ICE BREAKER GAMES

Electricity Game:

Equipment - Coin and Cone

Split into 2 even teams. Each team forms a line standing side by side and facing the other team,
holding hands with the person next to them. All players close their eyes except for the two people at
the end of each chain. A single cone will be placed at the end of the line between these two players.
This game is to be played silently. At the start of each round, the Leader flips a coin. If it lands on
HEADS, the Leader will simultaneously tap the shoulders of the two people at the front of each line.
The two people will squeeze the hand of the next person in the chain as fast as they can, and so on
down the chain. Once the person at the end of each line receives the signal, they will reach out and
grab the cone. The first team to grab the cone at the end of the chain is the winner.

It is important for the leader to flip the coin slowly and wait several seconds between flips. If
someone grabs the cone but there was no “heads” coin toss, that team loses a point. You may
change up the team order after each round if desired. The first team to reach six points wins.

Ooga Booga:

Equipment - N/A

Have all participants stand in a circle with arms around one another’s shoulders. All participants look
down at the ground and say, “Ooga Booga, Ooga Booga, Ooga Booga, look!” and then look up at
another person in the circle on the word “look.” If any two participants make eye contact, they are
out and must leave the circle to find out 3 facts about the other person.

Countries:

Equipment - pool noodle

All participants stand shoulder-to-shoulder in a circle with one participant in the middle (the
chancellor) holding a pool noodle. Each person in the circle, including the chancellor, picks a country.
Someone in the circle starts off by calling out another person’s country. If your country is called, you
must immediately call out another country before the chancellor reaches you. The chancellor’s role
is to tap the person whose country has been called out with the pool noodle before they call out
another country. If the chancellor is successful, they swap with the person they tapped. If they are
unsuccessful, they remain in the middle until they can get someone out. Members in the circle
cannot say the country of someone standing next to them.

Head, Shoulders , Knees , GRAB

Equipment - cones

Participants partner up with someone they do not know and make a line. A cone is placed in
between each pair. The leader calls out a body part like head, shoulders, knees, or toes ect. When a
part of the body is called participants must touch that body part with both hands. When the leader
yells CONE participants must be the first to grab the cone, the person with the cone is the winner
and moves on to vs other people who have won that round & the other player is eliminated.
Continue playing until there is 1 winner.

BANG:
Equipment - N/A

Participants stand in a circle facing the centre of the circle, the leader stands in the middle of the
circle and shoots someone in the circle yelling “BANG”. The person shot must immediately squat
down and the 2 beside him or her must turn in, point, and say bang. The first to do so wins, and the
other must squat down for the remainder of the game. If the leader shoots you and you do not duck
before the people next to you shoot, you are out. If the leader does not shoot you and you
“accidentally” duck, or you turn in and say bang when you’re not supposed to, you are also out.

Continue playing until there are 2 people left standing. The final two stand back to back and the
leader counts out loud starting at 1. The 2 remaining players will take a single step away from each
other as the leader counts SLOWLY. At the leaders discretion, they will yell out BANG and the 2
players will turn around and shoot one another. The first to shoot wins.

Two truths and a lie:

Equipment - N/A

To start, pair off with another person or into smaller groups. one person has to give three
statements about themselves to the rest of the group. The trick is: all of the statements won’t be
true—two of the statements given should be and one should be a lie. After you’re finished, everyone
will guess which statement they think is the lie. Once everyone has made their guess, reveal which
statement was the lie. Keep the game going by then choosing someone who guessed correctly to go
next and then play as many rounds as you’d like.

Fruit Basket:

Equipment – N/A

Have the participants sit in a large circle. Participants should sit close enough to close all gaps. One
participant stands in the middle of the circle and announces his or her own name and what stake
they are from. They will then call out a statement that distinguishes certain members of the group,
such as “Everyone wearing green socks.” Then everyone wearing green socks gets up and runs to
another spot in the circle that someone has vacated. Participants cannot switch spots with the
person next to them—they must get up and move. The person in the centre also tries to sit in an
empty space. The last person standing goes to the centre, and the game begins again.

Every few rounds, have everyone in the circle learn the names of the people sitting nearby.
