Gypsum false ceiling -
Providing & fixing seamless false ceiling with Gypsum board of 12.5mm thickness fixed to
the ceiling section at right angles to metal framing on 450mm centres. Where primary
members are used to support the furring channel, these shall be fixed direct to the
structural soffit or suspended by means of metal straps or GI wire hangers at centres not
exceeding those recommended by the Manufacturer. The boards are to be finished flush
1 by filling the joints with jointing compound , joint paper tape and two coats of emulsion,
including making recessed light provision as required by Detail Drawings. The rate shall
include making cove lighting and cost of all sub-frames and sub-structure above false
ceiling level and around mechanical fitting and elements with necessary accessories and
all materials, labours, wastage, scaffolding, tools and plants, work at all levels and
heights, all complete as directed. List of Approved makes as per ER Make: Gyproc/ India
Gypsum.
Metal Ceiling 1800x300
1800 x 300mm perforated Aluminium alloy panels of 0.7mm thickness as per the specific
requirements. The tile / strip ends will be raised with pips and stops to ensure positive
engagement into the spring to enable de-mounting of individual panels. All tiles will be
bevelled edged, and all tiles / strips shall be minimum 60-micron pure polyester powder
coated to approved shade. Tiles / strips shall be clipped into clip in profile of 0.5 mm thick
G.I. The clip in profile shall be supported from slab by means of rigid suspension system.
All tiles shall be square edged. For perforated ceilings, the pattern of perforations shall be
based on the acoustic calculations so as to ensure required sound dampness. The overall
system shall be such to provide easy accessibility to the service above false ceiling and
can re-fix or settle back without leaving the mark of rework. Deflection tolerance of the
ceiling panel shall be considered at +/-1mm for every 1m run in any direction.
Perforations shall be provided to match existing ceiling panels adjacent to the proposed
2 ceiling. Interface with fixtures such as light fixtures, diffusers, sprinklers, etc. shall be
considered. Acoustic felt shall be provided over the perforation for sound absorption to
meet 0.7 NRC.
Primary suspension - Rows of galvanised steel common profiles shall be installed on
specified centre to centre distance by means of GI rod hangers fixed to the upper
structure at an appropriate distance not more than 1200mm apart or as per
manufacturer specification. Primary suspension profiles will be fixed at both ends to
prevent upward movement.
Secondary suspension - Clip in profiles as described above shall be fastened to the
primary suspension by means of rail connectors at the correct distance to support the
tiles.
The ceiling installation to be in line and level, as per design / details, with necessary cut-
outs as per drawings and instructions, Rate shall be inclusive of all accessories like wall
angles, suspension system with levelling facility, and installed to the entire satisfaction of
the supervising Architects.
Mineral Fibre False Ceiling -
Supply and installation of square edge Mineral fibre tiles of size 600x600x20mm,mineral
fibre boards shall be of approved make, design, size, thickness, shade and quality and
shall be fire rated as per agreed fire strategy. The tiles have straight and square edges
and shall be free from any breakages, marks, stains or bends. The supporting framework
shall follow manufacturer specification and comprise of sections of specified size and
weight as per the requirements. The main runner shall be appropriately spaced (not more
than 1200mm) or as per manufacture specification and fixed to soffit by the help of
approved fasteners by approved hangers. End hangers shall be at a suitable distance
from the adjacent wall. The cross tees shall be appropriately interlocked (both ways)
between main runner to form a required module or grid. The wall angle shall be fixed. as
continuous support. Shadow gap profile and movement joints profile shall be considered
where ever applicable. Suspension System - Exposed semi recessed suspension system
