The Environmental engineering branch is in the process of gaining recognition as a dynamic and
impactful career path. It is still an unconventional stream to choose during engineering.
However, choosing the path that is less travelled is challenging as well as exciting. I embrace this
path and my unconventional career choice as it excites me to know about Earth’s diverse
environmental conditions. During my training, I realized the ever-increasing problems from
climate change, global warming, improper waste management, conventional energy usage, water
shortage, wastewater management etc. and it drives me to work in this domain. As the problems
are well-rooted and widely spread, they cannot be solved by an individual, it requires the
community, government, relevant stakeholders, associations, NGOs, startups etc. to contribute
solutions with the mission to rejuvenate the mother earth.
Taking forward the mission, I want to pursue it with one of the oldest and most renowned
organisations i.e., The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). In this direction, CII has taken an
initiative “Cleaner Air - Better life” with the vision to provide cleaner air and a better quality of
life to every Indian citizen by involving industry leaders to take concrete steps to curb air
pollution across India.
My training and nature of inquisitiveness in this domain qualify me as the best candidate who
can pull over the stated job responsibilities to accomplish the vision aligned with this initiative.
My past experiences from internship to working in a deep tech space company trained me with
extensive engagement and coordination with various stakeholders in India as well as across the
globe such as businesses, government agencies, foundations/NGOs, etc. To reach out to them I
inculcated strong communication and interpersonal skills. I equipped myself with some tools
such as Zoho Customer Relationship Management to maintain the contact database in an
organised manner. It made me and my team efficient in planning, executing engagement
strategies and incorporating feedback constructively and effectively. My research internship at
CSIR-Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) gave me an opportunity to do primary research (in-
ground experience) and broaden my knowledge in this field as well. My experiences also involve
catering to various sets of responsibilities spanning from creating qualitative reports, and
presentations & to handling social media platforms for the event’s content within the time
constraints.
The diversity and capability with the required educational background in my profile and the gist
of contributing to this initiative make me a suitable individual.
