task and develop their own strategies for overcoming problems.
b) Capability : pupils develop the ability to make critical judgements
about the contribution of ICT to their work and understand the
value of ICT.
c) Creativity : pupils are inspired to be creative and innovative with
ICT.
d) Quality: pupils us ICT to present and communicate their ideas of
high standard reducing as necessary to produce better quality
outcome.

-ICT for Teachers Empowerment –

Welliver’s Instructional Transfromation Model ( Welliver , 1990) has
teach progressing through five hierarchical stage in order to integrate
ICT effectively as given the following figure :-
1) Familiarization – Teachers become aware of Technology and its
potential uses.
2) Utilization- Teachers use Technology in effective manner.
3) Integration- Teachers are constantly thinking of ways to use
technology in their classrooms.
4) Reorientation- Teachers begin to rethink the Educational goals of
the classroom becomes completely integrated with technology in
all subject areas.

-ICT for Children with Special Needs –

Use of ICT will catalyse the cause and achieve the goal of inclusive
Education. ICT software and Tools to facilitate access to person with
disabilities like screen readers, Braille printers etc. will be part of ICT
infrastructure in all school.
-Open Educational Resources (OERs) - OERs are teaching,
learning & research materials in any medium-digital or
otherwise. That reside in public domain that permit no cost
access, use , adaptation and re-distribution by others with
no limited restrictions – (UNESCO- 2012) some of the open
access initiatives have contributed largely these are as

-Key challenges in Integrating ICTs in Education
Although Educators acknowledge the importance of ICT in
teaching-learning process & teacher-traning , difficulties
continue to encountered . The following are the barriers in ICT
Integration into teaching & technology training:
 Infrastructure related challenges in ICT enhanced
Education
 Challenges related to financing the cost of ICT use
 Challenges related to Technical support and maintenance
 Challenges with respect to effective Training
 Curriculum review is also seen as a big challenge.
CONCLUSION

Effective implantation of ICTs is certainly a powerful means of

Improving the quality of education in general and teacher
education in particular.
Besides , the use of OERs also enable the teachers to be
dynamic. Systematic and scientific with a good informational
and transformational educational leaders in their future days.
Shifting pedagogies redesigning the curriculum and assessment
