F. Duration:

All Year Round

II. Rationale

Human intellect and reasoning are primarily reliant on

mathematics, which is also vital to our attempts to comprehend the

external world and ourselves. Mathematics fosters logical reasoning

and mental rigor and is an effective means of fostering mental

discipline. Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are the four

fundamental arithmetic abilities. To produce mathematical

simplifications, fractions, decimals, percentages, fractions, square

roots, and exponents are used alongside other arithmetic operations.

Before moving on to the next or higher level of thinking, critical, logical,

analytical, and manipulative abilities in mathematics, a student must

master the fundamental skills and ideas of mathematics. Consequently,

pupils must enhance their math abilities and learn the four basic

operations as well as others. All of these skills are necessary to do

accurate and effective numerical computations.

The majority of parents and their students are well-versed in

worksheets. Teachers use worksheets as an assessment tool to

determine students' previous knowledge of the lesson and the intended

learning goals in order to track their progress. Students often bring

these home from school to complete with their parents or guardians.

Here are some advantages of math worksheets for students. Arithmetic

worksheets assist pupils to enhance problem-solving abilities,

absorbing ideas, practicing becoming adept, concentrating on math

assignments, gaining time management skills, and doing math

problems more efficiently. According to Inan and Erkus (2017), the use

of math worksheets improved pupils' academic performance.

Today, it is difficult for instructors to create math worksheets that

motivate students to study. How does this resource for math teaching

differ from the traditional one? Consequently, a worksheet that is

engaging and imaginative must be produced for students depending on

their demands. It must be developed for a particular function. The

instructor must revise the previous worksheet. Maintain user-

friendliness and enjoyment for the students. Understand the effects of

differentiating your math worksheets on student performance and

arithmetic abilities.

This initiative, I PASS Math, assists students in passing the

math course. In addition, the incorporation of worksheets via

reinforcement and enrichment of in-class activities will assist students

in enhancing their mathematical abilities.

III. Objectives and Expected Output

General Objective

The purpose of this project is to assist the students in reaching the

level of proficiency required to pass their math class with a grade of at

least 75%. In addition, the goal of this project is to improve the student’s

knowledge and capacity to apply concepts learned in the classroom to

problems that occur in the real world, as well as their ability to understand

the relevance of mathematical basics in the real world.

Specific Objectives

At the end of the project, students are expected to:

 To be able to conduct the four basic procedures

 To address issues easily and precisely

 To enhance their knowledge and ability to apply learned

ideas in real-world situations.

 To recognize the relevance of mathematical fundamentals in

the actual world.

*NOTE: The topic or competency may varies based on the LOA

result.

IV. Time Frame

Year-Round (During REA (Reinforcement/Enrichment Activity Class)

V. Participants/Beneficiaries

 Elementary/JHS Students- this will help those who identified

needs for intervention/remediation.

 Teachers- this will motivate and enable instructors to comprehend

their part in executing the company's teaching quality plan.

 Future Students - This will benefit them by having a broader

perspective on Improving the Performance and Arithmetic Skills of

Students through Mathematics Worksheets.

VI. Project Mechanism/Activities

1. Develop a school-based numeracy assessment test to identify learners’

level of numeracy skills.

2. Conduct a pre-assessment of Numeracy among the students.

3. Check the test and analyze the result. Identify and list all the learners who

did not meet the passing score based on the criteria set for the level of

numeracy skills.

4. Identify the least mastered competency based on the Learning Outcome

Assessment (LOA) result. List all the essential learning competency

(MELCs) that needs to be used to prepare worksheets for teachers.

5. Prepare mathematics worksheets based on the needs and interests of the

learners.

6. Create a schedule for the remedial class, such as REA

(Reinforcement/Enrichment Activity) class, which runs weekly for an hour.

The teacher may give direct teaching, followed immediately by answering

the worksheet. The student must engage and find it interesting to answer.

7. Conduct the Post-test numeracy test for the learners who undergo

intervention.

8. Comparing the intervention results with the initial results, the mean

percentage score should be interpreted and analyzed, and its

effectiveness should be tested.

9. Make an accomplishment report for the project.
