This is the pre-order bonus pattern for the Shrek & Fiona
pattern combo. Donkey came to complete the package,
bringing a kawaii version of this beloved and important
character. After all, what would Shrek be without his stallion?
I made it with great affection, as a thanks to you, who
supported my work. Thank you very much! I hope you enjoy

- 2,5mm Crochet hook Below are the Brazilian yarns I
- Tapestry needle used, they are just suggestions.
- Stuffing They are Light Fingering
- Scissors weight yarns (n. 6/5), 100%
- Pins cotton. Feel free to weave with
- Stitch markers the yarn of your choice.
- 9mm Safet eyes
- Craft glue "Amigurumi" yarn, by Círculo:
- White, black and pink embroidery 8797 - Aço
thread 8008 - Pedreira
- Dry pastels, diluted fabric paint or
makeup (for the blush) "Balloon Amigo" yarn:
- Gray fabric paint 0716 - Marrom
- Felting needle
- Black felting wool or regular black
wool + grooming brush
- White and pink felt
- Amigurumi yarn: Dark gray,
light gray (fur) and dark brown
(paws).

With Dark brown yarn:
1) 5sc in the MR
2) 5inc [10]
3) BLO: 10sc
4) 3sc, 2dec, 3sc [8]
Switch to Dark gray yarn:
Make a round in BLO of 8slst. This round is
not counted, it is only used to smooth the
color switch. Keep going:
5) 8sc - On the two loops of the
previously made slip stitches. The extra
round will disappear.
6 to 8) 8sc - 3 rounds
9) 2sc, 1inc, 4sc, 1inc [10]
10 to 12) 10sc - 3 rounds
Stuff only halfway through the piece.
Fold the piece in half, lining up with the
feet, as shown in the picture. Make more
single crochets to reach the middle of the
piece, if necessary.
Close it by making 5sc.
Fasten off and leave yarn tail for sewing.

With Dark brown yarn:

same round, dark gray and light gray.

TIP: If you use the "V" stitch (yarn over), or have stitches that stretch
diagonally, I suggest you close the rounds with 1slst, and start the next
one with 1ch. This way, the color switch will be well centered.

With Dark gray yarn:
1) Make 16 chains
2) Skip the first one and go back making
15slst.
Fasten off and leave yarn tail for sewing.
Take the felting wool - or use the grooming
brush on a piece of regular wool - and
apply it to the end of the tail. You can use
the felting needle for this, but even glue
works for this part. You can also apply with
the thread by thread technique and use the
grooming brush afterwards.
With Light gray yarn:
1) 7sc in the MR
2) 7inc [14]
3) 6sc, 2 bobble stitches, 6sc [14]
4) (3sc, 1inc) x3, 2sc [17]
5 and 6) 17sc - 2 rounds
Fasten off, and leave yarn tail for sewing.
With black embroidery thread, sew two
lines on the sides of the bobble stitches.

Align the increases from round 13 to the front,
they form the Donkey's cheeks. Insert the
safety eyes between rounds 8-9, with
approximately 7 visible stitches between
them, centering between the cheeks.

Fasten off and leave yarn tail for sewing.
Take the gray paint (a shade lighter than
the gray yarn - if you don't have it, mix white
paint with black until you reach the desired
tone), a thin brush and trace an elongated
diamond, as shown in the image on the
side.
So, take a thicker brush to fill in the figure.
Instead of dragging the paint, just try to
deposit it between the stitches. In this way,
the filling will be more satisfactory.
Let the ears dry for a few hours.

Here is where we will bring the amigurumi to life! The first step is to
slightly indent the eyes. This step is essential for the expression to be
sweeter, as it gives depth to the face. After indenting the eyes we will
move on to embroidery.
With the white thread, embroider the outer corner of the eyes.
Reinforce the embroidery one more time, if desired.
With the same gray yarn used on the body, embroider a line that
simulates the eyelid. Go from the inner corner of the eye to the end of
the white embroidery.
Now, with a thinner black yarn, embroider the eyeliner just below the
gray eyelid line.

CONTINUATION - EXPRESSION
Let's move on to the embroidery of the eyebrows. With the help of pins,
demarcate the embroidery area: Between rounds 5 and 6, covering
approximately 4 stitches. Make a diagonal line, as shown in the image
below. To make them more rounded, you can use craft glue to fix them.
Used in small quantities, this glue does not stain the piece.
Optional: with a brush, apply dry pastel chalk in black just below the
eyebrows, lightly, just to create a subtle shading.
Now we will embroider the cheeks. With the help of pins, demarcate
the embroidery area: Rounds 13 and 14, covering three stitches,
starting in the direction of the stitch where the white embroidery of the
eyes was made. With the pink embroidery thread, embroider diagonal
lines going from rounds 13 to 14, make three lines. On the other cheek,
reverse the direction.
Finally, apply blush (I used dry pastel chalk). Choose a light shade of
pink, pass over the entire embroidery area and a little around it.

Assembly
Now we will make the seams to assemble the amigurumi. We'll start
with all the seams for the head.
With the help of pins, position the snout between rounds 10 and 15,
centering between the eyes. Make sure the bobble stitches are also
centered. Sew.
We will move on to applying the topknot, and for that we will use the
felting technique. You can use the proper wool for this, or you can cut
normal wool yarn and use the brooming brush.
Apply the wool in a straight line that crosses the middle of the head. Go
from round 1 at the front of the head to round 5 at the back of the head.
See the images below. Apply in a line the width of a stitch. Finish by
trimming the wool to a height of about 1cm.

CONTINUATION - ASSEMBLY
In case you don't have a felting needle, you can apply the wool with the
thread by thread technique, and use the brooming brush afterwards.
For sewing the ears, place them between rounds 3 and 5 of the head,
approximately 5 stitches away from the eyes. Sew by joining the
stitches on both sides of each piece.
To give your Donkey a more playful look, you can bend one of the ears
down a bit, as shown in the image below.
If you want to put a mouth on your Donkey, this is a good time. I chose
to make it with felt: cut a half moon with the white felt, glue a piece of
pink felt underneath - in a format that simulates a tongue, and
embroider the top part of the mouth with brown thread. Then glue it to
the snout, leaving the tongue loose to give it more movement.
You can also embroider directly on the snout, paint it or leave it without
a mouth. It's up to you.

CONTINUATION - ASSEMBLY
Now we will move on to the body seams.
With the help of pins, position the hind legs on the sides of the body,
between rounds 7 and 11 of the body, slightly inclined diagonally. See
the images. Sew them.
Now, place the front paws between rounds 12 and 15, also on the
sides of the body, following the same direction as the hind paws. Sew
them.
You can fix the paws with a little glue so that it stays in the desired
position.

CONTINUATION - ASSEMBLY
Position the tail between rounds 6 and 7 of the body. Sew the first
stitches, or fix them with glue. Then shape the tail so that it appears
when the amigurumi is facing you.
Fit the neck to the head, rotate gently. Sew joining the neck stitches to
the head stitches in a zigzag pattern.
He is ready!
