Environmental Problems in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is known as ‘Asia’s World City’ and tourists love coming here.
___________, there are some problems Hong Kong has to solve if it wants to stay as a
top city.

We all know that Hong Kong has a problem with air pollution. Sometimes,
people cannot see the tops of many buildings there is so much smoke and fog. A
lot of people have breathing problems. some people are moving to other
countries to live.

Another kind of pollution in Hong Kong is light pollution. Many buildings keep
their lights on the whole night. It makes the city look beautiful it wastes a lot of
energy. It is difficult to see the stars at night. Many people living nearby can’t sleep
well either.

In addition to these problems, Hong Kong is also losing its famous Chinese white
dolphins. One environmental group says that there are only 100 to
150 Chinese white dolphins left in Hong Kong waters. Reclamation
and fishing are taking away the dolphins’ home and food. The boats
in the water are also dangerous to dolphins since they come too
close. The polluted water is bad for their health. people keep
reclaiming the sea, they will have no place to live.

The pollution in Hong Kong will be more serious we change our way of
living. Can we change the future?

Hi Jenny,

we did.

very thankful to me because he’s too weak to read the newspaper himself.

Next, we went to some housing estates in the afternoon. Some kind

10 residents 2.d the old books and toys to the children in need.
Most of the toys were cheap, but some were quite expensive. We collected
them and made sure all the books and toys were in good condition. Then
we gave them to the kids in Children’s home. When the children got the
things, they held our hands and gave us a big hug. We were very touched.

15 Finally we went back to school and drew many big happy faces on the wall
outside the school. These ‘street smiles’ brought a real smile to the face of
everyone who walked past. Who knew that turning a boring wall into the
beautiful artwork could have such a good impact?
