Presentation: Warm up : asking question : have you ever planted a bean seed in a paper towel?
Tools : a 250 ml plastic cup – soil –paper towels – seeds (beans or any other types) –plastic bags – water –
metric ruler – pen or marker )
-Place three seeds on the top half of the paper towel. Fold the bottom half of the towel up so that it
covers the seeds. Place the paper towels inside the plastic bag and seal it.
-Label the bag and the cup with your name. Then, place the bag and the cup in a place where they
              can get sunlight.
-Check the growth of the seeds over the next several days. Dampen the paper towel and water the
              soil as needed.
Conclusion : Plants can grow without the soil for a while if they have water and sunlight, but later
they will need either soil or an alternative that provides minerals and other important elements.
              Evaluation: Put ( √ ) or (X )

Presentation: Warm up: asking questions : Does the plant grow in the sunlight as the
   plant grow in the dark?
In this activity, you will test some of your ideas about how the plants grow in the light and in the dark.
We conclude that, Sunlight is one of the basic needs of the plant to survive and grow.
➢ All living organisms have basic needs that they must meet to survive.
What do humans and plants need to grow and survive.
The plant has a system that helps it to absorb water and nutrients from the soil and deliver them to all parts of
     the plant.
Stomata: they’re tiny openings that allow air that the plant needs to move into the leaves.
Evaluation:
Complete the following:
1- In photosynthesis process, green plants get ……… from air to make its own food.
2- There are tiny holes called ……… in the plant that transport water and nutrients to other plant parts.

Presentation: Warm up : asking questions : what is meant by photosynthesis?
➢ Plant roots : plant roots functions : 1- anchor the plant in the soil – they absorb
water and nutrients from the soil – they’ve features called root hairs.
➢ Stem: transport water and nutrients to all the parts of plant-gives the plant
     support
➢ Leaves : makes food for the plant through the photosynthesis process.
➢ Photosynthesis process : takes place inside the leaves – there is chlorophyll inside
the leaf that captures energy from sunlight – it is responsible for energy
     production for the plant
Evaluation:
Choose the correct answer:
1- …………….. fix the plant in the soil. ( Roots – Stem – Leaves )
2- …………….. have wood stems, while ………… have tubers stem. (Shrubs, vines – Vines
potatoes – Shrubs, potatoes – Potatoes, trees )

   to survive ?
Plants can get energy through photosynthesis process, while humans search for food.
Air enters the plant through the leaves, while air enters our bodies through the nose and
    mouth.
Circulatory system : it is the system that transports blood and other fluids throughout
    the body.
There are two types of blood vessels : arteries and veins . There is transport system in
plants that consists of : xylem and phloem.

Presentation: warm up : what are the similarities between plant transport system and
   human circulatory system?
plants have some structures that take in water and nutrients from the soil and move
them to other parts of the plant.
Plants also have other structures that absorb sunlight and take in carbon dioxide to
make glucose sugar which is used by plant cells for food.
Glucose as a source of energy for plants:
Phloem moves glucose from the leaves to the other parts of the plant.
During photosynthesis process, the plant also produces oxygen and water which are
   released into the air.
Flowers produce seeds for the plant that help the plant to reproduce.
They’re the reproductive parts of many plants.
