Playing The Minion
Devoted, resourceful, overworked, and underappreciated. The
Minion never fit in. A creature taunted, tormented, and pitied
for circumstances beyond their control. But then Master came
along and gave you a purpose, and a dream. You’ll do the
work nobody else wants to do, and little by little, they’ll grow
to appreciate you. And maybe one day they’ll even make eye
contact with you.
One stat choice for the Minion lets you steer them towards
someone turned strange and desensitized by their time
working for Master (Cold 1 Dark 2). The other instead paints
the picture of someone so used to stress they have a hard time
functioning without it (Volatile 2 Dark 1).
While the Minion is not immune to the personal leverage
of Strings, Work is Work gives others another avenue of
manipulating you by taking advantage of your reputation and
feelings of self-worth, i.e. Conditions. While Conditions are
normally bad, the Minion makes gaining and losing Conditions
standard to how they interact with others. Dark Fantasy and
Hard Life play into the risk/reward aspect of Conditions.
Much of the Minion revolves around your Master. Decide
how supernatural you want them to be: do you want to serve
a vampire lord, or perhaps be the assistant to an eccentric
scientist, or maybe you just work for a crappy, but normal
human boss. Regardless, make sure to discuss their nature with
the MC, as your Master should act as a consistent source of
jobs and Conditions.

be so close to them. Even someone as poor and ugly as you can make it if
you just work hard enough.
