The Ticking Clock
➢ 5042 AC(After Cataclysm): The Immortal Empire is without its
leader and tensions between its many lords rises again,
leading to heightened border aggression and land grabs, and
eventually, civil war. Countless provinces declare
independence from the Empire and raise armies, forming
alliances, and marching off to war. At the same time, in the
Divine Alliance, corruption and political sabotage devolves
into racial disputes, where lines are drawn and small
alliances between species are formed, before sprouting into
their own civil war, splitting into factions of primarily
   allied species.
➢ 5043 AC: With civil war on both main continents, the world
is in turmoil, but technology and ideology are both forced
to advance thanks to the needs of the war, leading to new
findings in Magitek and efficiency updates for many pre-
existing technologies. However, as more alliances are formed
and territory taken from defeated factions in the Empire,
Vevo Littome, child of the late Undying Ruler of the
Immortal Empire, is forced to take drastic measures to
   defend her growing alliance.
➢ 5044 AC: Vevo Littome, leader of the United Provinces of
Kynathar summons an infamous necromancer from the Divine
Alliance to aid in the war effort, bringing Morgul Osseous
and their thousands of undead soldiers and auxiliaries into
battle against the enemies of the UPK, and despite
necromancy being legal, this puts many more targets on her
back. The nearby warring nations redouble their
   assassination efforts and conscription percentages
skyrocket, leading to attrition, leading to countless more
   deaths.
➢ 5045 AC: Disappearances are reported across the world and
tales of evil forces become more common, until rumors begin
to tell a name unheard of since before the wars started. The
Right Hand is at play again and monstrous soldiers raze
villages on the southern shores of the Shattered Isle, no
bodies are found in the ruins, and the news spreads fast.
The The Right Hand then makes himself known to the world
when a gigantic draconic beast spawns from the sea, but as
he commands all nations to surrender to his will and the
beast’s dorsal spines light up with energy, a battle
commences atop the creature, and the only thing known is
that The Right Hand was defeated. But at the cost of the
continent splitting when vast energy exploded from outwards
from him, reshaping land and sea and sky, and forcing
  change.
➢ 5047 AC: Two years after the Neo Cataclysm as some called
it, the now truly Shattered Isles remains at war, but things
have somewhat calmed and returned to a normal pace as people
adjust to the new environment, and alliances form into
larger nations, drawing more coherent lines on the map. But
horrible creatures still roam the night after the The Right
Hand’s supposed demise, and the Kalmar Union sets a foothold
on the north, entering the war after remaining in the
sidelines, setting new paces with their advancements in
combat technology. This includes new Magimechs, large
mechanical suits of armor that provide simple soldiers with
the power of much more skilled warriors, and this technology
spreads across much of the world outside the Isles, becoming
  a new reality of warfare.
➢ 5049 AC: Cease fires are signed by various countries,
allowing brief respite for many, and the development of new
infrastructure to replace the many lost in the war, but this
is no peace, only an intermission. And some don't adhere to
it, as the Quat Oligarchy is split into two by the
separatist Quat League, a militaristic group of veterans who
continue the war with both the loyalists and the other
  nations.
➢ 5050 AC: It is now a time for mobilization again, and rumors
say the cease fires will soon end, as militaries across the
Isles prepare for full on combat again. Many fear for what
the war may bring next, but many find work with the army as
well, and some consider themselves lucky to join the various
Armored Cores of each nation, where one expects to be safer
inside a tank or Magimech. This is a time for mercenaries,
soldiers, pilots, leaders, and the brave. This is a time for
     many to make their mark…
The Incoherent Babbler
The world is gigantic, more so than it ever should be, and that’s
because of the influence of the gods, called Deitis, or so
everyone thinks. Really the whole planet is alive, and its 3
moons are planets of their own, but the world doesn't exactly
know that.
Meanwhile, the Divine Alliance, was made up of all civilized
species, united under one rule of peace and democracy in its
senate, where all are represented. Or that was the goal, but as
it happens, with some of the Right Hand’s meddling, corruption
controlled the Alliance and the poor got poorer while the rich
got richer.
Now that the civil war has engulfed the entire world, disputes
between the supposedly united species of the Alliance got worse,
and the differing cultures split into differing groups, all vying
for control. Their grievances are real, but they don't know the
true influence of the Right Hand, which has pushed them and the
rest of the world to conflict.
In another part of the world, extraterrestrial people watch from
a dying island, refugees of ancient cosmic war only known by the
most powerful and special people.
The Magician’s Demise
The laws of magic are fickle in many ways, as one can bend all
kinds of energies into endless combinations if skilled and
intelligent enough to understand them, and better yet has a
magical item to focus the power through. Magic is divided into
types or elements, named:
Earth
Water
Fire
Air
Nature
Flight
Ice
Light
Shadow
Recovery
Illusion
Lightning
Summoning
Divine
Dead
The Soulful Crafter
You start with 5 points which you can make an affinity with or
upgrade one, each point counting for a D2 and going up to D20.
The dice of an affinity is added to a base D20 when it’s needed,
otherwise the affinities are just taken as a basis for what
you’re better at.

Example:
Wulfe Howell
38 year-old Human
History:
He was born without an arm and there was no money for a healer to
regenerate it, since back then it was so much more expensive
thanks to the difficulty of casting such magic, and thus while
growing in the dark and smoggy city, he had a rough childhood,
one where he learned of the lawless nature of the world. It was
something he wanted to change back when he was still young and
naive, when he saved up to buy a fully functioning prosthetic and
joined the constables, thinking that one good cop can make a
difference.
He spent years being unable to stop the corruption around him,
but despite all that, the spark still remained and he tried his
hardest to make it right. It was so until the night he lost it
all, the night the local gangs got fed up and beat his girlfriend
dead as a message. He couldn't stop them when he chased and
neither could the officer beside him, leaving him half dead in an
alley, his prosthetic arm stuck in its gun form and melted into
him…
Not even after being promoted to detective could he find some
form of sense of accomplishment, he only finds joy at the bottom
of a bottle and his lungs are black with cancer, something modern
medicine and magic have kept from doing harm so far…
