PUBLIC SPEAKING A very good morning to the chairperson, honorable judges, respected time keeper, the fellow audience
and all my friends. My name is ..from Sekolah Kebangsaan Dusun Nanding. Ladies and gentlemen, It is indeed an honor to be given the chance to stand here in front of you, the audience. I am here seeking for attention; my topic is about One Malaysia. Hopefully all of you will enjoy it. Ladies and gentlemen, Our Prime Minister, Yang Amat Berhormat Dato Seri Najib b Tun Hj. Abdul Razak has come up with a beautiful vision for our country 1 Malaysia. Our leaders vision is about unity. He wants all Malaysians, especially pupils like me in every school in Malaysia to be united. 1 Malaysia concept consists of 8 values. They are culture of excellence, perseverance, humility, acceptance, loyalty, meritocracy, education and last one integrity. All of these are our Prime Ministers conditions to achieve 1 Malaysia. This concept is neither too hard nor too easy to be achieved. Since Malaysia is being developed, current Prime Minister espoused 1 Malaysia concept and it is purposely takes into consideration the interest and aspiration of all communities in moving country forward. Our Prime Minister wants all of us to be united in what we think, feel, say and do in our lives. In order for us to be united, he wants all of us think and feel like we are part of one big happy Malaysia family just how we have a special feeling towards our parents, brothers and sisters in our own family. Only then we can be united in what we say and do.
Ladies and gentlemen, 1 Malaysia is also to know and love Malaysia . The Prime Minister hopes that we will respect and treat everyone the way we treat our family, relatives and friends. He also wants all pupils to respect and treat each other in schools the same way we treat our brothers and sisters at home. Now how to respect and treat someone? To do this, we must get to know our country first. Once we discover Malaysia, we will know that all Malaysians have the same history. We will also find out that there are many things we have in common with one another, whether we are Malay, Chinese, Indian or any other race. Ladies and gentlemen, Another thing that we have in common is our national language, Bahasa Melayu. Everyone surely know how to speak and write in Bahasa Melayu. The national language is also used everywhere in Malaysia, at home, in schools, colleges, universities and offices. Once we all know that we have many things in common with one another, we can then start to feel like belongs to one other as one big and happy Malaysian family. Hey! Thats a great start!! Ladies and gentlemen, To know and love Malaysia, the first step is to know our country and its people. Then next step is to love our country and the people around us. How to do that? Since we already know that we have a few things in common, try to find out what are the other things we can share with people around us with different races, cultures and religions. The more we have in common, the more we will tend to like the other people. Finally, we will understand and appreciate what is our Prime Ministers 1 Malaysia vision is all about.
Ladies and gentlemen, Other then that, we can notice that justice is not bias in Malaysia. There is no favoritism among each other. This is fair enough for every level of people. We can see that all sectors will received the same opportunities nowadays based on merit without into account ones race, religion, political leanings or economic status. Ladies and gentlemen, As a conclusion. 1 Malaysias goal is to preserve and enhance this unity in diversity which has been always been our strength and remains out best hope for the future. Therefore, as a Malaysian, please be remembered to seize the golden chance to contribute yourself in order to create the excellent culture in Malaysia. Thank you.
