Supporting Statement (Statement of Intent)
I believe I will benefit from the Programme at this Stage of my Career in the following ways:
I have enjoyed both my academic and professional growth so far, but I really feel I’ve got more
to offer as an upcoming professional/Researcher. I’m also passionate about this subject and don’t
feel enough attention has been paid to the questions I’m looking to address in this Programme.
I have learnt a lot from my previous and current roles and feel motivated with my present work
load but however, Iam now looking for a new challenge, consisting of more work load,
innovation and creativity and broaden my horizons and gain a new skill set all of which I see the
potential for in this academic program.This academic programme shall make me an expert in
Business Administration by providing a deep understanding of Business Administration and
Management principles; The programme shall further enhance my Personal and Professional
Development by providing opportunities for personal and professional development, including
leadership skills, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making. Students develop
skills in research design, data analysis, and academic writing, which can help to shape in future
careers. The programme shall further enhance my career advancement in terms of promotions to
higher positions as well as consulting work since Employers value individuals who have doctoral
degrees because of their advanced skills and knowledge. The Programme will provide me with a
unique opportunity to interact with leading scholars and policymakers through lectures,
international conferences, and workshops. This will in turn enhance my knowledge and skills
and enable me learn about Global developments in the field of Business administration and
build a professional network of Business Administrators for benchmarking and cascading best
practices in my home country and connecting with other professionals who share their interests.
In 5 years time, I would like to have a better understanding of the East African Community.
I also really love working with the people. Ultimately, I would like to undertake more
Trainings/Courses and complete my Doctorate so that I can ascend to a Senior Managerial role in
the East African Community where I can use my people skills and organisation knowledge to
benefit the people working for me and East African Community as a whole.
My Career objectives include: to provide Executive Leadership as a Chief Executive Officer or
Chief Operating Officer so that I can apply my expertise in business strategy, management, and
leadership to drive organizational success. I also intend to be a Researcher who can conduct
research and write scholarly papers and publish them in International refereed journals and
organise Seminars and Workshops that will attract International Scholars. I further still intend to
undertake Consultancy where I can provide expert advice and guidance to businesses and
organizations on a range of issues, such as strategic planning, operations, and management.
Finally, I intend to continue with my career in Government where I can apply my business
expertise to a range of issues such as public policy, economic development, and social
entrepreneurship.
