1 Instruction
1.1 Scope
This Technical Note (TN) lists all qualified thermoplastic materials for use within Airbus aircraft.

All products listed herein have been qualified under the requirements for the product as specified in the latest
effective issue of the applicable standard.

Properties for flammability, smoke density, smoke toxicity and heat release are only guidance
values not to be used for part certification. A reference to herein defined fire safety properties
does not release from the necessity of part/component related FST tests.

1.2 Application
This Technical Note (TN) shall be used in conjunction with the Process and Material Specification (PMS) to assist
Airlines, which produce their own process instructions for performing work on in-service Airbus aircraft.

1.3 Specifics
Following thermoplastic materials/semi-finished products are listed, which are used in an aircraft. Please be careful
Not all listed materials/semi-finished products fulfill the requirements of the ABD0031.

1.4 Definition of the columns of the tables

Line No. Identification number of lines.

Material Brief description of the material concerned.

Standard Defines the corresponding semi-finished Product Standard (e.g. ABS) or Material
Specification (e.g. AIMS).

The semi-finished Product Standard specifies general requirements for a semi-finished


product for procurement / delivery as e.g. dimensions, tolerances, mass, surface structure,
colour.

The Material Specification defines all requirements for qualification and release testing for
a material.

Product designation Defines the trade name of the product.

Manufacturer Company who produces the qualified product or controls the manufacturing of the qualified
product.

Individual product The Individual Product Specification identifies a material from a manufacturer
specification that has been successfully qualified to the relevant Material Specification.

The Individual Product Specification specifies individual requirements, which describe the
specific performance of the material, as demonstrated by the qualification, and which have
to be considered for procurement and use, together with the Material Specification.

PQ-code Reference code of products and is use on drawings prepared by Airbus France.

PQ-codes ending with 00 are drawing codes and linked with specific standards.

PQ-codes ending with XX are linked with a specific product.
