SERIES OF 2023

AN ORDER RECONSTITUTING THE BARANGAY NUTRITION


COUNCIL OF BARANGAY DASAY, SAN JUAN, LA UNION

WHEREAS, proper nutrition for our children is a must for them to grow
physically anf mentally fit so that they may become active in their early and
formative years which stage is very critical of how would they become in their
learning or schooling;

WHEREAS, improper nutrition or malnutrition affects the physical growth and


mental development of a child thereby affecting also his/her academic
performance. Malnourished children are usually observed to be slow learners and
lack interest in going to School;

WHEREAS, Malnutrition if not prevented will result to recurring illness among


children due to lack of resistance and immunity to bacteria; and viral infection
which in some cases results to deaths;

WHEREAS, the Barangay Nutrition Council is deemed to be the proper body that
would see to it that proper nutrition program and activities would be carried out
in the barangay;

WHEREFORE, foregoing premises considered, by the virtue of the power vested


in me by the Local Government Code of 1991 also known as Republic Act 7160. I
Rosalinda C. Pal-et, Punong Barangay, hereby reconstitute the Barangay
Nutrition Council of Barangay Dasay, San Jun, La Union to be composed of the
following;

Chairman: Rosalinda C. Pal-et- Punong Barangay


Vice Chairman: Alfredo A. Cabanbant -SB Chair. on Health
MEMBERS: Lenie S. Abat – SB Chair. On Family Welfare
Leonardo J. Velasco – SB Chair. On Appropriation
Danilo C. Cabading– SB Chair. On Agriculture
Brenda S. Villaverde-SB Chair. On Environment and Disaster
Management
Shiela C. Cabanban – SK Chairperson
Lorence G. Lim - Brgy. Midwife
Marilyn V. Laroya – Brgy. Nutrition Scholar
Marie Joy Agbunag – Day Care Worker
Paulina C. Catignas– BHW President
Joan G. Moises– Brgy. Tresurer

DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

The Duties and Functions of the Barangay Nutrition Council shall be the
following:

1. Formulate and implement local food and nutrition policies, plans


and intervention for nutrition improvement.
2. Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the plan
for Nutrition improvement.
3. Identify and mobilize local resources for Nutrition Intervention
program and activities.
4. Advocate local support for the Nutrition Plan of Action to sustain
the Municipal Nutrition Program.

EFFECTIVITY. This Executive Order takes effect immediately. Any existing order
found inconsistent thereto shall be deemed repealed or modified.
