Application for post of Media and Communications Officer

I am applying for the above post in response to your recent advertisement through Kubatana Net. I hold
a PhD in Communication, MSc in Media and Society Studies, Post Graduate Diploma in Media and
Society studies, BA in English and Communication Studies and Diploma in Education.

I respectfully submit this application because l believe I could be the ideal candidate for the position. My
academic qualifications as well as extensive experience I acquired from teaching at Mutare Polytechnic,
Chinhoyi University of Technology and Zimbabwe Open University have equipped me with the requisite
expertise to the position at hand. I also have experience working with some local NGOs as a consultant
in Advocacy and Communication activities; and have participated in many workshops organised by NGOs
such as Media Monitors, Media Alliance Zimbabwe, Media Centre, Zimbabwe Democracy Institute,
National Aids Council, among others where I have presented papers. I have always been interested in
working for vulnerable and marginalized communities. I have extensive experience in carrying out
research and I possess excellent report writing skills, desktop publishing among other skills outlined in
your advertisement.

I have acquired solid administrative, organisational and management skills, tranining, teaching, research
skills and corporate communication through these institutions. I possess impeccable analytical, writing
and verbal communication skills and I am adept at working within cross- function teams in a culturally
diverse working environment. In my professional career l have cultivated a culture of ensuring that
colleagues are treated with dignity and respect. My adaptability, organizational and time management
skills allow me to remain highly focused within intense environments with competing demands and
heavy loads. I also have ability to cope with a frequently changing environment and adapt to evolving
situations.
