REFLECTIONS
The article presented for SBA shows that the GDP grew by 52% in 2019 because of less impact
of COVID-19. It then shows that unemployment rate grew by 11% due to the impact of Covid-
19. It then shows the current GDP of -20%,thus meaning the country is producing less and also
losing the mass of its workforce. This indicates that parallel to the fact that jobs were getting shut
down, the Gross Domestic Produce also went down. This tells us that the unemployment rate
went up as well because there were insufficient labor to assist in the production of certain goods.
The video presented for the SBA was created by the OECD and states that the COVID-19
pandemic's consequences were severe with or without a second wave. It significantly harmed
people's health, livelihoods, and general well-being by producing the worst global economic
recession in nearly a century. The road to recovery was unpredictable without a vaccination.
There were two probable outcomes: a single strike or a second wave that would result in a sharp
decline in global GDP. Young people were among the hardest hit as unemployment would
skyrocket.
The song presented for the SBA is titled “ We Are The World” was composed and sung by
teenagers as a tribute to individuals who were gravely affected by the pandemic whether it was
financial, losing a loved one, etc. This depicts how negatively impactful the pandemic was
because of how these teens were heartened the situation and put in effort and talent to comfort
persons all across the globe.

Written Report
The researchers began their study after deciding on their topics by using the internet and
conducting additional research through questionnaires and unstructured conversations with peers.
As the researchers conducted their investigation, they learned more about both their subtopic and
the overall subject. The researchers met on Zoom to discuss their progress on the SBA during the
course of finishing this project owing to the pandemic.
Based on the subtopic “How Covid has affected the school system” the printed piece was
chosen. The impact of Covid on daily life and the major strain on children’s education were both
covered in this article. Information indicates that Covid has been around for a long time but it
had already dominated the majority of the population. Because of the set back many schools
were closed in order to prevent outbreaks.
The subtopic "The impact of Covid 19 on Guyanese Household" was relevant to the
audio that was chosen. The singer illustrated how Covid has made day to day living hard. It
explained how quarantine has slowed the flow of income. It also demonstrated how Covid 19 has
brought the world to a standstill.
Finally, the video chosen was from the subtopic "The effects of Covid 19 on the job
industry". In the video, the speaker discussed how people are more concerned with the long-term
effects of Covid 19 on the job industries. He mentioned that Guyanese need to unite in order to
deal with Covid 19's threat on the job industry.
The researchers learned about the different effects of Covid 19 from the
aforementioned studies, including how it affects our daily lives, our health, and potential changes
to our lives in the future. The researchers also found strategies for preventing these
consequences, as described in the SBA. The researchers also developed their vocabulary and
writing abilities.

Oral Report
An Unwelcomed Guest
Freshly thawing from the chills of the Christmas spirit,
The world least expected it’s next memorable even so gruesome of events.
Creeping into the world without sign or warning,
Was what would soon be the plague of millions.
About two months in,
The world crumbled slowly.
“6 ft. apart”, “Sanitize your hands”, “No mask, No entry”,
The world was being held against its will.
Families fell into depression and despair,
In the absence of their loved ones,
At which some had departed without having a goodbye note to spare.
Small businesses shut down.
Breadwinners were left to pillar their families, some single and some not.
Crime increased- The world was fatally unravelling,
as families trampled back and forth with hunger and poverty.
Children and teens forced to drop out of school-abandon their education,
And for what cause? survival.
All that was left in the world were broken families,
By the hands of grief and by the confoundment of responsibilities in the household.
Non other was rewarded than our Unwelcomed Guest.
