Install QNX Software Center
Step 1: - QNX Software Center Installation:
- Go to www.qnx.com and log in to your My QNX account.
- Make sure that you have a license assigned to your account.
- Go to QNX Software center
- Download and install QNX Software Center for Windows without changing the default
configurations of the install wizard - http://www.qnx.com/download/group.html?
programid=29178
QNX Software Center configuration
- Open the QNX Software Center.
- If the following message appears:
Click on “Update Proxy Settings and Retry”.
(If not, the proxy settings are located in Windows->Preferences->Proxy Connections)
- Update the proxy settings with the following proxies –
HTTPS Proxy: proxy.visteon.com:80
HTTP Proxy: proxy.visteon.com:80.
As shown below and click OK.
- Test the connection to the server
Enter your CID and password if requested. The QNX Software Center should open and connect
to your account successfully.
- You need to see
Install and configure QNX7.
Step 2: - Install QNX7.
- In QNX Software Center click on Add Installation.
- Select QNX Software Development Platform 7.0 and click Next.
- Enter “C:\qnx700” as installation folder and click Next.
- Click Next two more times and the License Key Selection window should be reached. Select the
Perpetual Floating License and click Finish.
- Select to activate the license later and wait for the installation to complete successfully (You will
be prompted a message that the installation has completed successfully).
Step 3: - Configure QNX7.
- Update the following environment variables:
QNX_CONFIGURATION = C:\Users\YourUserName\.qnx
QNX_HOST = C:\qnx700\host\win64\x86_64
QNX_TARGET = C:\qnx700\target\qnx7
FLEXLM_TIMEOUT=1000000
Note:
YourUserName string is your user CDSID on your computer running Windows operating system.
- Open QNX 7.0 Momentics “C:\QNX\QNX Momentics\qde.exe” or icon on the desktop. A
message that the Perpetual Floating License needs to be activated might appear.
- Open the QNX Software Center and click on Manage License Keys
- Go to Licenses
- Select the Perpetual Floating License and click Activate
- In case you do not succeed in activating the license you will have the following dialog
- Restart QNX 7.0 Momentics and it should open without any additional messages or action
requests.
NOTE: In case you receive any error message please follow the steps below:
You are probably installing for the first time QNX on that computer you need to add a registry
key
Double click on that embedded file or in:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FLEXlm License Manager
add
Key String: QNXLM_LICENSE_FILE
Key Value: 7130@glcpd423.vistcorp.ad.visteon.com
- Restart QNX 7.0 Momentics and it should open without any additional messages or action
requests.
- Enjoy your QNX 7
-In case you receive an error when you open Momentics.
- You can copy a paste the “qnx700-env.bat “, which temporarily set environment variables. This
can be the case when you have multiple QNX Momentics versions installed on your computer
and you want to use QNX Momentics 7 temporarily, by setting the environment variables
specific to QNX 7 installation.
- Then change the startup menu to call the batch file. I preserved the QNX Momentics icon and
invoking of the batch file remains hidden for the user. You will have to update the qnx700-
env.bat file (attached below) accordingly with your CDSID on your computer and the QNX 7
installation folder.
Download QNX SD7 x86 Virtual Machine Image for vmware
Once you select the above marked package click install, it will install the required packages in
the installation path
For example: C:\qnx700\vmimages.
