Director - Engineering @ Clear
We are looking for Director - Engineering, who are strong engineering leader
with the ability to lead a group of highly ambitious and high-performing
engineers to amazing outcomes for the product & business - both on the B2B
and the B2C side. As an engineering manager, you are required to drive
strong collaboration between the product managers, engineers, and business
leaders helping critical decision making and delivery with a singular focus of -
"Getting things done" - in the best way
possible.
We are looking for :
A passionate, entrepreneurial, hands-on Director of engineering to join the
Darwinbox Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a
team of application and front-end / Back-end engineers to drive innovation in full-
stack product development, while relentlessly improving performance,
scalability, and maintainability.
Experience: 13 - 18 years of experience
Skills Required: Architecture, Distributed Systems, Multithreading
Requirements :
● Technically Hands-on, Prior experience with a scalable Architecture managing team
of up to 25 which includes EM/Sr. Engineers / Engineers, and coaching mentoring
while maintaining a hands-on role with code development.
● Experience working with Product Managers and UX Designers.
● Dive deep in architecture and work with other senior engineers to drive right
architecture decisions.
● Involving in breaking down ambiguous/complex engineering decisions into
simpler/reversible decisions.
● Strong in metrics. Can devise custom metrics to track health of any engineering area.
● In addition to the engineering chops, this leader is expected to be highly
entrepreneurial with strong product and business acumen.
● Expected to be able to bring clarity in chaotic execution and act with decisiveness in
ambiguous situations. They are expected to balance long term decisions with the
constraints of 0 to 1 execution. And for them to succeed, they need to be very
curious, ambitious and possess the ability to quickly recover from failures.
● Should be open to work on, explore or move to any tech stack, to begin with, or in the
future.
● Experience with high-performance websites catering to millions of daily traffic is a
plus.
● Excellent teamwork skills, flexibility, and ability to handle multiple tasks.
● Experience and ability to bring in software engineering life cycle best practices.
● Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
