DWIGRAHA YOGA (RAHU SPECIFIC)

Dwigraha Yoga. This is one of the most important Yogas of Vedic
Astrology, which exists when there are planets placed in the 6th, the 8th
and the 12th houses from Ascendant( Lagna). This yoga can be classified
three - Paap Adhi Yoga, Subha Adhi Yoga or Mixed Adhi Yoga, based on if
malefic or benefic or mixed planets are placed in 6th, 8th and 12th houses.
When this Yoga occurs from Rashi or Chandra Lagna, is know as Chandra
Adhi Yoga.
However this paper attempts at studying presence of any one planet with
Rahu, anywhere in the horoscope.
RAHU KETU
Just to recapitulate, Rahu and Ketu are no planets; but, because of their
effect on human beings, have been treated like any other planets- thus
making a total of nine planets. Actually they are the imaginary points of
intersection of moon’s orbit with that of the ecliptic. Rahu Ketu cause
eclipse whenever they happen to be on the same plane and at same
degree.
Rahu takes 18 yrs, 7 months and two days to traverse through all signs,
and nearly one and a half year per sign. Rahu is Poornaparmatmansh like
Sun, Moon and Mars.
Astrologically, Lunar eclipse takes place on Purnima, when the difference
between Rahu and Moon is 7 degrees. Between 7 to 9 degrees the
probability of eclipse exists, Moon Rahu to be on the same plane and the
declination be not more than 1.5 degrees. Sun and Moon are opposite
each other and the earth is between, and earth shadow obstructing fully or
a part of moon. Eclipse in 2nd to 7th House are not visible, also not
mentioned in Punchang. But in Lagna and other houses indicate the results
clearly.
Solar eclipse however takes place when Moon is between Sun and earth,
on Amawasya. Moon obstructs a portion of or fully the sun. For Solar
eclipse we consider Sun, Moon and Rahu, while Lunar eclipse only Moon
and Rahu are considered.
EFFECTS OF ECLIPSE.
Solar/Lunar eclipse is beneficial in 3rd, 6th & 10th houses, Mediocre in 2nd, 7th
& 9th houses and is malefic in all other houses. However its Yuti with
benefic or malefic planets influences its results since Rahu gives results of
the planet it conjucts or its dispositor.
Significations(Karakatva) of Rahu.
Logic, Local autonomous organizations like municipalities, Vidhan sabhas
(Assemblies), Railways, Agents, Rubber, Bituminous, Electric Goods,
Intoxicants, ice, circus, Cinema, Gambling, Aggressiveness, harsh speech,
Fallacious Arguements, Evil effects, Rumours. Wickedness, Faith in old
samskaras, Extortions, Renunciation, Spiritualism. Travelling,
Pilgrimage.Paternal grand father, Widow, Out castes,
foreigners,Pain/swelling in the body,Represents and disturbs all the Tri
Dhatus–Pitta, Vaat, and Cough.Chronic ailments.
Friendship/Nature
Mars is Rahu’s enemy, Saturn is neutral and others are deemed friends.
Rahu is Tamsik in male signs if in 1,3,5,7,9,11th houses. But in these
houses if it is in Female sign,and also at other houses it will be Satwik in
nature.
In Rahu’s mouth or tail. If Rahu’s longitude is more than a planet in any
sign, that planet would be deemed to be entering Rahu’s mouth. Moon
entering Rahu’s mouth is auspicious if both are with in 5 degrees and first
half of sign. If Moon’s longitude is more than Rahu, it will be deemed to be
behind and is mediocre. However if moon’s longitude is more and is
nearing the end of sign, it is considered at the tail, and is inauspicious.
Aspect. Rahu aspect only 7th house. Various authors have different views,
like 5,7& 9. Ketu is not considered independently since it gives opposite
results. Hence Ketu be delineated alongside Rahu.
No single point of agreement Exaltation/Debilitation. But considered
Exalted in gemini, debilitated in saggitarius. Own sign – virgo; mooltrikon-
aquarius.
Rahu has Purush Prakruti, it behaves mixed like Jup And Venus, with
Shubh Planets it adds To Shubh Phala while with Ashubh Planets- Their
Ashubh Phala Reduced.
Ketu acts differently, with Ashubh Intense Ashubh Phala, But with Shubh
Planets it obstructs Results, Unless Good Yogas In Kendra/Trikon.
Rahu is considered auspicious in Taurus, Cancer, Leo, Scorpio,
Capricorn, & Pisces. But inauspicious- Aries, Gemini, Virgo, Libra,
Sagittarius & Aquarius signs.
Yuti. Rahu and Ketu give predominantly the effects as due to their
conjunction with a house lord or as due to the house they occupy (BPHS
34:16). We must also remember the dictum –Shanivat Rahu, Kujavat Ketu.
Yuti can be seen from different angles: With its depositor sign/house lord;
Nakshatra lord or with a particular planet. The results will however depend
upon the house occupied.
Yuti with Lagnesh. 1,5,9,11 HOUSES- Loss of progeny, obstruction in
edn, Abnormal behaviour, Sharp, Good memory. Shubh phala if Sun,
Moon, Mars or Jup be lagnesh. Ashubh Phala if Sat, Merc or Ven be
lagnesh.
Yuti with Dhanesh. Adoption, Sickness of wife, Family disorganised, Loss
of ancestral property/business, death of elders, Infamity, Mental distress,
Debts. Shubh Yuti, shubh phala; Ashubh Ashubh Phala
Yuti with Tritiyesh. Progress with efforts, Trouble for siblings. Separation
from siblings. Bhagyodaya at Tritiyesh age.
Yuti with Chaturthesh. Trouble for parents, Loss of one brother, Always
failure, Cheated in partnership.
Yuti with Panchmesh. obstruction in edn, intelligent, but misuse, instable.
Trouble to self. Lack of strisukha; two marriages, wife beautiful but
quarrelsome. Loss of son.
Yuti with Shashtesh. Involved with legal litigations, Lifelong troubles,
diseases, Lack of worldly satisfation.
Yuti with Saptmesh. Trouble from wife, Lack of domestic peace,Gains
from women, Illegitimate relations with women. Obstructions, Addictions,
Litigations, Much travelling.
Yuti with Ashtmesh. Chronic diseases, sudden death. If Yuti be in 2nd, 4th
or 8th from Jup, lack of marital happiness, loss of children/elder brother.
Gets adopted, Sudden income. Fame in life.
Yuti with Bhagyesh. Non religious, lacks faith in God. Works for social
welfare. Much travelling, Less edn/ not using the edn for living. Second
marriage.
Yuti with Dashmesh. Delayed/ or no progeny. Slow progress, famous,
Stability in business, Hardworking but fatalist. Two marriages.
Yuti with Labhesh. Continued gains, Position in power, Spoiled relations
with father/son. Works against laid out line. Misunderstanding amongst
people.
Yuti with Vayayesh. Sudden expenditure, loss of earnest money. Good
relations with wife. Loss from illegitimate relations. Foreign country for
job. Demise of parents/siblings/sons.
Rahu’s yuti with other planets. We observe transitting Moon making yuti
with Rahu every month, while Sun’s yuti once a year. The Effects are
magnified at the time of Eclipse, but otherwise the results are normal.
Yuti Houses Results
Rahu 1,3,5,10,12 Good results, position, wealth, intelligent,
Sun disciplined,and innovator. Famous for
political or social work. Fights for justice.
Power hungry.
2,4,6,7,8,9,11 Normal results.
2,4,7 Loses ancestral wealth, large family,
dvibharya, instability in profession.
Rahu Shubh rashi, shubh Thinker, balanced faces problems
Moon graha yoga patiently, popular, lacks success in
independent profession, does not like
serving, Always contesting political, social
or spiritually.
1,3,9 Ashubh. Poverty, Debts, failure. Sudden
death.
Rahu 1,3,6,10 In shubh rashi, Courageous, dedicated,
Mars careless, Accomplished and worldly wise.
May be adopted, more than one marriage.
In ashubh rashi, adulterous, loses wealth,
litigations,
2 Spendthrift. May acquire immovable
property, Good property dealer
4 Dosha in house. Losses, bad for wife and
children.
5 Lacks jeev sukha, sickly wife.
7 Delayed marriage, spoiled first marriage,
lacks stability in profession
8 Madhyayu, health affected, wastes wealth
9 Lacks younger siblings.
12 Lacks shaiyya sukha, disease related to
blood.
Rahu 1,3,5,9,10,11 Intelligent, farsighted, understands
Mercury intricacies. Struggles to top in education.
If in assn with ashubha, break in edn.
Lacks focus, egoist. Short tempered.
Other houses Controlled temper, lacks edn, instability in
profession, more than one marriage. If in
ashubh assn, mental disturbance/problem,
Rahu 1,5,9,10 Shubh assn, gets respect and authority. If
Jupiter popular can be elected parliamentarian.
Very good results
2,4,7,11 Medium results; more wealth less edn.
3,6,8,12 More edn, less wealth
Sagittarius/Pisces Arisht yoga, even in Trikona. Called Guru
chandal yoga.
Rahu Shubha assn Sudden marriage, girl from a poor family/or
Venus without relatives. Stri-sukha.
3,6,7,8,12 Ashubh. Unsatisfied with one woman,
difficulties in profession. Economic
problems after marriage.
Rahu Shubha assn Intelligent, diligent, admirable behavior,
Saturn earn from business/speculation. Famous
even if less educated. Benevolent,
provides employment to many.Banker.
Medium assn Mediocre professionally,engg or money
lender.
Ashubha assn Losses, Abusive speaker, debts,
dependent, adulterous, bhadit home.
Factors to be considred .
Which signs are good/bad for rahu.Exaltation/debilitation of rahu. Lords of
cancer, scorpio, capricorn, aquarius and pisces-
– Not durvasa dreshkon.
– Not darun/teekshan nakshatra.
– Not mrityu bhaga
– Not 22 dreshkon
Check rahu for- Sign, traits,Vargottam, pushkar, pancham navamsh.
– Durvasa dreshkon, Dwadansh, Trimshansh,
HOROSCOPES BEING DISCUSSED.

Rahu. Posited in 7th house, own sign Virgo, Uttra Phalguni Nakshatra. 6th
from Moon. Virgo Lord, Mercury R posited in 5 th house with exalted Jupiter.
Afflicted by Gulik. Rahu in 2nd Navamsha of Saturn ( Aquarius); in the 6th
from Navamsha Lagna. Rahu posited with Mars and Venus(in Hasta
nakshatra of Moon and Chitra of Mars). Uddatyudh Dreshkon, Yam Hala
Dwadamsha, Malefic effect on 7th House indicate complications in
marriage.
Lagna Lord. Jup, posited in 5th, exalted, with Gulik and 7th Lord (Mercury R).
2nd Navamsha of Sun (Leo) with Moon, Venus and Ketu in the 12 th from
Navamsha Lagna. Jup also Dara Karak. In Yam Hala Dwadamsha, The
combination of Lagna Lord, Dara Karak, and 7th Lord with Gulik does
indicate a happy married life.
Moon. In 2nd House, fiery sign(Aries), Kemdrum Bhang being in Kandra
with Jupiter. In Bharani (Kroor Nkshatra), Raudra, Uddayatyudh Dreshkon,
Yama, Mohan Dwadamsha. Aff;octed by 8th aspect of Mars. 6/8 relation
with Venus.
7th Lord. Mercury Retro posited with exalted Jupiter and Gulik in 5 th . in
Darun Nakshatra, Debilitated in Navamsha, 7th from Navamsha lord.
Mercury in Sarp Nigad, Vyal Dreshkon, Sarpa Kokil Dwadamsha and Agni
Trimshamsha of Mars.
Kalatra Karak (Venus) posited in 7th, afflicted by Mars and Rahu, in Chitra
Nakshatra of Mars. Mars Venus combination with Rahu in the 7 th indicated
heightened sexual desire
Puta Karak Saturn. Combust and posited with Gnati Karak in 6 th from
Lagna. In Kroor Nakshatra. With Sun again in Kroor Nakhsatra. In Kaal
Pakshi and Uddatyudh Dreshkon, Ganesh Vivhal Dwadamsha. All this
does not indicate putra sukh.
Overall the combination of various planets related to Marital life and Rahu’s
role indicate a dissatisfied marriage. In real case also it is true.
