I. Learning Objective The Grade 4 learners are expected to:


 Get familiarized and acquainted on guidelines and protocols of
the new normal face to face classes:
- Classroom Rules
- Health & Safety Protocols
- Traffic Scheme – Entrance and Exit
 Build a culture of safety in the classroom

A. Engage Present a video clip/picture of learners going to school in the new normal
Activity 1 - How system of schooling.
are you today? Ask: What can you say about the picture? How do you describe them?
Tell: This day you experienced the same way as the learners in the
pictures. Its your first day of limited face to face. Ask the learner to think
about what they are feeling at the moment. In your minds, quietly, you
can say, “I am feeling ____.”

Using the emotion chart, ask learners to put their name under their most
dominant feeling. Ask them to mimic each feeling, or show the feeling
they are feeling in the moment by making that specific facial reaction at
the same time.
Ask for volunteers to share about their thoughts or explain why they are
feeling that way for that day. Ask them what they noticed about the class
and how the class in general is feeling today. Have a brief discussion on
how to support each other as classmates especially those who are not
feeling so well.

Ask: What different emotions did you learn about today? How does it feel
to know or be aware of what you are feeling?

B. Explore Tell: In the new normal schooling there are some guidelines and

5. What do you think will happen if we will not follow those guidelines
and protocols?

Traffic scheme:
- Getting inside the classroom
- Getting out of the classroom
Health & Safety Protocols: Washing of hands, using of face mask,
maintaining social distancing, using alcohol, getting temperature
and the like.
D. Elaborate A. Draw and Tell!
Activity 3 – Learners will revisit experience where they were proud of
Confidence themselves and identify their strengths from those experiences.
Drawing
Tell the learners that today they will be drawing something about
themselves. Ask them to divide their paper into quadrants.

Let them write down these statements on the following quadrants:


1st or top left quadrant: Something I Love
2nd or top right quadrant: Something I love about myself
3rd or bottom left quadrant: Someone who loves me
4th or bottom right quadrant: Something I am good at
Ask the learners to share their drawings with the group.

E. Evaluate Act-Out: Simulate the guidelines and protocols that need to be observed:
1. Traffic Scheme – Getting in and out of the classroom
2. Health and Safety protocols to observe.

Questions:
How did you feel doing the activities? Ask learners to share
something new they have learner about themselves through the
activities.

IV. Assignment Reflective Writing:


Write 3 to 5 sentences expressing your thoughts by answering the
question:

Why is important to observe health and safety protocols in the


classroom?
