as best you can.
Then write a list of what we call "I Am's," using strong words that form clear, positive pictures of
yourself and making sure they are written in the present tense as if they already exist. EX: I am
the successful owner of an online business. I am the innovator behind the best new product of
2022. I am a world traveler who has been to every continent.
Once you have a clear picture of what your ideal world looks like and who you are in it (your "I

Action Assignment:
Repeat your I Am's out loud; you can say them to yourself
with your eyes closed, to yourself looking in a mirror or say
them to someone you trust. The important thing is that
your I Am's are verbalized so they can more easily
materialize. When you are reviewing them, assess how
impactful your goals are. Are they big enough? Do they
include others? Repeat your 10-minute visualization 2x
today (in the morning and evening).
I watched the video and have a good understanding of what a Vision Board is:
13
START YOUR VISION BOARD
Your Vision Board is due the end of Week #4. Now is a good time to start thinking about your
Vision for your future so you will have plenty of time to complete your assignment on time. And
the sessions you have been reviewing have been designed to help you along the way.
In today’s video, Josh takes you through WHY Vision Boards are an important part of the
process...and HOW you might set yours up. As a young entrepreneur himself, Josh has completed
many Vision Boards and keeps upgrading his vision, always ensuring that his Vision Board evokes
an emotional response.
He also shares several examples of Vision Boards created by other YESS students so you can see all
the different ways a Vision Board can be done. Click here for more Vision Boards templates.
1) Create your Vision Board electronically (or physically and then take a picture of it). Please do
NOT include your name in the Vision Board that you submit. We share these from time-to-time
in social media and at graduation and would rather not include student names for privacy
purposes. If you do include your name, it will not be removed when shared. Please do NOT create
a PowerPoint with multiple pages. A Vision Board should be one page that can be posted on a wall
or displayed on one screen on your computer.
Notice that most boards include empowering images and quotes that align with what you want
your future to look like. The best boards include color, quotes or phrases that motivate you and
images that inspire YOU. While you can make it electronically, there is something powerful and
visceral about making it by hand and as big as possible. Once you have created your board, hang a
copy on the wall where you can see it daily.
2) File image size for the assignment should be at least 3" x 5" AND 150 dpi so image is clear when
enlarged.
3) Name your file using this format: FirstName LastName-VISION (EX: Brad Sugars-VISION)
4) Keep refining your Vision Board. At the end of Week #4 you will be asked to upload it.
14

Action Assignment:
Work on your Vision Board. Spend time with your mentor if you get stuck.
LESSON 5: Perturbation
Questions to Ponder:
Action Assignment:
Continue working on your Vision Board, fine-tuning any of those areas that need more
attention. This is a good time to give it to someone you trust (your mentor) and have them
provide feedback. Be open to challenges they may make, even if these challenges shake your
world some and create temporary confusion or chaos in your beliefs; this is how the process
of growth and improvement occurs.
Questions to Ponder:

the value and structure of each. We will discuss both more next week.
Click here for a sample of the Vision and Mission Statement of ActionCOACH.
Questions to Ponder:
What is the average score (out of 10,000) for an individual's success formula?

each based on clarity you have and the value of the results you are getting. Total your score by
multiplying all 4 numbers. EX: 10 x 10 x 10 x 10 = 10,000
24
Submit Your Vision Board Online!
Click here to see sample Vision Boards or watch Creating Your Vision Board with Josh Bardsley.
Notice that most boards include empowering images and quotes that align with what you want
your future to look like. The best boards include color, quotes or phrases that motivate you and

Download the Simple Business Plan Online and Print It Out
We are now moving into the learnings on running a business. As you begin to review the business
strategies presented in the following Weeks 6, 7, 8 and 9, take good notes. This is the perfect time
to start fleshing out your business ideas and incorporating them into your Business Plan, which is
due the end of Week #9.
While most business plans are longer and more detailed than what we require, your assignment in
this course is just a simple template you will need to complete.
2) NAME the file using the following format: FirstName LastName - Business Name - BIZPLAN (EX:
Brad Sugars - ActionCOACH - BIZPLAN)
3) Watch the video for tips on completing the Business Plan template.
4) Complete the template gradually using tools we will give you throughout the coming
weeks. Download the Monthly Profit and 5-Ways Calculations Worksheets and Sample Business
Budget available in upcoming lessons; these have been designed to help you work through your
numbers so you will have what you need for the financials for your Business Plan and the Video
Pitch.
5) Be as detailed and accurate as possible. The numbers should add up. A Business Plan helps
you brainstorm, problem solve and work out the most important details of your business. Once
complete, it provides potential partners with a blueprint of your idea. If your plan does not make
financial sense, no one will want to invest in it or partner with you.
6) Take your time with your plan. You will not be able to submit it until the end of Week 9.

business it is, what you are selling to whom, what is the need you will fill, how big is your market,

provide free coaching, etc.?) If you've taken good notes when watching the assigned Shark Tank
episodes, you can copy the format of the pitches that the contestants in that show use.
And we must see YOU in the video. While this may feel uncomfortable, as we have learned in
Brad's Business Basics, getting out of our comfort zone is the only way to grow.
There are a variety of ways you can tell your story, so be creative. We want to get a feel for your
personality and your passion for your business. And please speak clearly so we can understand
your beautiful pitch.
3) When you are happy with your pitch, prepare the file. It should be either a mp4 file smaller
than 100 mg. If your file is larger than 100 mg, compress it first. There is free software available
online to help you do this, although many computers have software built in that will do it for you.
Or you may find it easier to upload your mp4 file to You Tube or another video hosting service so
you can easily share the URL link. If you use You Tube, make sure the video settings are set to
UNLISTED (NOT private or public). To share the link, copy it to a blank page in Word or another
Notes file and save that file.
4) Once your file is the right type and size, upload it below. Your pitch video will be kept in the
strictest of confidence.
5) You can also use this link to craft a short slide deck for a pitch to support your video.

1) Link to this sample script for pitching your business to an investor or buyer. Use it to draft a
script or bullet points to pitch your business on camera. The questions will help you organize your
thoughts. And here's a supportive video on pitching that the YESS Club ambassador, Josh
Bardsley, has done just for you. He includes in it the five components of every great pitch and
demonstrates with one pitch he has used himself.
Think about the questions you would ask your friend about their business before giving them
$500. Make sure you answer these questions for a potential investor about your business. At a
bare minimum, include the following: your name, the name of your business, what type of
business it is, what you are selling to whom, what is the need you will fill, how big is your market,
how will you reach new customers and grow the business, how much will you sell your product
for, how much will it cost you to make, anticipated profit margin, long-term goals and the Call to
Action (what do you want the viewer to do--give you $$$, become a 30% partner in the company,
provide free coaching, etc.?) If you've taken good notes when watching the assigned Shark Tank
