1.
Topic 1: GENERATION GAP
Talk about conflicts between you and one of the members in your family and give
advice on how to solve the problems.
what it was about
who you had this disagreement with
how you resolved it
and explain what happened after the disagreement.
2. Topic 3: BECOMING INDEPENDENT
Talk about the skills necessary for people to live independently and reason why they are
important.
Being independent is being able to take care of yourself, and not having to rely on
anyone else. That is what many young people strive for. However, the ability to live
independently does not develop naturally: you need a number of life skills to stop
relying on your parents and older siblings
There are some needed virtues that should be gained to be an independent person.
Firstly, it is finding information skill that helps you think independently and make your
own decisions. It promotes problem solving approaches and make you become a self-
reliant person. Coping with loneliness is the second important virtue. Lacking this skill
may make you feel depressed, and you are likely to make wrong decisions about your
life. Last but not least, teens should learn how to set a goal and persistently pursue it. A
teen who knows how to track his progress is possible to stay motivated. In short,
equipping with above skills is a big step in preparing girls or boys for independence and
leading a successful life in the future.
3. Topic 4: CARING FOR THOSE IN NEED
Talk about your voluntary work that you have done. What you can do for the
community and the reason why you chose it.
When it was
Where it was
Why you volunteered
And explain how you felt
It was the day when my school decided to take our batch of students to a village in in the
countryside and make us aware of their tradition, culture, and their lifestyle. There we got the
opportunity to visit the school that was located in that place. After seeing the environment of the
school, our principal decided to help them to make it better. The volunteering activity I was
involved in was cleaning and gardening the school which was part of the renovation.
As a city-born kid, I was very much excited to visit the village to enjoy nature and the
environment. When my school decided to take our class students to the village, I enrolled my
name without hesitation. Regarding volunteering, I was always keen to volunteer for social
activities. Also, taking part in the renovation is my favourite. I was very much happy after seeing
the final results of the renovation. Firstly, all students were gathered as a group irrespective of
age and work for the upgradation of the school. I got many friends from other classes. I was part
of the cleaning and gardening team and some of my friends took part in painting and drawing on
walls. Finally, the school looks neat and clean and I was very much satisfied with my work.
At last, it was a great experience volunteering for the development of the school. And, the people
and kids situated near the school saw the renovation and appreciated all of us and the teachers.
The happiness on all of the kids' faces is priceless.
One needs to do several things in order to maintain a healthier lifestyle.
Good Habit
A good habit is a key factor for a healthy lifestyle. To maintain a stable body and mind, one
needs to inculcate good habits. Waking up early in the morning, regularly exercising or a good
morning walk helps to keep our body energetic and refresh our mind. Maintaining a balanced
and nutritious diet throughout the day is vital for maintaining a good lifestyle. Too much
indulgence in alcohol or smoking excessively is not at all appropriate for a healthy lifestyle.
By adopting a healthy lifestyle one can avoid lifestyle diseases. The following are some ways
in which we can prevent lifestyle diseases.
Eat a balanced diet that contains important nutrients. One must include more fresh fruits
and green vegetables in the diet. Refrain from eating junk food. Stay away from foods
that contain large amounts of salt or sugar.
Exercise regularly. Spend more time outdoors and do activities such as walking,
running, swimming, and cycling.
One must avoid overindulgence in alcohol, junk food, smoking, and addiction to drugs
and medicines.
Avoid spending too much on modern gadgets like mobile phones, laptops, televisions,
etc. Spend time on these gadgets for short intervals of time only.
Set a healthy sleeping routine for every day. Waking early in the morning and going to
bed early at night should be a daily habit. Lead an active life.
Conclusion
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle not only makes a person confident and productive but also
drives him to success. A person with a healthy lifestyle will enjoy both personal and social life
What are the most common generation gaps in your family?
I would be lying if I say that I always get on well with my family. I live in a nuclear family,
which means there are 3 generations in one house. Therefore, generation gap is unavoidable.
One of the most common generation gaps I see is when it comes to technology. My
grandparents, who are from an older generation, find it hard to understand all the new gadgets
and social media platforms that my generation, Gen Z, is so familiar with. They prefer doing
things the old-fashioned way, and it can be a bit challenging to explain to them how things
work in the digital age. Another generation gap I notice is related to communication styles. My
grandparents and parents often prefer face-to-face conversations or phone calls, while my
friends and I are more likely to use text messages or social media to stay connected. Older
generations might prefer reading the news from a newspaper while younger generations get
their news from an app.
A generation gap refers to the differences in beliefs, values, attitudes, and behaviors between
individuals of different age groups. This can occur between parents and their children, or
between different generations in society. This is doubtlessly a common issue in families. But
there are still some ways to overcome this problem.
Having strong communication skills that enable various generations to comprehend and
value one another’s perspectives is crucial for bridging the generational divide. In order to
forge connections and promote understanding, it is essential to practice active listening,
empathy, and openness to new ideas.
The age gap can also be reduced by encouraging intergenerational interactions and providing
chances for older and younger generations to collaborate and learn from one another.
If I had the opportunity to visit an ASEAN country, I would choose to visit Vietnam. Vietnam
is a country located in Southeast Asia, and is known for its beautiful landscapes, rich culture,
and delicious food. The country has a long history, with many ancient temples and landmarks
to explore. It is also home to a diverse range of ecosystems, from mountains and forests to
beaches and islands.
One of the reasons I would like to visit Vietnam is because of its food. Vietnam is famous for
its fresh, flavorful dishes like pho, banh mi, and spring rolls. I would also love to try some of
the local specialties, such as bun cha and banh xeo.
Another reason I would like to visit Vietnam is because of its stunning natural beauty. The
country is home to breathtaking beaches, such as Phu Quoc Island and Nha Trang, as well as
beautiful national parks and forests. I would love to explore the mountains and rice terraces in
the north, and visit the iconic Ha Long Bay.
Overall, I think Vietnam is a fascinating and diverse country that has something to offer for
everyone. I would love the opportunity to learn more about its culture and history, and
experience all that it has to offer.
These days, roof gardens have become more and more popular in urban areas. In my opinion,
this trend could bring a lot of benefits.
The world is facing a number of environmental issues, such as waste disposal, deforestation,
biodiversity…you name it. The problem I’d like to draw more attention to today, though, is
global warming – one that has understandably attracted much public attention. And id like to
talk about the causes behind this phenomenon.
Cutting down or burning forests releases carbon dioxide, but burning coal, oil, and gas also
contribute to global warming. When fossil fuels are burnt, they release greenhouse gases that
trap heat in the atmosphere and leads to global warming. Raising farm animals like goats,
sheep, and cows also contributes to global warming. These animals produce a lot of methane,
which is responsible for nearly one-third of current global warming. Cutting down forests to
make space for farm animals also contributes to global warming.. Deforestation leads to more
carbon dioxide in the air, and forests store carbon in the trees and soil, which helps reduce
global temperature. When forests are cut down, the carbon is released into the atmosphere,
which contributes to global warming.
Although global warming is not a new occurrence and has been a worry since before
civilization, the danger is only getting worse over time. Global warming can be reduced
by following simple ways.
Afforestation: Every individual should take up an oath to plant at least five trees a year.
This will lead to an increase in the number of trees, ultimately reducing the overall
temperature.
Reduce, Reuse and Recycle: We should focus on reducing the use of fossil fuels and
other products, which lead to the production of harmful gases. Reusing means repetitive
use of a single product. We must focus on reusing products to omit the disposing
procedure, which leads to the production of harmful greenhouse gases. One must also
focus on recycling paper, glass, newspaper, etc., which can reduce carbon dioxide
production, ultimately reducing global warming.
Reduce Hot Water Use: We should reduce the unnecessary use of hot water that leads
to the production of carbon dioxide. A recent study shows that high hot water usage
leads to an approximate output of 350 pounds of carbon dioxide.
Buy Better Bulbs: It’s observed that traditional bulbs consume more energy as
compared to LED bulbs. LED bulbs approximately conserve 80 per cent of the energy
that might get wasted using traditional ones. So, one must shift to efficient and energy-
conserving bulbs, which will ultimately help reduce global warming.
