After watching the videos, students will actively engage in a 20-minute discussion to express their
understanding of the movie characters and types.

Vocabulary Note-taking (30 minutes):


Following the discussion, students will spend the remaining 30 minutes writing the new words they learned in
their notebooks, preparing for the quiz scheduled for the end of the lesson.
This breakdown provides a clear structure for the lesson, ensuring an effective use of time for media
consumption, discussion, and vocabulary reinforcement. Adjustments can be made based on the specific
needs and dynamics of the class.

Group Learning Activities This whole lesson is going to be a group learning
activity as they are going to have a discussion.
Summary
In this class, students will watch short videos about different types of movies. After that, we'll talk together
about what kind of movie we saw and what the characters were like. Students will also write down any new
words they learn during this activity. During our class discussions, we'll see how well students can share their
thoughts, describe different movie types, and talk about the characters' traits. We want to see that students
understand and are interested in the material. To help them learn new words, we'll have a quick quiz that
includes the words they've learned in this unit. This way, we can check if they understand the meanings and
how to use these new words. This approach aims to make learning about movies and expanding vocabulary a
fun and engaging experience for students.
Measurement & Evaluation
As for the vocabulary part, they are going to have a quiz at the end of the lesson, and in order to be succesful
they have to get a minimum of %70. And for the discussion part, the teacher is going to observe students’
performance and evaluate accordingly.

scenario where the time limit for watching the provided videos about the topic is not sufficient, the amount of

can respond clearly and use simple sentences in these spontaneous interactions. This activity aims to

After each presentation, there will be a brief Q&A session where the other students ask questions and the two
students answer these questions. Teacher will observe the performance of the two based on their presentation

will work together all the time as a group.

Summary
In this activity, students will work together in small groups (3-4 people) to make posters about a movie they
pick. They will use simple sentences and phrases to describe the movie and its characters. After that, they will
exchange their posters with other groups and try to understand what each group created. There will be a
gallery walk where students move around the class to see and think about everyone's posters. Students will
get a reflection sheet to share their thoughts and opinions about the activity. This helps everyone learn and
understand more about different movies in a fun way.

Providing a group activity to keep students engaged about the topic, it requires brainstorming and
colloboration as they are going to prepare a poster together as groups. After the exchange of the posters,
hanging the posters on the walls as to host a gallery-walk, in which students will reflect on each other’s
posters. In a scenario where the lesson time is not enough for students to prepare their posters, they will be
assigned to do the activity in home within one week.
