Lamby by Tanis Gray for Cascade Yarns

Materials:
• 2 Skeins Cascade Yarns Pluscious (3.5oz/100g ea
approx. 149yds/136m, 100% polyester) in #17 Mint
• Size US 9 (5.5 mm) 24” Circular Knitting Needles
• Size US 9 (5.5 mm) DPNs
• Stitch Marker
• Tapestry Needle
• 2 ½” Safety Eyes
• 1 ½” Safety Nose
• Polyfil Stuffing

Gauge:
• Gauge is not important for this project

Approximate Finished Size:


• 23” High

Instructions:
Body
• Using circular knitting needle, CO 40 sts. DO NOT
join into round – body is worked back and forth in
rows from bottom up.
• Work in garter st (knit every row) until work
measures 12” from CO edge.
• Next Row: *k2tog* to end of row – 20 sts.
• Next Row: k2, *k2tog* to last 2 sts, k2 – 12 sts.

Head
• Divide 12 body sts evenly over DPNs, pm for beginning of round, k12.
• Next Round: *kfb* to end of round – 24 sts.
• Next Round: k24.
• Next Round: *kfb* to end of round – 48 sts.
• Work in garter st for 20 rounds.
• Next Round: *k2tog* to end of round – 24 sts.
• Next Round: k24.
• Next Round: *k2tog* to end of round – 12 sts.
• Next Round: *k2tog* to end of round – 6 sts.
• Break yarn, leaving long tail. Weave tail through rem sts and cinch shut. Secure on WS.

Right Leg
• With DPNs, pick up and knit 12 sts on lower right edge of body.
• Work in garter st for 1”.

• Next Row: [ssk] twice, k4, [k2tog] twice – 8 sts.
• Next Row: [ssk] twice, [k2tog] twice – 4 sts.
• BO rem sts.

Left Leg
• With DPNs, pick up and knit 12 sts on lower left edge of body.
• Continue as for right leg.

Tail
• With DPNs, find back center bottom of body, pick up and knit 6
sts vertically 1” from bottom edge.
• Work in garter st for 1”.
• Next Row: ssk, k2, k2tog – 4 sts.
• Next Row: ssk, k2tog – 2 sts.
• BO rem sts.

Arms (Make 2 Alike)


• With DPNs, pick up and knit 8 sts at body edge, directly under
head.
• Work in garter for 25 rows.
• Next Row: [ssk] twice, [k2tog] twice – 4 sts.
• Next Row: ssk, k2tog – 2 sts.
• BO rem sts, repeat for other side.

Ears (Make 2 Alike)


• With DPNs, CO 10 sts.
• Work in garter st for 18 rows.
• Next Row: [ssk] twice, k2, [k2tog] twice – 6 sts.
• Next Row: ssk, k2, k2tog – 4 sts.
• Next Row: k4.
• Next Row: ssk, k2tog – 2 sts.
• Next Row: k2.
• BO rem sts, fold ear in half lengthwise and attach to head where
desired. Repeat for other side.

Finishing
• Attach safety eyes and safety nose to desired spot on face.
• Stuff head with polyfil, being careful not to overstuff.
• With 12” piece of yarn and tapestry needle, stitch bottom of
head closed to retain polyfil.
• Weave in all loose ends with tapestry needle.
