Career decisions play a crucial role in an individual's chosen profession and
overall success in life. Wrong career decisions can have negative effects in an
individual's life so most people attach some degree of diligence in selecting a career

impacts a person's whole future.
Md Siddiky, Shahanaz Akter (2021) Higher education is essential for socio-economic
development of Bangladesh, as universities are the generators of knowledge and students are
the most important part of this process.Career planning is essential for successful career
choices and strategies, as it helps students achieve their career aspirations. The social cognitive
career theory (SCCT) suggests that students' career choices are determined by the interaction
of three variables: self-efficacy, outcome expectations and personal goals. Self-efficacy
denotes an individual's personal beliefs about their capabilities to carry out particular
behaviors or course of actions, while outcome expectations are beliefs about the consequences
or outcomes of performing particular behaviors. Personal goals incorporate one's intention to
engage in certain activity or to produce a particular outcome, and when a person thinks they
are competent enough to perform a particular activity and expects it to produce a valued
outcome, they are likely to develop interests in that activity. However, personal interests may
be constrained by social and cultural factors. The social learning theory (SLT) suggests that
four factors influence career decision-making: genetic endowment, environmental conditions,
learning experiences, and task-approach skill.

among the younger generation, should be carefully considered because they have long-term
consequences. They also stated that society has an influence on the career decisions that
young people make. When it comes to career development, societal rules and divisions limit
young people's options based on their culture, socioeconomic status, access to higher
education, familial relationships, and level of socialization participation.
According to (Odiri E. Onoshakpokaiye,2022), it is impossible to overstate the
significance of parental support and direction. Overemphasized. There are a lot of options for
students' career choices. Making a wise professional decision is challenging for some people
today. Some who had the option to pick a career are unsatisfied or uncomfortable with the
decision theymade as a result of a poor decision. It is essential and crucial for parents to begin
Before sending their children to school, parents should begin to nurture and guide them
system, so as to avoid regretting it afterwards.
Peers and seniors are more approachable and reliable, organizations don't share all
and/or objective data, job seekers are clueless and follow a "smart" herd, and job seekers make
