Mouse House Pattern

This document provides instructions for crocheting a mouse house and mouse using various colors of yarn. The mouse is worked in rounds starting with 4 single crochets in a magic circle and increasing and decreasing as needed to form the shape. Safety eyes are added between rounds. The house is worked in a combination of rounds and rows, with increases and decreases used to shape the sides and top. The top of the house is worked counter-clockwise in the front loops only to create texture. Once complete, mushroom spots can be embroidered on the top and the mouse placed inside the finished house.

Abbreviations
SC - single crochet
MC - magic circle
INC - increase
BOB - bobble stitch (6-loop)
ST - stitch
DEC - decrease
CH - chain
SL ST - slip stitch
FO - fasten off
FLO - front loops only

You'll Need
8.0mm crochet hook
Bernat blanket yarn in:
beige (Birch), red (Terracotta Rose), & gray (Seagull Gray)
15mm safety eyes
Fiber fill stuffing
Darning needle
Stitch markers (2 different colors - blue and yellow are used in
instructions)
Scissors

Notes
The house is worked in a combination of rounds, rows, and
freehand (creating single crochets along the edge of rows).
The mouse is worked in rounds.
The bobble stitch in the mouse is a 6-loop bobble.
Use stitch markers where indicated.
On the top of the house, you will be working counter
clockwise, therefore the technical “wrong side” of the top will
be facing out/up.

Finishing Up
Optional: You can flip your house “inside out” (before
embroidering spots) to have a less textured top.

Embroider mushroom spots on the top of the house,


using a darning needle and beige yarn.

Weave in ends.
