ADDING ADJUSTMENT LAYERS TO ENTIRE COMP


Layer>new>adjustment layer
(⌘ opt shift Y)

in the effects pallete


type in “hue’ or whatever effect you are looking for
OR
explore effects with the disclosure triangle

SELECT the adjustment layer in the Comp pallete

DOUBLE CLICK the effect to apply it to that layer

ADDING ADJUSTMENT TO ONE LAYER

in the effects pallete


type in “hue’ or whatever effect you are looking for
OR
explore effects with the disclosure triangle

select the layer in the Comp pallete


double click the effect to apply it to that layer

MAKING A FOREGROUND OBJECT TO ANIMATE

In photoshop, select a layer with an isolated object


turn all the other layers off

File>Export>Quick export as PNG

ADDING THE OBJECT TO AE


In AE
⌘I import the .png le
or just drag it into the PROJECT pallette from your
desktop

DRAG THE FILE FROM YOUR PROJECT


PALLETTE INTO YOUR COMP PALLETTE

EXTEND THE OBJECT IN THE TIMELINE


hover your cursor over the end of the object layer till
it becomes a double arrow
Drag the end of the bar to the end of the timeline

ANIMATE THE OBJECT


Select the layer with the object
click these triangles till you see “Position”
or just hit the P key

move the timeline slider to the start

then click on the stopwatch


you have now created a KEYFRAME (blue diamond)

move the timeline slider to the end

then click on the diamond (not the stopwatch)


you have now created another KEYFRAME

move the timeline slider to the middle of the timeline

Make sure the layer with the object is selected

move the object


Now its animated!

REPEAT FOR ADDITIONAL ANIMATION POINTS

ADJUST THE POINTS:

hold down the shift key and move the timeline to


snap to a keyframe

in the preview window, move the object: now it will


go to that point instead

SMOOTH THE ANIMATION


right click on one of the keyframes
Keyframe assistant>easy ease

ANYTHING WITH A STOPWATCH ICON CAN BE ANIMATED


OPACITY
ROTATION, ETC

ADJUST THE BLENDING MODES


try out a different blending mode

TEST THE ANIMATION


hit the spacebar to play. You may have to move the
keyframes, make sure the ends of the timeline are showing

EXPORT THE ANIMATION


Composition> add to Adobe media encoder Que
Adobe media encoder will open( download it if
you have not already)
click here and specify a location to save

click here to set format: H264 or H265 are ne for


most uses

then click here
