These adorable coasters are quite special! You’ll be whipping them
out in no time. These are great for using up bits of fingering weight
yarn you have laying around. Impress your guests with these
beautiful coasters or just use them for your morning tea or coffee.

Fingering Weight Yarn
I used various tidbits of yarn, but feel free to use whatever
you like!
Solids are great but multi-colored skeins would be fantastic
too. Although I don’t have the exact shades for you, you
can see all my fingering weight colors here:

Dc: Double Crochet
Hdc: Half Double Crochet

LET’S BEGIN!
Start with a magic loop! Not sure how to work one?

(Or if you prefer, create a center loop by chaining 5 and
joining with a sl st to the first ch).
Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 11 dc in loop. Join with a sl
st in the 3rd ch of ch 3. -12 dc
Pull the tail if you worked the magic loop to cinch up the
center hole.
Rnd 2: Ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1), dc in next st. *Ch 1, dc
in next st. Repeat from * around. Ch 1. Join with a sl st in
3rd ch of ch 4. – 12 dc
Rnd 3: Sl st into next ch sp. Ch 3 (counts as first dc). 2 dc
in same ch sp. *Ch 1, 3 dc in next ch sp. Repeat from *
around. Ch 1. Join with a sl st in 3rd ch of ch 3. – 36 dc
Rnd 4: Sl st into next 2 st. Ch 3 (counts as first dc). 2 dc in
next ch sp. Dc in next st. *Ch 1. Sk next dc. Dc in next st. 2
dc in ch sp. Dc in next st. Repeat from * around. Ch 1. Join
with a sl st in 3rd ch of ch 3. – 48 dc
Rnd 5: Ch 3 (counts as first dc). Dc in next st. *Ch 2, dc in
next 2 sts. Dc in ch sp. Dc in next 2 sts. Repeat from *
around. Ch 2, dc in next 2 sts. Dc in ch sp. Join with a sl st
in 3rd ch of ch 3. – 60 dc
Rnd 6: Ch 3 (counts as first dc). Dc in next st. 2 dc in ch
sp. Dc in next 2 st. * Ch 2, sk next st, dc in next 2 st, 2 dc
in ch 2 sp, dc in next 2 st. Repeat from * around. Ch 2. Join
with a sl st in 3rd ch of ch 3. – 72 dc
Rnd 7: Ch 2 (counts as hdc). *Sc in next st. Sl st in next 2
sts. Sc in next st. Hdc in next st. 4 dc in ch sp. Hdc in next
st. Repeat from * around. Sc in next st. Sl st in next 2 sts.
Sc in next st. Hdc in next st. 4 dc in ch sp. Join with a sl st
in 2nd ch of ch 2. – 12 petals
FINISHING:
Cut your tail and weave in your ends.
Leave as-is or block by soaking your coaster in water for 10
minutes, pressing out the excess moisture with a towel and
pinning into place on cardboard. Allow to dry!
If you prefer your coaster stiff, you can spray with laundry
starch.
