Squeezable Sheep

An amigurumi design by Tracey MacIntyre

You will need:

Worsted weight yarn in 2 colors (I used Red Heart Soft
Touch, off-white & beige)
3mm crochet hook
Scrap of yarn for the neck ribbon
Black embroidery thread for the nose & eyebrows
6mm safety eyes
Blush

Abbreviations:
Inc = Increase 2 sc into next sc
Dec = Decrease crochet next 2 sc together
Sc = single crochet
Hdc = half double crochet
Dc = double crochet
Slst = slip stitch
(brackets) = repeat until end of row
[square brackets] = all in one stitch
Color A (beige in picture)
Color B (off-white in picture)

This pattern is crocheted in continuous rounds. A marker

is useful to mark the beginning of each round.

Head:
Make 6 stitches in a magic ring with color A
1- (inc) 12 stitches
2- (1 sc, inc) 18 stitches
3- (2 sc, inc) 24 stitches
4- (3 sc, inc) 30 stitches
5 & 6 & 7 & 8- (sc even) 30 stitches
9- (3 sc, dec) 24 stitches
10- (sc even) 24 stitches
11- (2 sc, dec) 18 stitches
12- (sc even) 18 stitches
13- (7 sc, dec) 16 stitches
Switch to color B (remember to add safety eyes & stuff
head before the hole is too small to work with)
14 & 15 & 16- (sc even) 16 stitches
17- (6 sc, dec) 14 stitches
18- (dec) 7 stitches
Break 18” of yarn, finish off & close hole

Ears:
(Make 2)
Make 6 stitches in a magic ring with color B
1- (sc even) 6 stitches
2- 3 sc, [1 hdc, 1 dc] in next stitch, [3 dc] in next
stitch, finish off leaving tail for sewing ear to
head.
Sew ears on to head using picture as a guide (One will be
reversed, so they are both shaped as mirror images)
Embroider nose & eyebrows, and add a bit of blush to cheeks
& the inside of the sheep’s ears. Now she can sheepishly
watch you create the rest of her!
Body:
With color B make 6 stitches in a magic ring. Remember to
stuff body before hole is too small.

2 & 3 & 4 (sc even) 12 stitches

Break 18” of yarn and finish off (do not close hole),
leaving yarn tail to sew on legs. Stuff legs. Attach head
& legs to body.

Tail:
With color B
Loop yarn through body where you would like the tail.
Chain 4. Skip first chain and sc 3 back to body. Slst
into body, and weave in yarn ends.
Neck ribbon:

With some scrap yarn, chain as many loops as you would like
the scarf to be long. Finish off, and tie ribbon around
neck.

To make the cute crocheted heart the sheep are pictured

with, I used a pattern on Ravelry called:
Crocheted amigurumi-style heart
by littleberry

To make the large sheep, I used the exact same pattern as

above, but I used Super Bulky weight yarn, and a 5.5mm
crochet hook.

There now, give her a squeeze! ^_^
