of the Itzá well") and is also located in Mexico, in
the municipality of Tinum, state of Yucatán. This
archaeological construction was carried out by the
Mayan civilization in the 6th century AD, then it
was the most important ceremonial, military and
political city in the Yucatan. It is known as one of
the seven wonders of the modern world since

splendid place, surrounded by a long history and
countless knowledge, but not only for its beauty

Certainly the solar equinox is an ancient astronomical perfection, for the stars and also for the

and September 22 at the beginning of spring and the
equinox of autumn, respectively, the solar projection
was observed on the north stairway of the pyramid of
Kukulkan, formed by seven inverted triangles of light
behind the shadow projected by the sun, unlike the nine
foundations of the building, at dusk, they take the
appearance of a serpent, gradually descending a ladder
to the top, resting at the bottom of the pyramid, until
completing the iconic plumed serpent

Without a doubt, another of the phenomena observed in the Mayan pyramids is the equinox that occurs at dawn of the
full moon, during which the visual game of dark triangles is repeated on the stairs of the El Castillo pyramid,
simulating a hairy snake. In compared, the summer solstice occurs when the sun rises on June 20, 21 and 22, a
spectacular phenomenon that illuminates only the north and east sides of the pyramid, while the south and west sides
remain in darkness. In the meantime, in winter, the opposite happens, that is, the illuminated part darkens and the dark
part lights up, in addition to the fact that it does not occur at dawn, but at dusk from December 20 to 22. Also, the
light and sound show, "The night of the Mayans", is a narration of a part of the history of the Mayans.

M ajestic, is usually the adjective most used by tourists to

describe the statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, a
unique destination to connect and be reborn as a person. Arriving
in the city and contemplating its imposing figure from afar, it
gives the feeling that it is welcoming us and that it really embraces
everyone with love. Without a doubt, it has captivated thousands
of people due to its exuberant style and its symbolism, which
designates Brazil as a nation of united Christians, representing the
faith and sympathy of the Carioca people. It is also perched on the
top of the Corcovado hill, a steep mountain that gives it a
privileged position as it faces the rising sun, offering a panoramic
view of the city, there we can appreciate a dense vegetation that
climbs up hills and mountains, to turn the impressive beaches
surrounded by blue waves that break on its shores. This is really
beautiful! Here we realize how small everything really is.

In the first instance, Father Pedro María had the initiative to build
this statue, but his project did not materialize until 1921, when the
Catholic circle of Rio de Janeiro took up his idea, summoning a
large collection for its financing that unexpectedly obtained a
massive response. The sculptor in charge was the French Paul
Landowski, who shaped the project in his hometown, so little by
little the plan for the creation of Christ the Redeemer came to life.

This religious icon represents the image of Jesus Christ 38 meters

high, with a severe and serene face that commands respect and
demands redemption. Its structure is covered by soapstone, a soft
stone resistant to any change in temperature, arranged in small
pieces that were polished before being applied to the entire statue,
forming a gigantic mosaic, which was applied for the first time in
a monumental project. Finally, the great Christ the Redeemer was
deservedly chosen among the 7 wonders of the modern world in
2007, becoming the undisputed symbol of Brazil, a destination
that will always be part of any tourist's itinerary to awaken faith
and hope.

T he Roman Coliseum is an amphitheater

built in the 1st century, more precisely at
the time of the Roman Empire. It is located
in the center of the city of Rome, Italy
whose original name is Flavian
Amphitheater, which refers to the Flavian
dynasty of emperors who built it..

A posteriori change the name of

Colosseum and it is by which it is known
today. This name is due to a great
monument located nearby, which is The
Colossus of Nero. Definitely one of the
most significant data is that it was declared
a World Heritage Site in 1980 by During the fall of the Western Roman Empire in 476 AD, but it was
UNESCO and is one of the Seven no longer used for public entertainment and became a quarry from
Wonders of the Modern World. which material was extracted for the construction of new buildings.
Thanks to the 17th century, it was declared a sanctuary by Pope
Benedict XIV because during it it was believed that many Christian
martyrs died in this place, which prevented the progressive
extraction of materials from the Colosseum. Later in the 19th
century much restoration work was done to the structure finally.

P etra is an ancient city carved into the red cliffs of the desert, the
city is located in southern Jordan, in the Ma'an State and affiliated
with the Wadi Musa district. Among its most outstanding elements
is the Khazneh, which is the two-story safe and has a height of 78
meters. In 1985 the archaeological city of Petra was declared a
World Heritage Site by UNESCO and in 2007 it was declared one
of the new wonders of the world. The city was uninhabited for
hundreds of years but came to have its boom years which led to a
powerful commercial center with a prime location for the silk and
spice trade routes it was also the capital of the Nabataean empire
for its strategic location. It was a connection between Arabia,
Africa, Egypt and India. since he also had other precious goods
that converged on Petra.
To date no one knows when the city was built, but it is known that
it was a prosperous city in the 1st century BC. The facade of the
buildings was carved directly from the canyons and the buildings
are admired for many reasons. the intricate carvings on the facade
were a testament to the wealth of the civilization and the position of
power in the commercial business of the facade which is called “Al
khazneh or The Treasury” and the is the official entrance to this
city.It is noteworthy that it was carved from a beautiful pink
sandstone, which is why Petra is also called the Pink City.
Other cultures envied Petra's prosperity and the
city had to fight the Greeks while it succeeded
over Greece, but when the Roman Empire tried
to invade Petra they faced defeat. In the 4th
century after Christ a great earthquake destroyed
much of the city and the Romans decided to
leave, later the Byzantine Empire took over and
ruled for almost 300 years. Over time Petra lost
its strategic trading position and was abandoned
and hidden from most of the world. But years
later Petra was discovered on August 22, 1812 by
the 27-year-old Swiss explorer Johan Ludwig
Borchardt.

O ne of the most beautiful monuments in the world is the result

of a wonderful and tragic love story. Taj Mahal is located in the
city Agra and it means the India’s symbol like the Statue of
Liberty in US or the Eiffel tower in France. Also, it represents the
Islamic, Iranian and Persian style through a set of buildings,
gardens, lakes and fountains with perfectly organized symmetry,
or this can be seen in their marble walls filled with more than 28
types of gems, the central fountain, the optical illusions, the four
water bodies arranged in cross shape where lotus flowers float, as
well as in the river Yamuna was even diverted so that the Taj
Mahal could be reflected in its waters.

For this purpose, the builders took 22 years to buil it, from 1631
to 1653 and 20.000 men and 1000 elephants were needed for its
construction. Actually, it is said that the architects’ hands were
cut off so that they would not design again a work like that,
legend or reality? We don’t know, but behind this creepy fact, Taj
Mahal is not just a great architectural work that looks like a fairy
tale castle, it’s a mausoleum dedicated for the emperor Shah
Jahan’s third wife, called Arjumand Banu Begum and known as
Muntam Mahal, they live a perfect romance where they supported

emperor’s love, who after she died,
wanted to build a temple as beautiful as
his beloved to pay homage to her,
becoming the reason for so much
money spent on the work, and so many
demands on the workers, but thanks to
