practices contribute
to the safety, longevity, and efficiency of electrical
systems, making them essential considerations in any
 wiring project.
