The Great Gatsby:
Roaring 20s
Research Project
In groups, you will research and present a topic about an aspect of the 1920s era represented in The Great
Gatsby. You will present your topic to the class in a prepared and organized manner. There are several parts to
the project:
1. Your group must type up an abstract of your project. An abstract is 2-3 well written paragraphs
explaining the following: your topic and the focal points of your research, the type of presentation your
group has created and how it will effectively teach the class, and the duties of the members of your
group. You are required to have an MLA bibliography attached to your abstract. You do not need to
write an essay about your topic, but your presentation should be able to reflect the depth of information
and effort put in by you and the members of your group. This is due on _______________.
2. Your group must present your findings in a well organized presentation. This presentation can be done
in many ways, including a power point, a documentary, a short play, or any other creative and effective
way that you can teach your peers about your topic. Please put your project on flash drive or DVD if
you need it to be projected on screen. DO NOT E-MAIL YOUR PROJECT.
