ADDITION
• RULES OF ADDITION
We have learnt the rules of addition in class III . Let us see these rules again
1. ORDER OF ADDENDS
The change in the order of the addends does not change sum.
2. ADDING BY GROUPING
The sum of three or more numbers does not change even when their grouping is changed .
3. ADDING ZERO TO A NUMBER
It we add zero to any number , the number , the answer is the number itself .
4. ADDING 1 TO A NUMBER
When we add 1 to a number , we get the number just after it or we get successor of that number .
5. ADDING 10 TO A NUMBER
When we add 10 to a number , the digit in the tens place increases by 1.

Solution :- Number of stamps Rohit had = 2346
Number of stamps his brother gave him = 1999
Total number of stamps = 2346 + 1999 = 4345
Answer = 4345 stamps
