SMK 58 Logo Etching Guide

Nisrina created a logo product for her school SMK N 58 using an etching technique. She etched the school logo onto a brass plate by soaking it in an acid solution that removed parts of the metal. After etching, she painted the logo area with yellow paint and cut out the shaped plate. Nisrina then sanded and polished the plate before attaching it to a magnet with glue and pins to create a finished logo product. Tools and Materials

Tools : — Container Materials : — Brass plate


— Cutting pliers — H2O(Water)
- Brush - HCL Liquid
— Grinding tool — H2O2 Liquid
— Sandpaper — pylox
— Polishing tool
Process Note :
The first step is to mix the etching •H2O~>70%
acid, that is H20 (water), HCL, H2O2.
for that there is a content of each (1400ml)
liquid, Pour all into one prepared
container. •HCL~>20%
(400ml)
•H2O2~>10%
(200ml)

Then soak the brass plate into
the etching acid, the container
