*INTRODUCTION*
❖ Airline Reservation System is an application-based services aim to
provide reusable services based on service-oriented architecture
principles and approaches. The aim to increase the system flexibility
and interoperability in the airline industry context.
❖ The Airline Reservation System project is an implementation of a
general Airline Ticketing application like Priceline. Which helps the
customer to search the availability and
prices of various airline tickets, along with the different packages
available with the reservations.
❖ This project also covers various features like online registration of the
users, modifying the details of the application by the management staff
or administrator of the application by adding deleting or modifying the
customer details flights or packages information in
general this application would be designed to perform like any other
airline ticketing application available online.
❖ In today's airline industry users or customers can reserve seats or
book flights from any place in the world as long as they are connected
to the internet. The Innovation of technology has made travelling in the
air easier for customers with airline reservation or booking just a click
away. The fastest means of transportation today is by air. Thousands of
people flock to the airline industry these days so that they can arrive at
their destination within a short period of time. The existingsystem is that
the passenger must fill up the data manually and must submit it to
the reservation counter. It may take a lot of time to process it and to
book the flight. Therefore, there is a waste of time. Since the data is
entered manually, the probability of error or mistakes in high system
can be defined as a set of detailed method or procedure which is used
to carry out a duty or a task. Computerized has to do with the entering of
a process, or store information in a computer information system.
Reservation simply means the act of keeping back., withheld. In terms of
records and data it also means a written record or promise of an
arrangement by which the task or data are secured in advance.
❖ The entire project has been developed keeping in view of the
distributed client server computing technology in mind. The
specification has been normalized up 2NF to eliminate all the anomalies
that may arise due to the database transaction that are executed by the
general users and the organizational administration. The user interfaces
are browser specific to give distributed accessibility for the overall
system. The internal database has been selected as database
PostgreSQL Access.
*Motivation*
❖ People in rural areas do not travel by air because they do not know about air
services and they are not ready to travel by air because it is expensive. So we are
making a simple aviation application system so that people in rural areas can
know about aviation and they can benefit from it.
❖ While making this system, we are motivated by apps like Priceline, Sky
scanner etc.
❖ This system is fully computerized
❖ It is user friendly.
*Problem Statement*
❖ Reliable internet access is required to check reservation.
❖ User should be able to register by specifying username and password.
❖ Username should be unique.
❖ Has option to cancel ticket only if within specific time limit.
*SCOPE *
❖This system can be used to check the availability of the flight tickets for the
specified flight, destination and date of journey.
❖If the tickets are available to the user's needs and specification, then the software
provide a facility to book the tickets.
❖If the passengers want to cancel the tickets, they can use the cancellation module of
the Airline Reservation System.
*LIMITATION*
❖Password and valid visa are required for ticket booking.
❖Passenger cannot transfer his/her reservation from one flight to another flight.
❖For airline reservation we need to required internet access.
*OBJECTIVE/GOALS*
❖ The objective of the project is to manage the details of Airline Tickets,
❖ Payment gateway integration facilitates secure online payment, such as credit
card transaction. It should be able to handle different payment method's
currencies and tax calculations.
❖ Booking confirmation and ticketing generates booking confirmation e-mails
and e-tickets that passenger use for check-in.
❖ It allows an airline to sell their inventory (seats).
❖ Transfer of information from various branches would become easier and
faster.
❖ To speed up the operation.
❖ It contains information on schedules and fares and contains a database of
reservation and of tickets issued.
❖ The system can integrate with an airlines loyalty program, allowing customer
to earn
❖ an redeem rewards points for their booking. The system can allow customers
to customize their in-flight experience by pre- ordering meals, drinks and
entertainment option before their flight.
*LITURATURE SURVY*
❖ In the area of global competition, organizations in all over the world are
competing through the use of the most comprehensive and advanced
technological feature. The most common example of innovation is in the area of
information technology and communication. Various industries are using the
technologies and the advancements of software and Internet to maintain and
monitor their business transactions.
❖ The Airline Reservation System project is an implementation of a general
Airline Ticketing application, which helps the customers to search the
availability and prices of various airline tickets, along with the different
packages available with the reservations.
❖This project also covers various features like online registration of the users,
modifying the details of the application by the management staff or
administrator of the application, by adding, deleting or modifying the customer
details, flights or packages information. In general, this we application would be
designed to perform like any other airline ticketing application available online.
*SYSTEM ANALYSIS*
*EXISTING SYSTEM*
❖In the existing system if any person wants to travel somewhere by fli
ght, he should take basic steps to getticket like he should go to airport t
o book the flight ticket, he should speak with Airline help centreregardi
ng the availability of flights. It is time consuming process.
❖The effectiveness of the system depends on the way in which the data
is organized. In the existing system, much of the data is entered manuall
y and it can be very time consuming.
❖Check the Ticket Quantity regularly whether any ticket is not in, if so t
hen Ticket Issue process iscancelled. In the same way Ticket cancellati
on is followed. If fare is increased or decreased then changesinto Fare B
ook. If New Flight is introduced then entry on relevant book, that proces
s applies to Flight-Schedule, Airbus, and Branch system.
*SCOPE OF EXISTING SYSTEM*
❖It may help collecting perfect management in details. In a very short ti
me, the collection will be obvious, simple and sensible. It will help a pers
on to know the management of passed year perfectly. It also helpsin cur
rent all works relative to Airline Reservation System.
❖It will be designed in such a manner that all the new users can use all
options in it very easily. It is madein a quick and easy referential manne
r
*STAKEHOLDERS*
❖Stakeholders of Airline Reservation System are:
❖Passengers
❖Airline employees
❖Administrator
*REQUIREMENT ANALYSIS*
As we have decided to develop a new system now it is time to determin
e the new requirements for thenew system. As the users is the most im
portant part of any system it is required to find the usersrequirements t
o develop a user-
friendly system rather than having to develop a developer friendly syste
m.
*FUCTIONAL REQUIREMENT*
A functional requirement defines a function of a system or its compone
nt, where a function is described asa specification of behaviour betwee
n inputs and outputs.
1.User Registration: This use case describes the scenario where the use
r registers with the application byproviding all the necessary details, in
order to make reservations or bookings for flights, motels, specialpacka
ges
2. User Login: This use case describes the scenario where the user l
ogs into the application, with the username and password he has provid
ed while registering.
3.Booking Instructions: This use case describes the scenario where the
user views the instructions forbooking flights, packages, or models.
4.Book Flights: This use case describes the scenario where the user bo
oks airline tickets.
5.Login/Logout: This use case describes the scenario where the admini
strator of the
application, logs into the system and logs out after the work is done.
6.Cancellation of Reservations: This use case describes the scenario w
here the administrator handles thecancellation of reservations by the cu
stomers.
7.Payment: It asks the agents to enter the various credit card details of t
he person making reservation i.e.
Credit card type
Credit card number
The name on card etc.
* PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENT*
❖User satisfaction
❖Response Time
❖Error Handling
❖User Friendliness
*SECURITY REQUIREMENT*
❖Ensure that your application system is properly secured.
❖Have proper activity and security logging in your online reservation sy
stem.
