First of all we would like to express our genuine gratitude thanks for Mizan Aman
College of Health Science specifically nursing department for giving us this ideal
opportunity to perform the community-based training program (CBTP) which is
really helpful.
To implement what we learnt theoretically in public courses. Next, we would like
to present great thanks to our Advisors Mr Sisay K (MPH) and Mr Solomon B
(MSC) for their guidance on each footstep while preparing this proposal also
following with their satisfactory comments. We would like to be grateful for Aman
kebele main administrations village administrator and health extension workers,
the village representatives and also household representative for their immense
cooperation providing us with appropriate information.
CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION

Back Ground Information of Mizan Aman Town

Bench sheko zone is one of SWR (south west region) and it is situated at
about 583 km away from Addis Ababa capital city of Ethiopia in south west
direction. Bench sheko is bordered on the south and southwest by west Omo,
on the west by the Gambela region on the north Sheka, and on the east by
Kaffa. Based on 2007 E.C census conducted by central statistical agency.
This zone has a total population of 652,531, of whom 323,348 are men and
329,183 women with the area of 19,252.00 square kilometers. Mizan Aman is
also one of the largest town in south west Ethiopia peoples region and one
four capital cities of the region. It is located about 160 kilometers south west
of Jimma and it has latitude and longitude of 7 o0’N 35o35’E and an elevation
of 1451 meters. The main food crop in this Zone includes Maize, Godere (taro
root) and enset, while sorghum, teff, wheat and barley are cultivated. Also
meat and milk are very much appreciated food. Cash crop includes fruits
(bananas, pineapples, oranges ...etc) honey also an important source of
income and coffee is primary source of income. The weather condition of
Mizan Aman is the warm season lasts for 3.9 months from November 29 to
march 26 with an average daily temperature above 182 oF. The hottest month
of the year in Mizan Aman March with an average high of 183 oF and 77 oF
The cool season lasts for 2.1 months from June 20 to August 25, with average
daily temperature below 77oF The coldest month of Mizan Aman is
December, with average temperature low of 54oF and high 0f 83oF.
 CHAPTR TWO

OBJECTIVES
2.1 General objective
To Intervene health related problems among community on housing condition,
latrine facility, water supply, waste disposal, communicable, non-communicable
disease, maternal and child health in Aman Keble ketena 02 and 04 by Second
Year BSC Nursing Students from June25-July 25/ 2024 G.C.

2.2 Specific objectives

 To drain 200m2area of stagnant water.
 To provide health information about prevention and control of malaria for 800
individuals.
 To provide health information about the proper utilization of ITN for 800 individuals.
 To clean 250 m2 area of solid wastes
 To create awareness about AFI for 800 individuals
 To construct hand washing facility around the toilet for 30 latrines
 To construct latrine cover for 30 latrines.
 To construct latrine superstructure for 2 latrines
To provide health information about proper use of ITN.
