Womens Dive Day
Womens Dive Day
Summary
Happy PADI Women's Dive Day! For the occasion, I decided to put out a series of ten short
one-shots of our favorite ladies scuba diving. Each chapter will focus on at least one pair
from a different series. Tags will be updated as I add more stories and characters.
Notes
I initially wanted to have all ten stories up by today, but I only ended up finishing one so far.
First up, we go to the Paldea region to visit our Champions Juliana and Nemona (and also
Rika and Geeta) as they go cage diving to observe Sharpedos. Enjoy!
Juliana/Nemona, Rika/Geeta
Chapter Notes
See the end of the chapter for notes
“Mmmbbll…,” Juliana bubbled into her regulator, looking out at the vast blue ocean all
around her.
She had been looking forward to this all week. Geeta and Rika had agreed to take her and
Nemona cage diving for a special Women’s Dive Day treat, and now here they all were,
inside a dive cage twenty feet below the surface, waiting for any Sharpedos to show up. The
four of them were all wearing matching black wetsuits, but their masks, fins, air tanks and
regulators were all different colors to help them stand out more. Juliana’s gear was a light
pink, Nemona’s was a bright orange, Geeta’s was a deep purple, and Rika’s was a pale blue.
Nemona gave Juliana a wink and squeezed her hand, causing Juliana’s face to flush red.
They’d been dating for a couple of months, but she still blushed at every cute thing Nemona
did. Juliana loved how Nemona’s ponytail flowed behind her head in the current, it just made
her look even cooler and cuter.
Suddenly, Rika grabbed Juliana’s shoulder and pointed out into the distance. About fifty feet
from the cage, a Sharpedo drifted into view, slowly but steadily advancing towards the four
divers.
Even inside the cage, Juliana was rather nervous. She had heard stories of Sharpedos tearing
massive holes in ships and submarines with their sharp teeth, and the results weren’t pretty.
But a reassuring look from her girlfriend was enough to put her mind at ease.
The Sharpedo kept swimming towards the cage, until it was only a few feet away. Juliana and
Nemona bravely faced the shark, separated from it only by some thick metal bars. Rika
clutched her bangstick attached to the leg of her wetsuit, just in case the creature got
aggressive.
The Sharpedo looked at the cage for a bit, then suddenly darted sideways to catch a hapless
Magikarp that had unfortunately gotten a bit too close. Juliana and Nemona eagerly watched
the spectacle of the shark devouring its prey. Sure, they had seen similar stuff in nature
documentaries, but seeing it in person was so much cooler.
Geeta pulled out her underwater camera and held it outwards, making sure all four divers and
the Sharpedo were all in the frame. Juliana and Nemona each held one of the other’s hands,
while holding up their free hands in a peace sign. Geeta wrapped her free arm around Rika’s
waist, and Rika slung her arm around her wife’s shoulder, winking at the camera.
“Chhllbbbsh!” the four divers cheerfully burbled as Geeta snapped the picture.
Juliana loved the contrast between their cheery expressions and the messiness of the
Sharpedo violently consuming the poor Magikarp. It made for one hell of a vacation photo,
that’s for sure.
Nemona wrapped her right arm around Juliana’s torso and held her close as they watched the
Sharpedo swim off into the distance. Juliana wrapped her arms around her girlfriend’s
shoulders and rested her head on her chest. Geeta and Rika couldn’t resist getting photos of
the wholesome sight in front of them.
“We should do this every year,” Juliana thought as she watched the streams of bubbles from
her and Nemona’s regulators float up to the surface.
Next up, we're heading to the land of Fodlan with Catherine, Shamir, and Leonie!
Leonie Pinelli/Catherine/Shamir Nevrand
Chapter Summary
A lost war ship has been discovered at the bottom of the ocean, and Leonie, Catherine,
and Shamir go on an expedition to explore it.
Chapter Notes
Here's some behind-the-scenes trivia for you: this chapter was originally going to be
about Dorothea and Monica helping Edelgard get over her fear of the ocean, but I saw
some really cute fan art of Leonie scuba diving on DeviantArt, so I decided to write
about her instead. I do want to write that Edelgard story in the future though.
Hundreds of years ago, a Fodlanese military vessel made its final voyage, though none of the
crew knew it at the time. During the Invasion of Dagda, this ship, known as the Liberator,
was sent to supply the Imperial forces with more troops and supplies, but it was caught in a
battle with the Dagdan navy. It sank to the bottom of the ocean, and a hundred soldiers and
valuable weapons went down with it, where it would lie undisturbed for centuries.
Leonie was really excited. It’s one thing to go on a scuba diving expedition with Catherine
and Shamir, but it was another thing entirely to explore a lost sunken ship from one of the
great wars. She had begged and pleaded with her partners to investigate the ship, and after
getting permission from Rhea, they said yes.
So here she was, floating in front of the wreckage of a once-great vessel, now reduced to a
scenic display at the bottom of the sea. She, Catherine, and Shamir were all in their color-
coded bikinis and scuba gear. Leonie’s were orange, Catherine’s were silver, and Shamir’s
were purple.
“Wohbbbll…,” Leonie bubbled into her regulator, in awe of the sight in front of her, “Thllbsh
‘sshh shhuh c’hhll!”
Catherine let out a muffled chuckle as she playfully tousled Leonie’s red hair. She thought
Leonie was so cute when she was fangirling over cool things.
Shamir swam over to the ship’s entrance, shining her flashlight down the dark corridor. She
wasn’t expecting anything to suddenly lunge out of the darkness, but she was a firm believer
that you could never be too careful. Once she decided that the coast was clear, she motioned
for her partners to follow her inside. Leonie and Catherine didn’t mind trailing behind, since
they got a nice view of Shamir’s shapely backside.
As they swam through the dilapidated passages and corridors, Shamir was on the lookout for
anything dangerous. The passages they were going through were pretty cramped, so if a shark
or a barracuda showed up, they didn’t have much room to turn around and get out.
“Hmmbbb…,” Shamir hummed as she shone her flashlight all around the caverns and
crevices of the sunken vessel.
Meanwhile, Leonie and Catherine were looking for any ancient weapons or treasure. If this
ship was undiscovered for hundreds of years, Leonie figured that any weapons, gold, or any
other metal objects would still be here, ready for her to find. Sure, they’d be all rusted and
probably unusable in an actual battle, but she thought it would still be really cool to find one.
“H’yyh, L’yulllnllh!” Catherine called from one of the rooms splitting off from the main hall,
“L’lhhk uhht th’shh!”
Leonie swam over to where her partner was, and what she saw nearly made her eyes pop out
of her mask. Catherine had pried open a chest with her dive knife, and it was full of old
swords, each one sporting a different pattern on the blade, and with a gem in the center of the
handle. Best of all, because they were inside a chest for all this time, they were still in pretty
good shape.
“Wuhbbll…,” Catherine burbled into her regulator, picking up one of the swords and
swinging it around experimentally. It was no Thunderbrand, but it was still a very nice
weapon.
Leonie picked up another sword and playfully swung it at Catherine. The blonde let out a
muffled cackle as she planted her fins on a wall and launched herself at the redhead, clanging
their weapons together.
Meanwhile, Shamir had noticed her partners were no longer following her, so she swam back
to find them. She wasn’t surprised to see them fooling around, Leonie and Catherine were
always more focused on having fun than anything else, but she was surprised by what they
had found.
“Huhhll’y shllbb…,” Shamir murmured, examining the chest. These swords could be worth a
fortune, she thought.
“H’yyh, Shhmrbbl!” Leonie cheerfully bubbled, waving her sword at her purple-haired
partner.
Shamir yanked Leonie and Catherine’s swords away from them and put them back in the
chest. The redhead and the blonde pouted for a second, but they knew they shouldn’t have
been playing around with such valuable items.
Shamir and Catherine each grabbed one end of the chest, and they lifted it up together.
Shamir pointed at the ship opening, signaling it was time to go, and Catherine and Leonie
both gave her the OK sign. They would’ve loved to stay longer, but they only had so much
air in their air tanks.
As Leonie started to follow her partners out, she heard a rumbling noise coming from deep
within the passage behind them. She peered over her shoulder and saw a huge shark heading
right for them, its jaws agape.
“EEEMMP!” Leonie let out a muffled shriek as she swam as fast as she could towards the
entrance.
Catherine and Shamir quickly opened the chest and each grabbed a sword. Once Leonie was
safely past them, they charged forward, slashing at the shark’s underbelly. The shark twisted
and writhed in pain, before turning around and swimming back into the depths of the ship.
Leonie sat down next to a bed of rocks to rest, panting heavily into her regulator. Catherine
and Shamir swam over next to her, resting their hands on the redhead’s shoulders. Leonie
wrapped an arm each around her partners’ torsos, pulling them into a group hug. It was a
little awkward with their scuba gear, but the three of them were more than comfortable in
each others’ arms. Catherine and Shamir both briefly removed their regulators to kiss Leonie
on both cheeks, and Leonie’s cheeks flushed a deeper red than her hair.
After a few minutes, the three partners lifted up the chest again and began to swim up to the
surface. Leonie was excited to show off their findings, but she knew the memories of this
experience were the real treasure she found today. And she had this once-glorious sunken
vessel to thank for all of it.
I wanted to have this up a while ago, but I had some stuff come up, so I apologize for
the wait. I promise the next chapter won't take nearly as long to get up.
Next up is a pit stop at the Mushroom Kingdom with our three favorite princesses,
Peach, Daisy and Rosalina!
Peach/Daisy/Rosalina
Chapter Summary
Princess Peach, Daisy, and Rosalina are exploring a hidden underwater cavern in Jolly
Roger Bay, when something unexpected puts their expedition in jeopardy.
Chapter Notes
See the end of the chapter for notes
Jolly Roger Bay was Princess Peach’s favorite spot to go scuba diving in. Sure, places like
Oho Ocean and Lake Lamode were also great diving locations, but Jolly Roger Bay had an
mysterious atmosphere that Peach absolutely loved. There were so many caves, nooks and
crannies to explore, that she was still discovering new secrets after half a dozen dives. Best of
all, she had her two amazing girlfriends with her, so they could share in the fun together.
Princess Daisy and Rosalina were always eager to join Peach on her scuba dives. They were
just as enthusiastic about exploring underwater locales as she was, and it definitely helped
that they looked gorgeous in their gear. The three princesses all wore skin-tight wetsuits, with
Peach’s signature pink, Daisy’s yellow, and Rosalina’s cyan colors making them easy to spot
even from a distance. Their scuba gear, each set consisting of a pair of fins, a weight belt, a
face mask, and an oxygen tank with a single-hose regulator attached, was a darker shade of
pink for Peach, orange for Daisy, and sky blue for Rosalina.
“Pshhbbb…,” Peach bubbled into her regulator, shining her flashlight into the dark tunnel
ahead. The cavern was pretty narrow, so the three princesses had to swim in single file, with
Peach taking the lead, followed by Daisy, and Rosalina bringing up the rear. Peach wasn’t
terribly concerned about being surprised by any sea creatures suddenly popping up in front of
her, Unagi the eel had left his own hole in the seawall a while ago, and sharks rarely ever
went inside the dark tunnels.
After about fifty feet, the tunnel opened up into a larger cavern, big enough for the three
princesses to swim side-by-side. Rosalina swam up to Peach’s right and gave her hand a
squeeze. Peach gave her girlfriend a flirtatious wink, and Rosalina let out a muffled chuckle.
Daisy swam above, waving cheerfully to them as she sped ahead into the depths. Rosalina
sighed into her regulator and hurried after the brunette.
Peach decided to hang back for a bit and take in the scenery. The cavern was pretty dark, lit
mostly by some luminescent rocks in the walls. A few Cheep Cheeps darted along the
seafloor, mostly minding their own business. One curious fish swam up right in front of
Peach and tried biting one of her fins. It couldn’t really do anything since it didn’t have teeth,
but she found the effort adorable regardless.
“This is the life,” Peach thought as she crossed her legs and sat down on the seafloor, taking
the time to adjust the hairband tying her yellow ponytail. If her tank didn’t have limited air,
she could’ve stayed down here forever.
All of a sudden, there was a loud rumbling noise coming from above her. Peach looked up
and saw rocks raining down from the cavern ceiling, big ones that could probably knock her
out or puncture a hole in her tank. She started swimming as fast as she could, hoping to catch
up to her girlfriends.
Suddenly, a huge piece of the ceiling collapsed, catching Peach completely off-guard as a
very large rock slammed into her legs, pinning her to the seafloor.
“HMMMF!” Peach grunted as she tried to pull her legs out from under the rock, but to no
avail. She took a look at her air gauge, and was disheartened to find that she had already used
up over half her air, which was not something she wanted in a situation like this.
She shone her flashlight ahead, repeatedly turning it off and on in a desperate attempt to
signal her girlfriends that something was wrong. Thankfully, Daisy and Rosalina noticed and
quickly swam over to help. Rosalina checked Peach’s air tank to make sure it wasn’t
damaged, and fortunately, she didn’t find any dents or punctures. Daisy grabbed ahold of the
rock and tried to pull it off of Peach’s legs.
“MMMGGGH! RRGGH BBMMF NMMFF!” Daisy groaned loudly into her regulator as she
tugged at the boulder with all her might. Rosalina knelt beside Peach and pushed the boulder
as hard as she could, but their combined efforts weren’t enough, and the rock stayed put.
Peach let out a muffled sigh and laid down on the sandy seafloor, suddenly very tired. Daisy
and Rosalina settled down on either side of her, wrapping their arms around her in a
comforting group hug. Peach hugged them back, grateful that even if she was going to
drown, she’d at least have her girlfriends beside her.
Suddenly, a loud roar echoed from the other end of the cavern. The three princesses looked
up and saw Unagi heading right for them! Daisy and Rosalina ordinarily would’ve bolted at
the sight of the massive eel, but they couldn’t abandon their girlfriend while she was trapped.
If they were going to be eaten, they would die together. Peach, Daisy and Rosalina shut their
eyes as they hugged each other as tight as they could, waiting for the end.
There was a loud crashing noise and a pained shriek from Unagi, and suddenly the weight on
Peach’s legs was gone. She opened her eyes and saw the remains of the huge rock all over the
seafloor, and Unagi speeding away in the other direction. The eel must’ve hit his huge head
on the boulder by accident, shattering it in the process.
Peach got up off the seafloor and moved her legs about to make sure they weren’t broken,
which thankfully they weren’t. Daisy fist-pumped enthusiastically and Rosalina let out a sigh
of relief, before the two gave Peach another tight hug. Peach melted into the embrace,
euphoric that she was alive and free, and that she had the two best girlfriends in the whole
universe.
Peach looked at her air gauge again and saw that the needle was getting close to the red, so
that was their cue to leave. Fortunately, the cavern ceiling collapse didn’t block their way out,
so the three princesses just swam out the way they came. Daisy and Rosalina each had a firm
grip on Peach’s hands the whole way out, and she was A-OK with that. If she had to get
trapped under a boulder in an underwater cavern, there was no one else she would rather have
by her side.
Oh my goodness, this took so much longer than expected. I am so sorry for the wait! I
promise you (for realzies) that the next chapter won't take anywhere near as long to
write.
Next up, we're blasting off to a galaxy far, far away to meet with our favorite Jedi space
lesbians, Ahsoka and Barriss!
Ahsoka/Barriss, Sabine/Shin
Chapter Summary
Ahsoka Tano, Barriss Offee, Sabine Wren, and Shin Hati are all exploring the vast
underwater tunnels of Naboo, but they soon get trapped by one of the most dangerous
creatures of the deep: the Colo Claw Fish!
AU where Ahsoka, Barriss, Sabine, and Shin are all around the same age and also
lesbians and no one turns to the Dark Side.
Chapter Notes
Oh my god that took so much longer than I wanted it to. Originally this story was just
going to be a Barrissoka story, but then I decided to add Shin and Sabine after writing
that Wolfwren story, and I got my usual writer's block along the way. But it's done now,
and I hope you enjoy it!
Ahsoka, Barriss, Sabine, and Shin wear modern-day scuba gear because I say so.
“Grrmph!” Ahsoka grunted in frustration as she narrowly escaped the snapping jaws of the
sea monster.
She was really frustrated that this was how her day was going. She had been really looking
forward to taking her girlfriend Barriss, her best friend Sabine, and Sabine’s girlfriend Shin
scuba diving for a while now. They had all wanted to explore the underwater tunnels and
caves in Naboo, and today was finally the day they all had the free time to do so. They had all
brought matching bluish-black wetsuits, with matching yellow fins, oxygen tanks, masks, and
regulators.
Their dive had been going pretty well at first, they observed a few schools of small fish, took
a few pictures at some interesting rock formations, and even found a few shiny crystals deep
in one of the caverns. They were aware of the huge ocean predators that lived in the area, but
Ahsoka was certain that the four of them were much too small for the predators to pay them
any attention.
“Mmph!” Barriss squeaked into her regulator as she evaded a swipe from one of the Colo’s
huge mandibles. On any other occasion, Barriss would’ve loved to study the Colo’s feeding
habits, but not when she was its target.
Sabine positioned her fins against the tunnel wall and pushed off, blasting herself towards the
Colo’s enormous head and stabbing it right in the eye. The Colo let out a horrifying shriek
and swiped Sabine with one of its mandibles. The force of the swipe sent Sabine flying into
the wall, knocking her regulator out of her mouth.
“Shhbnnn!” Shin let out a muffled cry. She immediately swam over to defend her girlfriend,
slashing her blade at the Colo’s lower jaw. With the beast distracted, Ahsoka and Barriss
swam up onto its back and stabbed both its eyes at once. The Colo roared in pain and
thrashed around, knocking the Togruta and the Mirialan off its back.
By now, Sabine had regained her bearings and was back in action. She and Shin gripped each
other’s hands tightly as they each sliced off the tips of the Colo’s mandibles. The Colo
recoiled, unhinging its mouth as wide as it could possibly go, giving Ahsoka and Barriss
enough space to swim right up to it and thrust their sabers into its jaws. With the Colo fully
disoriented, the four girls all floated together in front of it and used a simultaneous Force
Push to make it rocket out of the tunnel and into the distance.
After making sure the monster was gone, they all floated down to the bottom of the tunnel,
recovering from the intense encounter. Sabine rested her head against Shin’s shoulder, and
Shin gently stroked her girlfriend’s purple hair. Ahsoka and Barriss wrapped their arms
around each other in a tight embrace, which was slightly awkward with their scuba gear, but
they didn’t care.
“Mmmbbb…,” Ahsoka sighed warmly into her regulator, her hands resting on Barriss’s air
tank as the Mirialan buried her face into her chest. They may not have had the relaxing fun
dive they were expecting, but at least they survived an encounter with one of Naboo’s
deadliest sea creatures. As long as the four of them stayed together, Ahsoka knew they could
take on anything.
Once again, I apologize for the very long wait! I promise that the next chapter will be up
before the end of 2023, you can count on that!
Next up, we're returning to the world of bending with everyone's favorite Avatar GFs:
Azula, Katara, Mai and Ty Lee!
Azula/Katara/Mai/Ty Lee
Chapter Summary
Azula, Katara, Mai and Ty Lee brave the cold January ocean in search of migrating
whales.
Chapter Notes
This is set in my Avatar GFs universe, a modern AU, so that's why the Avatar girls are
wearing modern-day scuba gear and using modern equipment.
Most people would not want to go scuba diving in January. The cold temperatures and dreary
atmosphere could be solved by simply going somewhere warmer and nicer, but most people
would consider scuba diving a summer activity.
Admittedly, when Ty Lee suggested that the four of them go for a January dive, her three
girlfriends were skeptical. They didn’t have enough spare money to travel to warmer spots
like Hawaii or Australia, so they would be diving in much colder water than they were used
to. But then Katara remembered this was the time of year when whales would be migrating
close to where they were, and since they had never seen whales up close in person before, she
was convinced to go. Azula hardly ever felt cold, so the temperature was no problem for her.
Mai still wasn’t completely sure this was a good idea, but she wasn’t about to be left out of
one of her girlfriends’ dives.
A week later, the four of them found themselves submerged in the cold waters of the ocean,
several miles out from the shore. They were all wearing matching black wetsuits underneath
their color-coded scuba gear, properly lined to be as cold-resistant as possible. They even
wore dive gloves at Katara’s suggestion, keeping their hands warm. Katara also brought up
wearing dive hoods for head warmth, but her girlfriends shot that down, pointing out that
their signature hairstyles were the easiest way to tell each other apart.
Azula and Katara took the lead, with Azula holding a flashlight and Katara holding a sonar
device that detected whale calls. Mai and Ty Lee brought up the rear, also carrying flashlights
so they didn’t lose their girlfriends in the murky frigid water. Ty Lee twirled around and
around in the current, surprisingly nimbly for someone with a big oxygen tank strapped to her
back, but she’d done this so much it had become second nature to her.
Mai was glad Ty Lee was having fun, because she sure wasn’t. She really wished she’d taken
Katara’s advice and wore a dive hood, because her head was freezing. Not in a “this is serious
I think I might die” way, more in a “this is kind of painful and I’m annoyed” way. Mai had
never taken to the cold that well, she always bundled up in heavy coats, scarves and a hat
whenever she went outside in the winter, so she was kind of miserable right now.
“Hhhlll Mhhh,” Ty Lee burbled into her regulator, taking Mai’s hand and squeezing it.
Mai let out a muffled sigh and squeezed Ty Lee’s hand back. She could put up with the cold
as long as Ty Lee was here with her, she supposed.
Suddenly, they heard a loud, low cry echoing through the deep. The four girls stopped
swimming and looked around for the source of the noise. They knew water traveled farther in
water, but that noise was way too loud to be from too far away. Katara’s sonar device was
beeping like crazy, so she knew it had to be a whale call.
Sure enough, out of the blue came a huge humpback whale, practically gliding through the
water. Another whale followed close behind, and another, and another, and soon the girls
found themselves gazing upon a whole pod of humpbacks. Katara grabbed her underwater
camera and immediately started snapping pictures, while Ty Lee fawned over some of the
adorable whale calves. Even Azula and Mai simultaneously murmured “hhllly shhllt” into
their regulators, stunned by what they were seeing.
One of the calves seemed to be curious about the four human visitors and swam over to
investigate. Ty Lee let out a muffled squee when it nuzzled her hand, and she wasted no time
in petting it. Katara joined in, handing her camera over to Azula as she reached out to touch
the baby whale. Mai was a bit more hesitant, but even her icy heart melted when the whale
calf let her rub its underbelly. Azula swam over to the side to get everyone in the shot, and
Katara, Mai and Ty Lee all held up a hand in the OK sign as she snapped the picture.
One of the other whales in the pod, presumably the calf’s mother, let out a long call, and the
calf turned away and swam back to the pod. The girls watched them swim off into the depths,
continuing their long migration to warmer waters. Ty Lee, still feeling extremely giddy,
pulled Katara and Mai into a tight hug, or at least as tight as she could with all their scuba
gear. Katara and Mai held their hands out to pull Azula in too, and the four of them stayed in
their close embrace for a while.
Mai noted she wasn’t feeling cold anymore. How could she be, with her three loving
girlfriends by her side? Maybe braving the frigid January waters of the ocean was worth it
after all.
Once again, I'm sorry for the wait. I know I said this chapter would be up by the end of
2023, and we're two weeks into 2024. I guess I got distracted. I won't make any more
promises when the next parts will arrive, because I don't trust myself to stick to them.
Next up, we're taking a detour to a world where the answer lies in the heart of battle
with everyone's favorite rich girl/spunky girl duo, Karin and Sakura!
Karin/Sakura
Chapter Summary
Karin decides to add an aquarium to the Kanzuki Estate at Sakura's suggestion, and
Sakura gets to dress as a scuba diving mermaid.
Chapter Notes
I know Tekken 8 is out and I should've written an Asulili fic, but I've had this idea in my
head for a while now. Asuka and Lili will get their moment in the sun, but right now it's
Karin and Sakura's time to shine.
When Sakura suggested the addition of an aquarium to the Kanzuki Estate, Karin was
skeptical. Sure, an aquarium could give tourism to the Estate a big boost, and money
wouldn’t be an issue because she was Karin Kanzuki, but she had trouble envisioning how an
indoor aquarium would work in a manor. Sakura told Karin they would make it work and
gave her a peck on the cheek, and that was all the motivation Karin needed.
After months of construction, the Kanzuki Aquarium was finally completed and open for
tourism. It consisted of one large room about the size of Sakura’s dojo, with huge tanks of
water attached to all the walls, and one tall cylinder with a spiral staircase surrounding it for
guests to view the entire thing. The walls were a nice cool blue with tile art in the shape of
waves plastered all over them, and the lights were mostly dimmed so the lights in the tanks
stood out more. Fish and other sea creatures from all over the world were observable, with
Karin’s favorite being the lionfish for its regal look, and Sakura’s favorite being the piranha,
which confused Karin to no end.
Karin stood against the wall on the second floor and looked upon the finished aquarium with
pride. It was quite expensive, but very beautiful in her not-so-humble opinion. She was
particularly proud that she managed to get three tiger sharks, which she caught and wrestled
into submission herself. Her wetsuit got scratched up and one of her fins got a big bite hole in
it, but she could always buy replacements.
One thing kept catching Karin’s eye, and it wasn’t even one of the sea creatures themselves,
but their feeder and caretaker. Sakura was insistent right from the start that she would feed
the fish and clean all of the tanks. Karin could have paid someone else to do the job, but she
trusted Sakura to do everything right if she was this enthusiastic about it.
Sakura was currently inside the massive cylinder tank in the center of the room, feeding some
of the groupers. She was wearing a sky blue bikini top, and her lower half was completely
covered by a fake mermaid tail, which she personally requested. But seeing how Sakura
wasn’t an actual mermaid, she had to wear a scuba tank on her back so she could breathe
underwater, and a light blue mask over her eyes to see clearly. While it kinda ruined the
image of Sakura being a mermaid, the guests didn’t seem to care. Children especially loved
her, as over a dozen of them crowded around the cylinder tank, watching her swim around
and interact with the fish. They would all cheer and jump up and down in excitement
whenever Sakura did a flip for them.
Karin chuckled lightly to herself as she watched her girlfriend do tricks for the audience. She
thought Sakura’s combination of a mermaid tail and scuba gear made her look even more
adorable than usual. Sakura looked up to see Karin watching her, and she briefly removed her
regulator to flash a grin at her before turning back to keep entertaining the kids.
Once the aquarium closed for the day and all the guests left, Karin went up to the top of the
cylinder tank to speak with Sakura. Sakura saw her girlfriend walking her way and swam up
to the surface.
“I’m pleased to announce that opening day for the Kanzuki Aquarium was a resounding
success,” Karin beamed.
“Awesome,” Sakura said after spitting out her regulator, “I told you we’d make it work!”
“So you did,” Karin noted, leaning down to kiss her, “I must admit, you were right. How’s
the tail?”
“The tail works great,” Sakura laughed, playfully swishing it back and forth in the water, “I
kinda like it more than just wearing scuba fins on my feet.”
“Glad to hear it,” said Karin, “The kids seemed to really like watching you.”
“That’s why I wanted to look like a mermaid,” Sakura explained, “I love mermaids, kids love
mermaids, and a certain someone seemed to really love this mermaid in particular.”
“Wanna come down with me?” Sakura asked, adjusting the straps on her mask, “I still have
plenty of air left in my tank if you wanna have a short dive.”
“I’ll take you up on that offer,” she said, hurrying off to fetch her wetsuit and scuba gear.
A few minutes later, Karin joined Sakura in the water. Karin’s wetsuit was the same shade of
red as her jacket and skirt, while her fins, mask, air tank and regulator were a lighter, paler
hue. Karin thought she looked quite sophisticated for a scuba diver, Sakura just thought she
looked really pretty.
Sakura took Karin’s hand, and the two of them swam around the cylinder tank. Already there
was algae growing on some of the glass walls, which made Karin nearly gag into her
regulator, but Sakura just picked up a brush and started scrubbing away like a pro. Karin
always appreciated Sakura’s work ethic, but scrubbing away revolting-looking gunk made the
heiress’s appreciation for her grow even more.
A couple of smaller fishes swam up in front of Karin’s mask, looking expectantly at her.
Sakura handed Karin her bag of fish food, and Karin pulled some out, letting the fish eat
from her hand. One fish got a little too greedy and nipped her index finger.
Sakura let out a muffled giggle into her regulator and shooed the fish away, before wrapping
her girlfriend in a tight hug. Karin hugged Sakura back, which she found slightly awkward
with their dive gear, but it didn’t really matter. She’d endure all of the fish nips in the world
for moments like these.
Karin was really glad Sakura suggested the idea of building an aquarium, and not just for
monetary reasons or seeing Sakura as a scuba diving mermaid, but for the calm atmosphere
and gorgeous presentation giving her a better appreciation for sea life.
There will definitely be more Street Fighter fics coming, including a Juri story for
Femslash February, so I hope you look forward to them.
Next up, we'll be joining the Literature Club for a follow-up to my very first scuba story
with Monika, Yuri, Sayori and Natsuki!
Monika/Yuri, Natsuki/Sayori

Monika is getting bored at the Literature Club, so she invites Yuri, Sayori and Natsuki
on a scuba dive to freshen things up.

Taking a brief break from Femslash February to get another chapter of WDD for this
month. This was NOT meant to be almost two thousand words long, but sometimes I
just keep writing and writing and they end up being quite long. I hope you enjoy it!
This is meant to be sort of a sequel fic to Doki Doki Dive Club, one of my first ever fics,
but you can totally read this one without reading the last one.
Monika had been staring at the blank piece of paper in front of her for close to ten minutes
now. Usually, the ideas would just flow out of her brain and onto the page, but for some
reason, her creative juices were running dry today.
“Come on,” she groaned, running her fingers through her hair in frustration, “Think, Monika.
Ideas, ideas, ideas…”
“Monika, are you okay?” Yuri asked as she came up next to her.
“Yeah, I’m okay,” Monika sighed, “I’m just…I dunno, I’m just not feeling it today.”
“Really?” Yuri looked surprised, “This is the first time I’ve seen you have trouble writing.
Are you sure you’re alright?”
“I guess my heart’s not in it right now,” said Monika, “Don’t get me wrong, I love the
Literature Club, but I want to do something different.”
“I see,” Yuri nodded, taking Monika’s hand and squeezing it, “So what do you want to do?”
“I’m not sure,” Monika mused, tapping her forehead with her pencil, “We haven’t gone scuba
diving in a while. Does a dive sound good to you?”
“That does sound nice,” Yuri sighed wistfully, remembering the Literature Club’s first dive,
“Do you want to just go by ourselves, or shall we bring Sayori and Natsuki along?”
“We can dive with just the two of us anytime. If this is a club activity, the whole club should
be participating,” said Monika, standing up from her chair with newfound confidence and
enthusiasm.
She walked over to the closet where Sayori and Natsuki were sitting. They had their noses
buried in one of Natsuki’s manga, one that appeared to be about desserts from the cover,
which would explain why Sayori was practically drooling over the images.
“Okay, everyone!” Monika called out, bringing everyone’s attention towards her, “I’ve
decided that next week, as a special club activity, we’re going scuba diving!”
“Really?” Sayori gasped, “That sounds awesome! It’s been so long since our last dive, I
thought we might never try it again!”
“Are we going to see sharks?” Natsuki asked, a small grin forming on her face.
“Good enough for me,” Natsuki shrugged, “Besides, Sayori in scuba gear and a wetsuit is all
I really need.”
One week later, the four girls were on Monika’s rented speedboat, blasting across the ocean.
They weren’t headed anywhere in particular, just far enough into the open ocean with no land
in sight. Monika, Yuri, Sayori and Natsuki were already wearing their wetsuits, which were
yellow, purple, sky blue and pink respectively, hugging their curves nice and tight. Monika
leaned into the wind, letting her ponytail flutter behind her.
“Have we gone far enough?” she asked the other three girls.
After receiving three different variations of “okay sure”, Monika stopped the boat, and the
four girls went to put on their scuba gear.
“I hate these straps,” Natsuki grumbled, fiddling with the straps on her oxygen tank, “They’re
always too loose!”
“You gotta pull them out so they tighten up, silly!” Sayori giggled, “Let me help!”
Monika stifled a small laugh as she watched Sayori help Natsuki with her tank. They were
adorable together, she thought.
“Monika, do you have a leg strap that I could use for my knife?” Yuri asked.
Yuri shrugged, “If we run into a shark or some kind of poisonous fish, I want to be prepared.”
“Okay, everyone!” said Monika, flashing the okay sign, “Are we ready?”
“Then let’s go diving!” said Monika. She tightened her mask straps, put her regulator in her
mouth, and stepped off the boat and into the water. Yuri, Sayori and Natsuki did the same,
and all four girls were submerged in the sea.
Monika made a couple of motions with her hands, signaling to not stray too far from the boat
so they won’t get lost. The other three girls gave her the okay sign, and Sayori and Natsuki
swam off into the depths, presumably to look for some funny animals. Monika took Yuri’s
hand, and the two taller girls swam off to take in the atmosphere and serenity of the ocean.
Monika found scuba diving with Yuri to be incredibly relaxing, she had no idea why she
didn’t think of doing this before, and not just because Yuri looked incredibly hot in scuba
gear. The open ocean was so calming and serene, the deep blue color was among the most
beautiful on the planet, and even the sounds of the current made for perfect ASMR material.
Monika hadn’t spotted any sea creatures yet, but they weren’t diving at a reef this time, so
she expected the open sea to be more sparse.
“Hhhb Mmmnnkhh…,” Yuri burbled into her regulator, squeezing Monika’s hand, “Y’hh
uhkkh?”
While Monika and Yuri continued their relaxing dive date, Sayori and Natsuki had found a
school of small fish and were enjoying messing around with them. Natsuki kept blowing big
streams of bubbles through her regulator, messing with the fishes’ view, while Sayori tried to
catch one. Unfortunately, the little buggers were just too slippery, and Sayori couldn’t get a
single one. They both knew they probably shouldn’t be bullying the poor fishes, and Monika
would probably chastise them if she found out, but they were having too much fun to care.
Eventually, the school of fish got tired of being harassed and scattered off into the distance.
Sayori looked around for something else to do and spotted what appeared to be a random
plastic bag drifting in the current. Sayori’s eyes narrowed, she hated the thought of this
beautiful sea being polluted by lazy jerks who couldn’t be bothered to dispose of their trash
properly, so she went to grab it. Unfortunately for her, it wasn’t a plastic bag, and she was
now at the receiving end of a jellyfish’s stinging tentacles.
She grabbed Sayori’s wrist and pulled her away from the incoming jellyfish group. Once they
were a safe distance away, they gazed in awe at the sight in front of them. When they weren’t
a potential hazard, jellyfish were some of the most beautiful creatures in the sea, especially
when there were a ton of them clustered together. Natsuki remembered from a book she’d
read that a group of jellyfish was called a “smack”, which she thought was the dumbest name
ever given to a group of animals.
Natsuki looked at her air gauge and was surprised by how much of her air she’d used up
already. She decided now was a good time to look for Monika and Yuri, so she signaled
Sayori that it was time to get a move on. Sayori gave her the okay sign, and they swam off in
search of their friends.
By now, Monika and Yuri had run, or rather swam, into a new problem. A blue shark had
swum out of nowhere and was heading in their direction. The girls knew they couldn’t
outswim a shark, so they’d have to make a stand. Monika didn’t want to hurt a wild animal if
she could help it, she knew the shark was just minding its own business and was probably
just curious, but she would defend herself if necessary. Yuri took her knife out of her leg strap
and waved it around in hopes that the shark would go away, but it didn’t work. The shark was
now only ten feet away, and coming right for them. Monika and Yuri held each other tightly,
fearing for the worst.
But it turned out the shark really was just curious about these newcomers to its home. It
looked at the girls and tilted its head before swimming up to Monika’s side. Yuri held her
knife steadily just in case, but Monika held out her hand tentatively, hoping her reflexes were
fast enough if the shark decided to take a bite. The shark tapped Monika’s hand with its snout
and slowly swam around her, letting Monika pet its side.
“Whuuuhhbbb…,” Monika murmured into her regulator, stunned at the fact that she was
actually petting a shark. The shark’s skin felt rough to her hands, kind of like a leather coat.
She gestured to Yuri, inviting her to join in. Yuri re-sheathed her knife and hesitantly reached
out. Fortunately, the shark seemed to be in a good mood, as it stayed relatively calm as Yuri
and Monika petted it for a bit. Yuri had read somewhere that some sharks needed to keep
moving or else they would drown, so she understood why it kept swimming around them in
circles. Up close, she thought the shark looked kinda cute, nothing like the ravenous monsters
she and Monika had seen in the movies.
Eventually, the shark left, probably in search of food, and Monika and Yuri floated there for a
bit. Monika checked her air gauge and was disheartened to find the needle not too far above
the red. They must’ve been down there for over an hour and a half, but it felt way less than
that. Yuri’s air gauge yielded similar results, so they knew now was the time to head back.
On their way back to the boat, Monika and Yuri found Sayori and Natsuki heading in their
direction. Once the four girls reunited, Monika pointed upwards at the boat, and they swam
up to the surface.
“Man, that was awesome!” said Natsuki once they all got back on the boat and removed their
dive gear, “Monika, Yuri, you should’ve seen the smack of jellyfish we saw!”
“Yeah,” Natsuki nodded, “It’s a pretty dumb name if you ask me.”
“A group of crows is called a ‘murder’,” Yuri pointed out, “Naming conventions are odd
sometimes.”
“Those jellyfish were so pretty,” Sayori gushed, “One got me on the finger, but it wasn’t too
bad.”
“You WHAT?” Natsuki gasped, “You’ve gotta be kidding me! Sayori and I were down there
for nearly two hours and didn’t see a single shark, yet you and Yuri not only saw one but got
to pet it?!”
“There will be a next time, right?” Sayori asked, “I forgot how much fun scuba diving was!”
“Of course there will be a next time,” said Monika, “Would you all be up for a secondary
club specifically for scuba diving?”
“That’d be wonderful,” said Yuri, putting her arm around Monika and pecking her cheek.
“I’m glad you’re all so gung-ho about this,” Monika smiled warmly, “We’ll make the Dive
Club just as great as the Literature Club. I can’t wait for our next dive!”
Next up, we'll be taking the Lifestream to the world of Final Fantasy with Tifa and
Aerith!
