too. It is because of a materialistic view. The
person may not also find satisfaction in family relationships with father, mother
and sibling5, and looks beyond the immediate family for fulfilling relationships.
The person wants good education, good health, social recognition and also a
good disposable income and a lucrative business orjob.
Many of such things may actually be necessary for the smooth flow of life, but
true happiness may still elude a man. As Osho believes that life goes througn
man and comes out of man. The process is continuous and is never broken, and
thus it is life which is ever-flowing and which exists and man is nothing and in
reality, does not exist at all. We may say that it is only a deception whicn we
perceive with our senses and mind. Accordingly, it changes like the magic show
of a magician which we find true and
convincing as long as we witness it.
In this context, should have faith in Lord Buddha's

understanding oneself is indeed theproblem. With his principle, "Know
Thyself", Socrates puts the toughest question to mankind. Some other
philosophers believe "Mind has its own place and can make in itselfa heaven of
hell and a hell of heaven."
Inthe modern age, many claim to change hellinto heaven and we must listen to
them even if we do not believe them. They are the practitioners of yoga,
spirituality, etc. Besides them, even commercial companies dealing in cars,
mobiles, airconditioners, etc; the artists and the writers as well as the singers
also claim to be providing happiness. However, if we have even a bit of spiritual
bent of mind, we may hear the voice of God within ourselves, "O man! All the
potentiality for happiness is within you. Don't seek happiness outside your
mind and heart."
This may be one side of the picture. Sociologists may tell us that we should
learn to socialise. Socialisation, self-expression and the praise of those who
deserve it, increase happiness. It may seem strange but it is true that even
atheists are likely to get happiness in a spiritual congregation. It is not just the
belief in God that gives us happiness, but also the peaceful atmosphere that
prevails in such places.
One maythink of pilgrimages and religious functions in the same vein. It may be
true that one may not be able to find God by making pilgrimages, by
worshipping idols or by attending religious functions. But the question is, why
do we want to search God? Actually, nobody wants to have God for his own
sake. We want God because we believe that thereby we can get immortal
happiness. So, actually, our real search is for happiness.
We can simply say that pilgrimages, idol-worship and religious functions give us
peace of mind which is a prerequisite to happiness. We should have
the attitude that in whatever innocent way a person can have peace of
mind, contentment, satisfaction and happiness, such a course is beneficial for
them.
The real difficulty arises when we become superstitious and we have preachers
who instead of delivering to us the real peace of mind and happiness, try to
fleece us financially and make us slaves and pawns in their hands to feather

It is now recognised that a positive attitude promotes health and happiness
es
and a negative attitude negates it. Health is a prerequisite to happiness, even
more than money. Money can buy luxuries, but not necessarily health, If
money were everything, the rich would not have ever fallen ill or ever die. A
pauper can be healthy and happy and a rich magnate may not be.
Happiness also lies in helping others. A good turn done always brings
inner
happiness and balance. A way of spirituality is
surely a way to everlasting
happiness. We never find a genuine saintly man sad and unhappy. Those who
give up evils and vices like
drinking, gambling and drug consumption can
become happy. Lord Buddha was
right in saying that desire is the root cause of
man's unhappiness. The rat race for
money and luxuries always upsets tne

CREATIVE THINKINNG
Creative thinking is a way of looking at problems or situations from a fresh perspective that
suggests unorthodox solutions which may even look to be unsettling at first. Creative
thinking can be stimulated by unstructured process like brainstorming or a structured
process like lateral thinking. Let us learn about the steps of the creative thinking process.
Steps to Develop Creative Thinking
One can master creative thinking by following the
given steps.
1. Analysis - You begin by looking over the situation. You should take in
everything you can
about the situation. Get details and ask questions. You must
really get to know the
situation at this point itself. Try to find out 'who', 'what', 'where',
'when', and 'how' of
the situation. Once your analysis is
complete, you should be able to explain the
situation completely including any obvious problems or issues.
2. Brainstorming This step is the of creative thinking.
-
essence Once you gather
knowledge about the situation, you can start thinking about it. You can brainstorm in
any manner that works for you. You may just think of wild ideas and pen them down.
Whatever works for you is best to do. Brainstorming can take on many forms. You can
write things down, talk things out or even conduct
experiments.
3. Break it down -When you have a
good collection of ideas, you can start examining them
and rejecting the ones which are of no use. You
may even find that slight change in some
ideas would make them much better. This step is all about
modifying your ideas. Finally,
you should end up with ideas that may prove to be good solutions.
4. Review- The final step involves
reaching your final ideas. This step helps you to come up
with one or two ideas that seem to stand out and are the best ideas. You
should carefully
examine the ideas you are left with to narrow yourself down to one credible idea.
You
should then detail the things and plan about its
implementation.
How to Become a Creative Thinker?
Becoming a creative thinker is about training your mind and making conscious efforts to
be more creative. Developing skills in music and arts
go a long way towards helping you
to become a creative thinker. These types of activities open
up the creative area of the
brain. They allow a person to let go of his rational thoughts and free the
space in the
brain so as to accommodate more creativity. Moreover, instead of
do
sitting idle, you can
brainstorming on any idea. If you are committed in your approach, you soon becomne
a creative thinker.
Suggestion for the Teacher
Encourage the children to be selfless in their attitude. Tell them that material
possessions do not give true happiness.
