3.1 Hennes & Mauritz AB or H&M Group (abbreviated and stylized as H&M) is
a multinational clothing company based in Sweden that focuses on fast-fashion clothing. As of 23
June 2022, H&M Group operated in 75 geographical markets with 4,801 stores under the various
company brands, with 107,375 full-time equivalent positions.
H&M is the second largest international clothing retailer. H&M was founded by Erling Persson,
and the shop's current CEO is Helena Helmersson..

We decide upon this topic because, in the future, we hope to establish our own non-renewable
retail brand. H&M has been chastised for continuing to engage in unsustainable practices such
as mass production of quick fashion and the use of non-renewable materials. At the end of the
day, H&M remains a significant player in the unsustainable fast fashion sector. It has a significant
negative influence on the environment since it promotes "disposable" fashion and frequently
introduces new trends and items. These factors contribute to the growing number of inexpensive
apparel that is thrown out after a few uses. The usage of non-renewable energy sources affects
more than simply the atmosphere of the Earth through increasing greenhouse gas emissions.
They also release a number of contaminants that are bad for the environment and human health.
For instance, the US's single greatest source of mercury emissions is coal-fired power plants

merchandise to create displays that appeal to the eye and draw in customers.
2. Trend Analysis: Take a look at how experts monitor and assess fashion trends to
forecast upcoming trends and make educated judgements about product design,
marketing, and purchasing.
3. Styling: Help fashion designers put together ensembles for photo sessions,
runway presentations, or editorial spreads.
Learn how to select hair and makeup styles, clothing, and accessories to produce a
particular appearance or concept.
4. Fashion Marketing and PR: Learn how fashion firms build their brand identity and
advertise their items through a variety of marketing methods. Learn about event
planning, social media management, and public relations tactics.
5. Fashion Buying and Planning: Recognise the procedure for choosing and buying
goods for brick-and-mortar stores or e-commerce websites. Learn the techniques

used by experts to estimate demand, analyse sales data, bargain with suppliers, and
manage stock levels.

Always be proactive, pay close attention, ask questions, and take notes when job
shadowing. You will learn more and gain more value from the experience the more
invested you are.
3.5 Job shadowing is often used to introduce new employees to an organization or to
introduce them to a new role. In job shadowing, we learnt about the roles and
responsibilities of other employees and other departments and reflected on the
experiences of our instructor and learnt from them we also saw how other
employees and teams performed.
Job shadowing in retail can help you develop a number of skills and qualities that
you may develop later in life, such as empathy, active listening skills, patience,
flexibility, and communication skills. Sometimes you will be working with a client who
wants to slow things down, and you will need to match their pace. Or you will be
facing a client who wants you to go back 10 times to find the exact product they are
looking for. Sales associates are expected to be friendly and inviting to anyone who
comes in the door. Friendly people are the foundation of all sales and customer
service abilities.
