The QWERTY layout was designed to prevent the keys on a typewriter from
getting stuck when typing fast. The letters on the keyboard were arranged in a
way that kept the most commonly used keys apart from each other, so that
they would not get jammed together.

What is the difference between a QWERTY keyboard and a normal keyboard?

The most common keyboard is the QWERTY International keyboard. The major
difference in this keyboard versus others is that it has a vertical Enter / Return key. The
Backslash is located to the left of the Enter / Return key.
