Reflection 1
I didn't go to school during the day today because I have a final project to give a
presentation on in college and I was at school during the day preparing for it. Went to
school in the evening to help. Because it's International Day this Friday, the teachers
are busy setting up their classes and need to do a lot of crafts, and the homeroom
teacher and teaching assistants are working extra hours in their classes and didn't go
home. The theme of our class is Thailand, and we prepare Thai content. About Thai
culture, Thai money, and each class must prepare their own country's corresponding
passport. Students and teachers have been preparing for International Day for a long
time. Students drew the national flower of Thailand, made crafts with flowers
encrusted with the Thai flag, and prepared many Thai animals. When I was working
overtime, I had a chance to chat with the class teacher's assistants about their
evaluation of some of the students, and I also asked them about their usual teaching
methods.

The students only had three classes today, Math, Bible, and Reading. Teachers were
also busy today because tomorrow is International Day, but our class set up was not
completed. And the first graders are too young for them to help the teachers with the
setup, so the teachers had to do most of it. Today during bible class, the teacher asked
to use the class TV to show a video to the students, but the TV suddenly had no
internet and couldn't search for anything. The teacher could only try to describe the
images in the story as best she could, and some of the students' attention left the class.
Aids in the class are very important to grab the attention of the students and will also
make the images more vivid. Today the teacher also asked the students to write a
sentence about the theme of gratitude and attach a picture. Students need to learn to be
thankful, for the things and people around them. It is important to learn to be
thankful.

Reflection 3
Today is the last day of my internship and International Day. I'm still a little sad to see
the smiling faces of these students. At the very beginning of International Day, the
students went to the basketball court and there was an opening ceremony where two
students and one teacher from each grade represented the country they were preparing
for. Then there were performances by each class, each grade prepared a different
dance, and many parents came to the school to join the students for this event. Today
each student brought food that would be for sale and students of all ages came to visit
and buy their favorite food. I visited each class with the students and the theme of the
country was different for the different ages. It was a great way to learn about the
culture of different countries. Year 5 decorated China, they wrote couplets and fortune
words in brush strokes and put them in the class as decoration, another class prepared
a dragon shape, which was very vivid, and the food sold by Year 9 was delicious.
Many parents also came to the school to join the students for this event. This kind of
activity promotes students from different countries to understand each other.
