FOR WEEK 8
Learning Competencies: After going through this module, you are
expected to:
1. Finds a domain and range of a logarithmic function M11GM-Ii-3
2. Determines the intercepts, zeroes, asymptotes of logarithmic
functions M11GM-Ii-4
3. Graphs logarithmic functions M11GM-Ij-1
4. Solves problems involving logarithmic functions, equations and
inequalities, M11GM-Ij-2
A. For this logarithmic function y = 4 log 2 x-1 and y = log2 x, identify the
following:
a. Domain
b. Range
c. Intercepts
d. Zeroes
e. Asymptotes
f. Sketch of the graph in one Cartesian Coordinate Plane.
B. Solve the following problems.
1. What values of x satisfy the following inequality log2(log3(4x+1)) >
log2(log3(2x+3))?
2. Solve for x in the equation 4 + log3(7x) = 10
3. Using the world population formula P = 6.9(1.011) t, where t is the
number of years after 2010 and P is the world population in billions of
people, estimate:
a) the population in the year 2030 to the nearest hundred million, and
b) by what year will the population be double from 2010?
