Input and Output Devices in a Computer System

Input and output devices are essential for interacting with a computer system. They allow users to

provide data to the computer and receive data from it.

Input Devices:

1. Keyboard: One of the most common input devices used to type data into the computer.

2. Mouse: A pointing device used to interact with items on the screen.

3. Scanner: Converts physical documents into digital format for storage or processing.

4. Microphone: Captures sound input, allowing for voice commands or audio recordings.

5. Camera: Used to capture images and video, often used in communication or for taking pictures.

Output Devices:

1. Monitor: Displays the visual output from the computer, such as text, images, and videos.

2. Printer: Produces a physical copy of digital documents, such as text and images on paper.

3. Speakers: Output sound from the computer, including audio from videos, music, or system alerts.

4. Projector: Outputs visual data by projecting it onto a larger surface, useful for presentations or

large displays.

5. Headphones: Provide sound output directly to the user, useful for private listening.

In addition to input and output devices, there are devices that perform both functions, such as

touchscreens, which can receive input from a user's touch while displaying output simultaneously.

Understanding how input and output devices work and how they connect to a computer is crucial for

effective interaction with a computer system.
